Diane von Furstenberg’s granddaughter Talita von Furstenberg is joining the family business.
The 19-year-old, who is the daughter of Prince Alexander von Furstenberg and Alexandra Miller, is a full-time student at America’s prestigious Georgetown University.
However, Talita is now making moves to follow in her grandmother’s stylish footsteps and has unveiled a 23-piece line named TVF for DVF for the brand.
“I designed TVF for DVF as a reflection of my personal style – feminine and soft,” she wrote on Instagram. “The entire collection gives off happy, warm, and effortless vibes that make it easy to blend into your own wardrobe. I can’t wait to see how you wear your TVF.”
Talita has been travelling to New York City when she has free time to work on the range with DVF’s chief design officer, Nathan Jenden.
The collection is aimed at a younger audience than the label’s regular consumer, with pieces including floral print dresses, pastel-coloured two-piece ensembles and maxi dresses.
Regarding the collection, Talita explained in an interview with People that she is pleased with the way the clothes seamlessly fit within DVF’s current offerings.
“The DVF women represents a working woman, she’s professional, sexy, looking for effortless clothes that shift from office to evening,” the teenager shared. “The TVF girl sits within a younger, more contemporary demographic. My goal is the TVF customer will develop into the DVF brand as she matures and her needs change. I wanted it to feel like its own independent unit while still complementing and honouring the brand my grandmother has built.”
Talita plans on designing two lines each year; one for spring and one for fall. Items are priced from $128 to $298 (£99 – £230).
