Actress Camilla Belle relies on beauty tips passed down by the women who raised her.

The 32 year old has become known for her fashion choices and bold makeup and tells Us Weekly she received helpful advice from her mother and grandmother early on that has stuck with her.

“My mom always told me to wash my face entirely and moisturise and I used to be quite bad about putting sunscreen on every morning, but now I do,” she shares. “I don’t leave the house without putting sunscreen on my face, so those are things that I’m now sort of adapting as I’ve gotten older.”

Her mother has also been her go-to resource for style inspiration over the years.

“I have to give a lot of credit to my mom,” Camilla explains. “She has been my stylist and clothes extraordinaire my entire life, so we kind of work on everything together. We’re really inspired by Elizabeth Taylor and old Hollywood (glamour), so if anything, I’ll turn towards photos of her.“

The brunette beauty also swears by a tip handed down to her by her grandmother.

“My grandma was a really stunning woman and even when she was almost 80 years old, she would never leave the house without putting on her lipstick, even if it was to walk from one corner to the other,” she says.

“She didn’t have to have any other makeup on, but she had to put on her lipstick,” she added. “I think there’s something to be said about that and always keeping up appearances in a way.”

And so, just like grandma, the star always puts on a little makeup when she’s heading out, sharing that mascara is her go-to item.

“That’s my thing,” she smiles. “Or I’ll at least curl my eyelashes. I think I picked that up from my grandma. She wouldn’t leave (the house) without adding that one touch.”
