Dior have released a new promotional film for its male fragrance Sauvage starring Johnny Depp.

The French fashion house have launched a campaign titled The Legend Of The Magic Hour, which has been inspired by a Navajo story about a coyote’s involvement in the creation of the Milky Way.

It was shot by directors Clement Beauvais and Arthur de Kersauson in the Californian desert.

In footage exclusively obtained by British GQ, the Pirates of the Caribbean star, who also narrates the story, can be seen alongside a series of beautiful outcasts all waiting for the arrival of a coyote.

“In this tale, a certain Black God, the god of fire, created stars at the behest of the Elders. As daylight faded, he began to hang a multitude of stars in the sky, giving rise to the constellations,” Beauvais explained to the publication. “It was then that the coyote appeared. Filled with impatience and raging because the Elders had not asked his opinion about the positioning of the stars, he stole the bag containing the remaining stars from Black God, and threw them furiously up into the air. The stars spread out in a chaotic, disorganised manner, thereby forming the Milky Way.”

Johnny first became a brand ambassador for Dior in 2015, and was tapped as the face Sauvage.

The label’s beauty division has also expanded its product range, and introduced a new Backstage line during its Cruise 2019 fashion show on Friday 25 May (18). The range consists of face and body foundations in 40 shades, as well as neutral palettes for the face, eyes, lips and brows, in addition to new make-up brushes.

Dior Make-Up’s creative and image director Peter Philips shared in a statement that he designed the line “for every woman who wants a professional result with intuitive products and easy-to-use tools”.

The collection launches online at Dior and Sephora on 15 June, before being able to purchase in Sephora stores on 26 June.

Mario Testino’s New York creative agency has ceased operations a year after opening.

The famed fashion photographer’s reputation took a hit after a New York Times expose in January (18) accused him of sexual assault and harassment, providing detailed accounts from 13 male models, including Roman Barrett, Jason Fedele and Ryan Locke, and assistants dating allegations back to the 1990s. An additional five accusations of the same nature came to light in March.

Now, Mariotestino+ has been shut down, and though Testino’s office in London remains open, a spokesperson told WWD that “the client-facing teams have been restructured”.

The New York agency was launched under the leadership of Brigid Walsh, who left the company in March, according to an online profile.

Though 63-year-old Testino has strenuously denied all allegations made against him, and previously described his accusers as “mentally ill” or “disgruntled employees,” Vogue publisher Conde Nast swiftly announced it would not hire him “for the foreseeable future,” while Michael Kors and Stuart Weitzman have also refused to work with him on any ad campaigns.

However, WWD editors have reported that he continues to do commercial work, but it’s “unclear for whom”.

Locke, who worked with Testino on a Gucci campaign in the ’90s, referred to him as “a sexual predator” in the article, which reported claims of groping, masturbation and aggressive coercion on and off-set.

The expose also accused 72-year-old Bruce Weber of subjecting 15 current and former models to unnecessary nudity and coercive sexual behaviour, with Josh Ardolf alleging that the photographer grabbed his genitals during a nude photoshoot.

In a statement to the newspaper, Weber said: “I’m completely shocked and saddened by the outrageous claims being made against me, which I absolutely deny.”

Dylan Sprouse dropped 30 pounds and learned to speak Mandarin for his latest film.

The former child actor, who found fame with his twin brother Cole on Disney Channel show The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and Adam Sandler movie Big Daddy, made a return to acting last year (17), with horror flick Dismissed.

His next project is China-produced movie Turandot, directed by Xiaolong Zheng.

Deadline announced his casting on Tuesday (29May18), with Dylan adding some more details to his 4.5 million Twitter followers.

“Proud to announce my participation in the huge Chinese fantasy romance movie, Turandot as Prince Calaf! Between losing 30lbs from combat training and speaking exclusively mandarin, this is a huge leap for me, read more here,” he wrote with a link to Deadline’s story.

The 25-year-old plays Calaf, a character who risks his life in an attempt to free Princess Turandot, played by Chinese actress Guan Xiaotong, who is cursed by a mysterious power emanating from three Mazovian bracelets that were given to her as birthday gifts.

While answering three riddles, one for each bracelet, Calaf inadvertently uncovers his own extraordinary past.

The film, an adaptation of Giacomo Puccini’s opera of the same name, is in pre-production.

Like his brother Cole, Dylan enjoyed a long break from acting after The Suite Life wrapped in 2011. Both brothers enrolled in New York University, graduating in archaeology and video game design respectively.

Cole made his screen return a year before Dylan, in hit TV drama Riverdale, with both Sprouses now firmly back in the acting game.

Screenwriters Lawrence and Jonathan Kasdan relied on an online encyclopaedia when penning the script for Solo: A Star Wars Story.

The father and son writing team have a wealth of experience when it comes to the beloved franchise, with Lawrence previously masterminding the screenplays for The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Though one would expect the duo to know all the ins and outs of the Star Wars universe, they have now admitted that they required a little help from the fan-built online website Wookieepedia.

“We’re big fans of the Wookieepedia. It’s a great resource,” Jonathan explained in an interview with Screen Rant. “And we would have moments when we were writing where we would say, ‘Well what’s the cannon or non-cannon explanation for this thing?’ And then we go into Wookieepedia, the two of us sitting at the computer and we’d go down a rabbit hole about, like, the history of the (Millennium) Falcon.”

However, the 38-year-old acknowledged that dependence on a platform of this kind did bring some risks.

“We’d spend two hours looking at this stuff and then we’d think like, ‘Well, if this is open sourced, how do we know we’re not just listening, to like, some kid, from like, Iowa?'” he laughed.

British actress Felicity Jones, who played Jyn Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, previously confessed to using Wookieepedia as a research tool in an interview for the film’s DVD bonus features.

And according to Solo’s director Ron Howard, Tom Hanks may be the next famous face to make an appearance in the franchise, as he was keen to play a Stormtrooper in the latest feature.

“It would have been great,” the 64-year-old lamented. “He was shooting and he just couldn’t get there. But now that Lucasfilm knows that Tom Hanks is interested, I’m sure they’ll work it out someday.”

Sylvester Stallone has launched a new production company named after his most famous character, Rocky Balboa.

The 71-year-old is planning to develop a movie about Jack Johnson, the first African American heavyweight champion, under his new Balboa Productions banner.

News of his new venture comes after Stallone earned Johnson a posthumous pardon from U.S. President Donald Trump last week (ends25May18). The late athlete was convicted of violating the Mann Act, which made it illegal to transport women across state lines for “immoral” reasons, by an all-white jury in 1913.

Stallone led a campaign requesting Trump use his presidential power to exonerate the late sports star, who died in 1946, and the actor joined the President in the Oval Office on Thursday (24May18), as he officially signed the pardon.

Johnson is widely regarded as one of the greatest boxers of all time, as he held the heavyweight championship belt for seven years despite a string of white opponents, each dubbed ‘the great white hope’, attempting to dethrone him. His 1910 fight against former champion James Jeffries was once dubbed The Fight of the Century.

The sportsman served 10 months in prison following a conviction many view as racially motivated – as his success, extravagant lifestyle and marriages to white women caused uproar at the time.

It is unclear when the film will go into production with Stallone currently busy filming Creed 2.

Meanwhile, Stallone has entered Balboa Productions into a multi-year deal with bosses at Starlight Culture Entertainment to develop feature films.

Harvey Weinstein has been indicted on two sets of rape charges and a sex crime charge.

Hours after the disgraced movie mogul announced he wouldn’t testify in front of a Grand Jury, the same panel voted to indict him on charges of Rape in the First and Third Degrees, and Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree, according to Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance, Jr.

If found guilty, the Oscar winner could face up to 25 years behind bars.

“This indictment brings the defendant another step closer to accountability for the crimes of violence with which he is now charged,” Vance writes in a statement. “Our office will try this case not in the press, but in the courtroom where it belongs.

“The defendant’s recent assault on the integrity of the survivors and the legal process is predictable. We are confident that when the jury hears the evidence, it will reject these attacks out of hand.”

Weinstein turned himself in at a New York Police Department precinct and was subsequently charged with rape, a criminal sex act, sex abuse, and sexual misconduct last week (ends25May18).

The 66-year-old was then arraigned at New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan and released on $1 million (GBP752,700) bail.

Announcing his client would not testify before a grand jury, Weinstein’s lawyer Benjamin Brafman told The Blast, “Mr. Weinstein intends to follow the advice of his attorneys and not testify before the Grand Jury. After being unfairly denied access to critical information about this case that was needed to defend him before the Grand Jury, Mr. Weinstein’s attorneys decided that there was not sufficient time to properly prepare Mr. Weinstein.”

Reports suggest the sex act charge stems from an alleged encounter with Lucia Evans, who has claimed Weinstein forced her to perform oral sex on him during what she anticipated would be a casting meeting in 2004. The other rape case relates to a woman who has not yet been publicly identified.

Weinstein has consistently denied any allegations of non-consensual sex.

Since exposes detailing Harvey’s bad behaviour were first published in major U.S. publications in early October (17), over 80 women, including celebrities Rose McGowan, Mira Sorvino, and Salma Hayek, have accused Weinstein of harassment and/or assault.

Julia Roberts is set to present her old pal George Clooney with the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award next month (Jun18).

Roberts will help honour the actor during the annual gala event, which is hosted by the American Film Institute.

During their nearly two decades of friendship, the two have collaborated on several films, including Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve and Money Monster. In 2002, Roberts starred in Clooney’s directorial debut Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, while Clooney produced August: Osage County, which Roberts headlined in 2013.

Roberts previously paid tribute to the Oscar winner in 2013, when she was on hand to present him with the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film at the BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards.

The AFI Life Achievement Award was established by the Board of Directors of the American Film Institute in 1973 and celebrates an individual’s contributions to the film industry throughout their career.

Clooney will be the 46th recipient of the prize, following in the footsteps of last year’s winner Diane Keaton, and stars like Jack Nicholson, Tom Hanks, and Al Pacino.

Clooney was announced as this year’s recipient in October (17).

“George Clooney is America’s leading man,” said AFI’s Board Of Trustees Chair Howard Stringer in a statement. “Director, producer, writer, actor – a modern-day screen icon who combines the glamour of a time gone by with a ferocious passion for ensuring art’s impact echoes beyond the screen. AFI is proud to present him with its 46th Life Achievement Award.”

The event will be held on 7 June (18) at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

Angelina Jolie and David Oyelowo are in talks to play husband and wife in a fantasy prequel to Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland.

Come Away will serve as Brave director Brenda Chapman’s live-action debut.

Based on Marissa Kate Goodhill’s script, the film imagines Peter and Alice growing up as brother and sister, according to Deadline.

They team up to save their parents, played by Jolie and Oyelowo, from despair after the siblings’ older brother dies.

“Angelina and David are going to bring a beautiful chemistry and depth to this magical story, giving audiences a wonderful step outside the expected,” director Chapman says.

“Brenda is a singular storyteller,” Goodhill adds. “Her decades of experience in creating rich fantasy worlds populated by complex characters make her a dream director for this project, which explores how fantasy functions as a way to cope with reality.

“Her thoughtful approach to filmmaking and indomitable talent make her the perfect person to bring this story to life.”

Meanwhile, Jolie has returned to the world of Disney fantasy for the Maleficent sequel, which started shooting outside London earlier this week (beg28May18).

Co-star Elle Fanning has posted backstage snapshots of the pair goofing around on set on Instagram.

In one shot, Angelina dons her title character’s signature horns and a bathrobe as she flashes a peace sign at the camera.

Elle captioned the snap: “It’s bring your mom to work day on the #Maleficent2 set!!!!!”

The sequel also features Chiwetel Ejiofor and Robert Lindsay, while Imelda Staunton, Sam Riley, Juno Temple, and Lesley Manville reprise their characters from the 2014 original.
