Dwayne Johnson is saluting U.S. military members by honouring them with a special Under Armour line.
The wrestling icon-turned-action superstar, aka The Rock, has introduced the Veterans Day Collection for his Project Rock athletic brand just ahead of this weekend’s (11Nov18) holiday, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting charity.
The items featured include T-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, and other training gear, all in shades of army green, black, and grey, with pieces bearing the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle actor’s motto, “Blood, Sweat, RESPECT”.
Dwayne has also revamped his popular Project Rock 1 sneakers, which sold out upon its initial launch earlier this year (18). This time, the shoes have been made stronger and tougher, with additional heel and ankle support, as well as a rubber sole for traction.
And he’s making sure service men and women can get their adrenaline pumping while listening to their favourite tunes by adding a camouflage colourway of his wireless headphones, which were designed to be sweat proof to withstand his strenuous workouts.
“Warriors, come out to play,” he wrote on Instagram as he introduced the line. “This upcoming Veteran’s Day, we honor the hardest working men and women in America. Soldiers that thru (sic) grit, guts and loyalty always get the job done.”
“Myself and @underarmour designed a brand new collection honoring these warriors,” Johnson continued.
“This new collection is not just in honor of those who serve, it’s in support of them. Our donation supports @teamrubicon. The veteran run organization doing incredible work in disaster relief and veteran integration. #ProjectRock #UAFreedom #RESPECT #VeteransDayCollection”.
And as the products went on sale on Thursday (08Nov18), Dwayne shared a brief message for fans who’ve served: “My new @underarmour collection is inspired by the hardest working men and women in America. With boundless gratitude and respect ~ DJ.”
“Train hard. Stay strong. Enjoy the gear,” he added.
The Veterans Day Collection is part of the Under Armour Freedom initiative, which recognises the sacrifices made by members of the military with special clothing designs.
