Ciara is “so proud” of how her hair has grown back following a disastrous chemical treatment.

The Goodies singer is always one to watch on the red carpet, and since launching her career in 2003, has built up a reputation for her glamorous ensembles and eye-catching hairstyles.

Recently, Ciara has ditched her long extensions for her natural tresses, and on Sunday (28Apr19), she uploaded a video to Instagram showing how she can now tie her hair up into a ponytail.

“The first time I got a relaxer when I was young, it took out my hair. I was devastated. I never thought my hair would grow back. So proud,” she captioned the video.

A relaxer is a type of cream or lotion typically used by people with natural curls which makes hair easier to straighten by chemically “relaxing” the strands.

In the video, Ciara teased fans that she would divulge all of her hair “secrets” at a later date.

The clip has quickly racked up over 1.8 million views, with fans praising the star’s decision to embrace her own hair instead of experimenting with wigs or hairpieces.

“Long hair don’t care,” one user wrote in the comments, while a second stated, “Because we’re not meant to get relaxers Queen our hair texture is meant to stay in its natural hair state #teamnatural.”

Another follower suggested that Ciara’s new look is all down to her settled home life, with the 33-year-old having been blissfully happy since marrying Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson in 2016.

Together they have daughter Sienna, who turned two on Sunday, and she also is mum to four-year-old son Future from her on again, off again relationship with rapper Future.

“Her hair is long because she got rid of all the negative stuff,” they insisted.

As part of the promotion of her Beauty Marks album, which is set to be unveiled in May, Ciara also posted a make-up-free selfie to Instagram last week, and encouraged her followers to do the same for a project celebrating the new record – her seventh studio offering.

Naomi Scott’s Aladdin costumes are ‘metaphors for her character’s journey’

Naomi Scott’s costumes for her role as Princess Jasmine in Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of the animated classic Aladdin were specifically created with the character’s narrative in mind.

The actress opened up about her movie wardrobe during an interview with Entertainment Weekly, telling reporters that the aesthetics of her looks were secondary to what the garments represent.

“If she’s wearing something that’s structured and beautiful, it can’t just be the sake of it looking great, it needs to be connected to the story,” the 25-year-old reflected. “I think that was really important and I think we got the balance.”

Costume designer Michael Wilkinson shared the Power Rangers star’s views, and suggested that conceptualising and creating the costumes allowed him to further explore the Guy Ritchie-directed movie’s characters’ “complex psychologies and interesting personalities”.

He went on to claim that, although the film is a “celebration of the beauty of Arab culture”, he didn’t want that to be the sole purpose of the costumes. Instead, he wanted the end result to highlight a broad spectrum of Eastern cultures, bringing together various aspects of Arabian, Indian, and Asian heritage.

“When you’re designing the costumes for a live action film that’s based on animation, there’s an opportunity to take these characters and give them literally more depth and details,” he considered. “It was wonderful to explore who Jasmine really was and be able to express that through her many costumes in the film.”

Aladdin will hit U.K. cinemas on 22 May (19), and will make its U.S. theatrical debut two days later.

Actress Minka Kelly is determined to avoid the embarrassing looks she experimented with in high school.

The Titans cast member appears has been named among People magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People this month (Apr19), posing without makeup for the publication’s annual issue, but she admits she hasn’t always been so comfortable in her own skin and can always recall a high school nightmare that reminds her she wasn’t always glamorous.

“I wore way more makeup in high school than I wear today,” she tells People. “I did the brown lip liner with the foundation on the inside, a lot of liquid cat eyeliner and my eyebrows were plucked almost all the way off. That was a look.”

“I’ll never do that again,” she adds. “And I’m so lucky my eyebrows grew back!”

These days, the 38 year old has adopted a much more low-key routine.

“I don’t like a lot of fuss,” she shares. “And I’m not very precious when it comes to a lot of things… I’ll do a little concealer under the eyes and a little blush and Chapstick and curl my eyelashes and mascara. That’s about it. And I have had the same nighttime regimen since I was 19: I wash, tone, use a serum and do facemasks a couple times a week. For me, less is more.”

The brunette beauty also reveals she was once a lot more self-conscious when it came to embracing her looks.

“I look at old photos and (remember) how afraid I was to just be in my skin,” she says. “I try to be mindful of that now. And I’m embracing (my looks) more.”

Rosario Dawson’s maintains her flawless complexion by drinking clay as part of her beauty routine.

The Sin City star swears by the unconventional self-care method, revealing it has boosted her health as well.

“I’ve been starting to drink clay lately,” Dawson told The Cut. “There’s really good, fine, food-grade clay that helps to clean out your system and rid you of parasites.”

The 39 year old also uses clay products as part of her face-wash and cleansing routine.

“I’m not a retinol and acids-type person; I can’t do all of that kind of stuff. It’s about finding the stuff that works for me,” she added.

And the women’s rights activist is thrilled that there have been changes to the perception of beauty in recent years, noting she supports the outcry against airbrushing celebrity photos.

“One thing that’s coming up quite often now, which I think is really great, is this push back on all of the photo airbrushing,” she told Glamour. “I’m going to be 40 this year. It makes sense that I’m going to have wrinkles.”

Dawson has experienced her share of airbrushing following magazine photoshoots and admits the decision to alter her looks left her feeling self conscious.

“They’ve airbrushed scars and stretchmarks and all kinds of things out over the years that make it look impossible,” she scolded. “I’m starting to look at photos, and I get body dysmorphia looking at my own pictures. Technically, I supposedly look like that, but I don’t. (I’ll look and think), ‘I don’t have that waist!’ It’s making it seem like something’s wrong with you.”

These days, she has learned that peace from within is one of the best beauty tools, and insists meditation helps her retain a stunning glow.

“Meditation, I think, is key,” she told the publication. “You’ll feel the impacts of it. They’ve done all the research around it to see how it affects your brain and development. It’s incredible. It’s recommended to do 20 minutes, twice a day.

“It sounds crazy to people. It’s amazing how much more time I feel like I have in a day when I do it, because I’m so focused that my body relaxes and lets me show up much better in the time that I do have. So it’s interesting that by taking some time off, I actually get to show up.”

Actress Allison Janney depends on her extensive sunglasses collection to look chic while out and about in Hollywood.

The former The West Wing star expresses herself through eyewear that is both practical and stylish, utilising prescription lenses to hide tiredness and save time when she’s in a rush and hasn’t applied makeup.

“When you live in Los Angeles, a great pair of sunglasses is crucial,” she tells InStyle. “The hair and makeup process in this town is a lot, so you have to have shades to throw on that’ll make you look instantly chic when you’ve stayed up too late and don’t have time for any of that.”

Janney has developed quite the collection over the years and chooses her accessories to match her wardrobe.

“I’ve had bad eyesight for most of my life and hate wearing contacts, so I’ve collected dozens of prescription sunglasses over the years,” she adds. “I keep them all in a cabinet right by the door so I can swap them out every day, depending on my outfit and what I’m doing. I have lots of frames that I love, but lately I’ve become obsessed with the ones by the L.A.-based brand Jacques Marie Mage.”

The Oscar winner appreciates the wide range of offerings the brand has and the fact that proceeds from purchases benefit a good cause.

“They all have beautiful, luxe shapes and colourful tinted lenses,” she notes, “and for every pair you purchase, the brand donates to organisations that protect American wildlife and national parks, which is just the icing on the cake. I wear the thick green frames most often to work on the set of (TV comedy) Mom, and everyone says I look like a Greek shipping magnate.”

The 59 year old also depends on her frames to enjoy one of her favourite pastimes – people watching.

“When I want to go incognito, I wear the dark navy ones,” she shares. “I love to people-watch, especially at the airport, but unfortunately my height always makes me stand out. These glasses are like having a force field on, so I have more freedom to look around. When I put on the gold-wire aviators, I just feel cool – I know I look so much better in them than I do out of them.”

Model Tales Soares has died after collapsing on the catwalk at Sao Paulo Fashion Week in Brazil.

The 26-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital but could not be revived, and was pronounced dead.

He was taking part in a show for Ocksa on Saturday (27Apr19) when he appeared to trip over his shoelaces and fall on the runway. Members of the audience initially thought his actions were part of the show, which was halted to allow paramedics to carry him offstage.

Organisers of Fashion Week confirmed Soares’ death on Twitter, writing: “We’re sorry for his loss and send our deepest condolences to Tales’ family… (We are providing) all necessary assistance at this sad time.”

There were no signs that the model was ill before the fashion event – he posted photos on his Instagram account hours before he hit the runway.

An autopsy on the Brazilian model is expected to be completed on Monday.

Following Soares’ death, his agent Rogerio Campaneli said: “Everything happened so suddenly and unexpectedly. Doctors suspect that Tales might have had a congenital problem. From videos, they believe he died on the catwalk. It was all so fast: he kissed a friend behind the scenes who was following him, walked out confidently as usual, then suddenly stumbled, lost his footing and fell.”

Meanwhile, his sister Gabrielle Gomes said she was “scared and devastated” by her sibling’s death, and added: “Me and my mother spoke to Tales by video call before the (show) and he said he was well and said he had just finished eating a carrot. We’re very scared and devastated by what happened. He was very healthy, ate healthily and exercised every day. He did cross fit and yoga.”

Soares, who also used the name Tales Cotta, was praised for his “exemplary behaviour” in a tribute on Instagram by bosses at his agency, Base MGT.

“Tales never presented or complained about health problems,” the statement reads. “He had a healthy diet (he was a vegetarian), did not use illegal substances and was in full condition to participate in the parade. And we ask for respect at this moment of deep sadness.”

Hailey Bieber has hit back at fans who criticised her for being too tanned.

The beauty is currently on vacation with husband Justin Bieber in the Bahamas, where the pair first became engaged in July last year (18).

On Sunday (29Apr19), the star took to her Instagram Stories to slam fans that had criticised her newly-tanned appearance, and joked that she’ll try to avoid the sun for the rest of her break.

“So today the internet is mad at me for getting too tan!!! shoot!!!” the model quipped. “I’ll do my best not to get so much sun next time I’m on vacation!”

The online criticism is nothing new for the high-profile couple, and Hailey used her Instagram Stories once again last week to clap back at trolls that had suggested that her Love Yourself hitmaker husband “belongs” with ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, 26.

“You little internet kiddos need to learn how to move on for real,” the 22-year-old beauty began the post. “We’re adults that have better things to do than waste time explaining something just so you can stop your delusional fantasies.”

In a separate post, Hailey used the platform to remind her followers that nobody is perfect.

“Just a reminder: none of us have this thing called life figured out,” she stated.

Justin, 25, also addressed the fans’ comments, and pleaded with them to stop speculating about the couple’s relationship online.

“Please stop reading into things so much and making something out of nothing,” he stated in a post.

Tom Ford will never be convinced to start creating wedding dresses.

The designer served stints as creative director at Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent before launching his eponymous fashion and beauty brand in 2006, and has more recently delved into filmmaking with movies A Single Man and Nocturnal Animals.

While Ford is highly successful in the design world, he has no desire to enter the wedding market.

“(I refuse to design wedding dresses) because every girl has an idea of their wedding and what they want to wear is in their head and so essentially they don’t need a designer,” he said in an interview for The New York Times. “They just need a dressmaker. And it’s very hard to design a wedding dress because it’s more like, ‘Well, no, I always wanted to look like Grace Kelly,’ so there’s not a lot of creativity to it. It’s not fun as a designer.”

Ford is the go-to designer for many Hollywood A-listers, with his clients including Amy Adams, Julianne Moore, Kim Kardashian, and Rihanna. Yet, the fashion star is adamant that he generally finds red carpet ensembles to be rather boring.

“You get stylists calling you, saying, ‘She only wants to wear yellow, she wants strapless.’ People don’t wear fashion, really; they wear a kind of vintage. The one time I thought they all looked great was last year at the Golden Globes when they all wore black,” the 57-year-old smiled.

Elsewhere in the candid chat, Ford confessed that he doesn’t wear underwear, thinks kilts are the only acceptable way for a man to wear a skirt, and that he hates “Champagne breath”.

“It’s like vomit. It is! White wine and Champagne give you terrible breath. It’s like bulimic breath,” he insisted.

Former Victoria’s Secret Angel Erin Heatherton has filed for bankruptcy.

The American model, real name Erin Heather Bubley, launched her fashion career in 2006 when she landed a runway gig with Diane von Furstenberg, and later went on to model for the U.S. lingerie giant from 2008 until 2013.

However, Heatherton has faced a number of legal battles in recent years, including a lawsuit over a failed clothing line and another fight over unpaid legal bills, and according to editors at The Blast, she has now filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy and is over $500,000 (£386,000) in debt.

Court documents obtained by the outlet claim Heatherton has approximately $6,465 (£4,994) in assets and $560,242 (£432,833) in liabilities. Much of the debt relates to credit cards she began using in 2010, the year before she began a high-profile relationship with actor Leonardo DiCaprio. The couple parted ways in October 2012 after spending nearly a year together.

Heatherton currently owes a total of $221,601 (£171,000) on three credit cards, and another $201,000 (£155,000) to City National Bank, $100,000 (£77,000) over one of her legal battles, and an estimated $41,000 (£31,000) in back taxes.

The bankruptcy case is ongoing. Heatherton has not yet commented on filing.

In 2017, the 30-year-old was hit with a lawsuit by her business partner Clare Byrne over their failed sportswear line RetroActive, with the stylist alleging that the model had abandoned the project.

Heatherton later counter-sued, demanding Byrne return her initial $25,000 (£19,000) investment, though in July 2018, the Illinois native was hit was another barrier when her lawyer Stephanie Adwar asked to drop her as a client because she reportedly “failed and refused to pay” her legal bills.

Adwar was allegedly owed $1,400 (£1,100), plus additional legal fees at the time, but Heatherton reportedly informed her that she couldn’t afford to pay the bill and planned to file for bankruptcy.

Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer are among the stars to appear in the campaign for Chanel’s new J12 watch.

Executives for the French luxury label unveiled the design on Monday (29Apr19), with the elegant timepiece available with either a white or black ceramic strap.

The accompanying marketing imagery has the catchphrase, “It’s all about seconds,” and in one grey-toned clip from the photoshoot helmed by Brigitte Lacombe, Campbell is seen posing with the watch.

“What time is it? It’s now five o’clock. I’m not one of those people that wants time to stop. My favourite time of the day is sunset, the golden hour. Everything’s that beautiful, golden light. Everyone looks so beautiful in that light – no one can look bad,” the British supermodel states in the video, according to WWD.

While in her video, German beauty Schiffer reflects on how she was spotted by a model scout in a nightclub in Dusseldorf in 1987 when she was just 17, and how her fashion career took off from there.

“A watch is to tell the time, but it’s also an expression of what you like – a fashion expression, so who you are. I time all my meetings because I don’t like to be late. Because I’m German,” she smiled.

The campaign also features appearances from a diverse range of women, including Chanel brand ambassadors like Keira Knightley, Vanessa Paradis and her 19-year-old daughter Lily-Rose Depp, as well as French actresses Carole Bouquet and Anna Mouglalis, Hollywood icon Ali MacGraw, and Chinese star Liu Wen. The only man to be cast is Hong Kong-based singer/actor William Chan.

Regarding the concept, Chanel’s Thomas du Pre de Saint-Maur explained that the objective of the campaign was to explore each person’s “extremely different” experiences with time.

“This is what we wanted to tell, through the portraits of a certain number of women, we can explain that time is something extremely personal while at the same time, we are all more or less linked by this subjective experience with time,” he told the fashion publication.

Chanel’s J12 watch is priced from $6,050 (£4,675).
