A$AP Ferg has teamed up with Revlon on a bold new campaign which celebrates diversity.
The rapper and songwriter, born Darold D. Brown Ferguson Jr., is known for his eclectic sense of style and previously fronted Jimmy Choo’s fall/winter 2017 marketing imagery.
Now, Ferg has teamed up with bosses at U.S. beauty giant Revlon on the Step Out of Line campaign, also featuring brand ambassador and dancer Mette Towley, to celebrate the launch of the So Fierce collection.
“I love any opportunity to celebrate women which is exactly what I get to do with Revlon’s Step Out of Line campaign,” said Ferg. “We share a vision, I’m not afraid to live boldly and Revlon encourages women to do the same.”
The main campaign shot depicts Mette sitting and gazing at the camera in an empty skate park, while Ferg rests his head on her shoulder.
An accompanying three-minute video uses the 30-year-old’s track Wam as the soundtrack and shows Mette, who is sporting the So Fierce Vinyl Liner and Mascara, on a journey to harness her talents.
Ferg makes an appearance in the clip too, with other members of the diverse cast including Jamaican-Ghanaian dancer Alton Mason, model and stylist Dara Allen, skateboarder, entrepreneur and restaurateur Tyshawn Jones, skateboarder Beatrice Domond, skateboarder and actor Emmanuel Henry Barco, as well as singer-songwriter Ama Lou.
Revlon’s global brand president, Silvia Galfo, commented that the campaign exemplifies the brand’s Live Boldly ethos – being bold and confident through fearless self-expression.
“Step Out of Line encourages women to hold nothing back and take a stance for what they believe in – and realise their potential with confidence, strength and optimism,” she shared. “Revlon continues to champion bold and fearless talent who represent the world around us. Through their beauty, determination and attitude, they reflect what it means to live boldly.”
