Kate Hudson is often limited in her outfit choices for Hollywood events as she can’t always into designer samples.

The actress always looks gorgeous on the red carpet, and is a big fan of Valentino, having showcased the label’s gowns at both the Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild Awards this year (18).

However, Kate has now admitted that she often struggles for choice when it comes to deciding what to wear to galas and awards ceremonies, as not all designers cater to her body type.

“You know, the reality is that everybody does such beautiful work, and there’s some people that do work that I wish I could fit into their samples!” she explained in an interview with Irish online publication Breaking News. “It’s like, you see a dress and they come in and you’re like, ‘Oh I’d give anything to (wear this)’, and then you put it on and you can’t close it!”

As well as Valentino, Kate is also a big fan of wearing garments from Versace Atelier. In particular, she appreciates creative director Donatella Versace’s willingness to adapt dresses to flatter her lithe figure.

“I do love working with Versace Atelier, because for a red carpet, there’s something about the way they design their dresses and the way my body is formed. I always feel so good in a Versace dress,” the 38-year-old smiled.

The Bride Wars star, who is a co-founder of sportswear brand Fabletics, tries to vary up her day-to-day wardrobe as much as she can, but there is one style she returns to time and time again.

“There’s a couple of jumpsuits that when I’m in a hurry, I’ll just put on,” she shared. “Actually, funny enough, I’m wearing Stella McCartney today, and she’s my friend and everyone knows that at this point, but I love her jumpsuits. I think she makes really comfortable jumpsuits that are flattering. They aren’t form-fitting but they are flattering.”

Gucci head Alessandro Michele unearthed an unexpected wave of emotions in Elton John when he emulated some of the singer’s most eccentric stage looks.

Gucci’s spring/summer 2018 show was a tribute to Elton’s glam rock past, featuring sequinned jackets, velvet jumpsuits and even a crystal swim cap, similar to one English star wore on stage in the ’70s.

Explaining to V magazine that he’s not a normally a very nostalgic person, the 71-year-old admitted seeing his old stage looks brought back a lot of happy memories.

“(I) tend to avoid looking back on my life,” he shared. “Opening up my costume archive and seeing how Alessandro reinterpreted key looks for today’s world has unearthed an exhilarating rush of emotions. I can’t believe how sartorially crazy I was, particularly in the ’70s! I was like a big kid in a sweet shop. I couldn’t get enough, and kept trying newer and crazier looks.”

Elton worked closely with famed designer Bob Mackie on his most outrageous looks, with Bob, who has also created jaw-dropping outfits for Cher, Diana Ross and RuPaul, infusing all the garments with his trademark sparkles.

“Bob Mackie has said that his approach to dressing me for stage was to treat me like a male showgirl, and that’s exactly what we did!” Elton laughed. “Together, we had so many ideas. He couldn’t make the clothes fast enough. Bob made some fabulous outfits for me – feathers, sequins, glitter – totally outrageous one-offs. I look at them now and they make me howl with laughter. We had so much fun!”

Kim Kardashian’s hairstylist Jen Atkins has shared a simple insider tip on how to avoid oily, unmanageable hair.

The hair professional works with the reality TV star and the entire Kardashian-Jenner family, as well as Chrissy Teigen and supermodel Bella Hadid, and to keep her clients looking perfect, she ensures products are tailored to scalp conditions.

Atkins explains she has multiple options to treat various textures and scalp types in her Ouai product line, but it should be easy to find solutions for greasy hair at home by employing a simple shampooing technique.

“No one thinks about this, especially if you’re a girl who suffers with a greasy scalp, but you should wash your hair with two different shampoos, because the root and ends are such different hair,” she told Cosmopolitan.

“Think about it, the ends of your hair have usually been coloured and are pretty dead, so you wanna use a hydrating shampoo like our Ouai Repair, or Ouai Smooth to wash the ends with, but you want to wash the roots with a more cleansing shampoo, like Ouai Volume, or Clean.

“Wash the roots first, then wash the ends and you’re good to go.”

Jen has spoken about the value of using the right products at the right time to enhance hair before, revealing to Flare last year (17) she makes it a point to turn down the heat on her styling tools and to use formulas that protect tresses.

“I spend so much time making hair look like nothing was done to it,” she laughed. “You want products that aren’t too sticky or heavy, and you shouldn’t be afraid to layer them.”

R&B star John Legend is fasting in the lead up to Easter Sunday (01Apr18) so he will look his best going shirtless in live TV musical Jesus Christ Superstar.

The All of Me hitmaker will portray the titular character in the small screen adaptation of the iconic Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice rock opera, opposite singer/actress Sara Bareilles as Mary Magdalene, and rocker Alice Cooper as King Herod.

Certain scenes in the production require John to go topless, and he has already adopted a strict diet as he prepares to hit the stage as The Messiah – a lifestyle change which has recently posed a few problems for his wife Chrissy Teigen, who loves to serve up hearty meals at home.

“Well right now, cooking is hard – cooking for Jesus, as I like to say – now that John is rehearsing for Jesus Chris Superstar,” the model and celebrity cookbook author tells Us Weekly.

However, Chrissy confesses his restrictive food plan couldn’t have occurred at a more suitable time, especially as she is heavily pregnant with their second child.

“I’m not supposed to be on my feet that much, so cooking is tough. I just get tired!,” she laughs. “But luckily, I’ve just entered that phase that my belly can’t fit as much food in it, which is great. And John has been rehearsing and he’s going to start fasting soon because he has a shirtless scene.”

Chrissy has been taking their two-year-old daughter Luna to the New York City set to watch dad in rehearsals for the big performance, and she is in awe of John’s work ethic, and that of his castmates.

“He’s taken this role so seriously. I don’t know how Broadway people do it. It’s all encompassing,” she shares. “I was at rehearsal yesterday and the amount of themselves and work they put (in) it, it’s so much work. I feel like they should do a full run, it’s only one show!”

The one-off production for NBC’s Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert will be broadcast from the Marcy Armory in Brooklyn on Easter Sunday.
