Léa Seydoux in awe of Cruise

Léa Seydoux turned “red as a beetroot” when she met Tom Cruise on the set of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.

The French model-and-actress plays assassin Sabine Moreau in the new movie.

Léa has recalled the first time she spoke to Tom on set.

“The first day of filming, his staff arrived and said, ‘You are going to meet Mister Cruise’. Me, I turned red as a beetroot. You can see it in the movie, every time I have a line with him,” she told French magazine Jalouse.

“And he was so kind, so humble. He's really considerate with everybody. He's one of the most talented actors I have ever met. Sincerely, this man is a genius. I was so impressed. There's a good reason why he had worked with some of the most important filmmakers - Kubrick, Scorsese...”

Despite her nerves the Léa admitted that she hadn’t seen many of Tom’s movies before.

However, she knew he was one of Hollywood’s biggest names and she admired his glamorous lifestyle.

"To be honest, I almost didn't know anything about his work,” she confessed. “But I was very impressed to meet him. He's the archetypal Hollywood star. When we were filming in Canada, he would come back to Los Angeles in the evening flying his own jet. Mission: Impossible, is kind of his franchise. He's got an eye on everything - even the most insignificant costume."

The fourth instalment of the Mission: Impossible franchise is one of the biggest films of the year.

However, Léa revealed that she didn’t even have to audition to secure her role.

"It was by chance, sort of. I don't know why or why they thought about me,” she explained. “From what I've heard, the producers had already found someone for the part. But, she looked too much like the leading actress. They contacted me at the last minute. They explained me what they were expecting from me. I didn't even have to go through the audition process," she explained.
