Fausto Puglisi has designed a capsule collection for Marina Rinaldi.
The Italian designer will unveil the line during Paris Couture Week in July (18), with model Ashley Graham fronting the campaigns for the fall 2018 and spring 2019 ranges.
Marina Rinaldi, part of the Max Mara group, is a label known for pushing fashion boundaries and catering for curvy women. Patricia Arquette and Alessandra Garcia Lorido, daughter of actor Andy Garcia, have previously starred in Marina Rinaldi ads.
The collaboration marks Graham’s continued partnership with the Italian womenswear brand, and last September (17), she tried her hand at designing when she unveiled a denim-inspired line of clothes for the company.
“We thought it was a good idea to reinforce this (commitment) with this new role as a designer,” said Lynne Webber, managing director of Marina Rinaldi, according to WWD. “Ashley is a super positive role model with a vast following on social media. The capsule is centred on Ashley as a typical consumer, there is an identification with her.”
Puglisi is also known for pushing fashion boundaries and doesn’t conform when it comes to beauty.
His collections are always full of colour and vibrancy, something he credits to his Southern Italian roots and growing up surrounded by “the turquoise of the sea, the blue sky, and the sunsets tinged with almost neon tones”.
“My search for my own idea of beauty is free from prejudice – for example, the use of printed silk in men’s clothes is crucial for me, but I totally understand that only very confident men can wear it,” he previously said. “But to be honest, at this point in my life and my career, I’m only interested in those things that are spontaneous and emotional.”
Puglisi had headed up Emanuel Ungaro but parted ways with the company last year.
