Emma Stone showcased noticeably darker hair as she attended the 2019 Producers Guild Awards on Sunday night (20Jan19).
The 30-year-old actress has become famous for her red locks over the years, and has only changed up her hair shade for movie roles – such as when she went blonde for 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man.
However, it seems the screen star wanted a change for winter, and ditched her auburn tresses for a drastically darker hue.
Emma debuted her new look as she attended the star-studded ceremony at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, representing her movie The Favourite.
Perfectly complementing her newly-dark hair, Emma donned a sunshine yellow Louis Vuitton gown, with an eye-catching bronze necklace which matched her bronze eyeshadow and coral-coloured lipstick.
Her locks were teased into a messy low bun, with some hair left loose on one side of her face.
Emma also sported blonde hair for The Favourite – a transformation which took three separate dye jobs.
The film’s hair and make-up designer Nadia Stacey previously explained to Refinery29: “Emma had just dyed her hair almost black for Battle of the Sexes. Then between that and starting this movie, she went bleach blonde for another project.
“By the time we got her for this movie, she had put a red colour on top of that. Yorgos (Lanthimos, director) was keen on giving her a natural shade of blonde for the film, especially because her character was blonde in real life. So, it took two to three big hair colour sessions before landing on the shade that worked. The whole time I kept thinking, if we keep putting her hair through this, it will snap right off!”
