Actress Issa Rae stunned at the Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday (13Jan19) in an exclusive piece from celebrity stylist Jason Rembert’s first-ever fashion range.

The celebrated style professional has served a string of stars, including John Boyega, Zayn Malik, Rita Ora and Ezra Miller, over his hot career, and he is now preparing to enter the fashion industry as a designer with the launch of his debut women’s evening wear collection, named Aliette, at New York Fashion Week next month (Feb19).

Jason dressed Insecure creator and star Issa in a black, three-quarter sleeve corset dress with a sexy high slit for the Critics’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles and he couldn’t have come up with a better way to mark his line’s red carpet premiere.

“Apart from my late mother, Louisanne Aliette, and my beautiful daughter, Harper Aliette, Issa has inspired me daily since I began working with her,” he gushes to Women’s Wear Daily. “She is the epitome of the strong and intelligent women that I hope to reach with Aliette.”

Jason’s fashion brand has been crafted for all of his female clients, who he calls “the strong, intelligent and beautiful women that I’m surrounded by daily”.

“The market is full of options, but I feel like my view is unique,” he adds of his new collection.

Jason’s new line will debut on the runway at New York Fashion Week on 13 February. The stylist-turned-designer, who was honoured with a Stylist of the Year award from Harlem’s Fashion Row in September (19), will make his range available for purchase online and at select retail stores.
