According to The Hollywood Reporter, Yan has now joined the project, which will be based on the Birds of Prey comic book series. The film is scheduled to begin production at the end of the year (18).
The sequel to Suicide Squad is also slated to start filming this year and will be directed by Gavin O’Connor. Robbie, Will Smith, Jared Leto, and the rest of the cast are all expected to reprise their villain-turned-hero roles for Suicide Squad 2.
Meanwhile, Leto will also reportedly reprise his role as The Joker in the Harley Quinn spin-off, and last year (17) he opened up about working with Margot.
“It was an incredible experience,” he told the Kyle and Jackie O show. “Everybody was amazing. Margot Robbie (is) one of the nicest people, one of the best actresses I’ve ever worked with, and I really loved working with her.
“I thought the scenes and what we did together was some of the most fun I’ve ever had on a set before. But everything’s great in that world, and I’m really proud to be a part of it.”
