Tess Holliday finds it hard to source out vintage finds because of her size.

The model, who is proud of her size 26 frame (U.S. 22), is a big fan of retro kaftans, and often sports one when out and about.

However, she has now told The Guardian in a candid chat that finding second-hand clothes that fit is often a tough task.

“It’s hard when you’re buying vintage clothes to find something that fits your body, especially when you’re fat,” she stated.

For the accompanying photo, which was taken at a friend’s dinner party, mother-of-two Tess poses in her favourite vintage kaftan, which she picked up from a thrift store near her Los Angeles home a few years ago.

“The woman who ran the store had saved it for me – I live nearby and she knows I love vintage kaftans,” the 33-year-old shared. “Then, of course, a negative voice crept in, saying: ‘It’s not going to fit you,’ because it’s very rare that I can wear anything off the rack – but it did. It was right after I had had my second child; when I tried it on, it instantly lifted my spirits. Since then, it has become my favourite outfit. I’ve worn it in Palm Springs with big earrings and fun accessories; I wore it to the series premiere of Queer Eye; I’ve even dressed it up and done red carpets in it.”

Calling it one of her prized possessions, the curvy star noted that the garment makes her feel confident and beautiful.
