Stella McCartney will present collections at Milan Fashion Week: Men’s this year (18).
The designer will showcase her latest lines on the last day of the event, which runs from 15-18 June, in shows that will feature both her women’s resort 2019 and men’s spring 2019 collections. The location has yet to be announced, but it has been confirmed that the presentation will take place from 8pm to 11pm.
The 46-year-old is not the only fashion mogul to incorporate feminine garments into Men’s Fashion Week in Italy, as designer Alberta Ferretti, 68, will debut her own resort 2019 and Limited Edition collections, on 15 June. The Italian icon’s two-part show will occur at the Sala delle Cariatidi venue from 6.30pm.
McCartney celebrated another achievement on Tuesday (08May) when she was presented with a Humanitarian award at the second annual David Lynch Foundation Women of Vision luncheon. The honour was delivered by Isabella Rossellini at the event in New York City, who praised the British style icon for her cruelty-free approach to fashion.
“When I wear her fashion, I don’t feel guilty and I learn about lots of things that I didn’t know,” the 65-year-old smiled.
The luncheon raised money for an initiative that will teach Transcendental Meditation to 1,000 women survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault, and McCartney, daughter of the Beatles legend Paul McCartney, said that the practice is “probably one of the best gifts you can have.”
“It is something that you can take everywhere,” she explained to the audience. “I’m sure a lot of people in the room travel a lot, we carry our bags around and we have a lot going on in our lives. Meditation is something that I just carry around in my back pocket and in my heart for free. It’s weightless, effortless and it’s a real gift.”
