Marc Jacobs’ fiance Charly Defrancesco is hoping to tie the knot in Chipotle.
The couple got in engaged in a branch of the Mexican fast food chain in April (18), after Jacobs organised a flash mob-inspired dance amongst a group inside the venue. Following the routine, which was performed to the hit song Kiss by Prince, the designer got down on one knee to ask his partner to marry him and later uploaded the footage of the romantic moment to his Instagram account. And now the couple have started to think about what they want from their big day, Defrancesco has revealed he would be more than happy to return to the site of the proposal.
“I know Marc really, really wants it at the Rainbow Room or the Boom Boom Room but I’d be happy getting married at Chipotle,” the candlemaker told People at The Fashion Group International Night of Stars Gala on Thursday (25Oct). However, he is confident that the pair will not get carried away when it comes to wedding planning.
“We don’t want it to become bridezilla or anything like that but we do want to make it festive and a night we can all be with the people we love,” he smiled.
Following the happy news, many questioned why the fashion mogul selected such an unusual venue to pop the question, but Jacobs insisted that though he was hoping to ask the killer question at a more glamorous location, there was a simple explanation behind the choice.
“It’s (Charly’s) favourite restaurant. We have an annual (tradition),” he previously told WWD. “I wanted to take him out for a romantic dinner on his birthday and he was like, ‘No, I want to go to Chipotle.’ So I knew I had to (propose) somewhere where he wouldn’t suspect that I was going to do that.”
