Naomi Campbell insists on doing her own grocery shopping as she finds the process “therapeutic”.

Last month, the British supermodel hit headlines when she opened up about her unusual eating habits and claimed that she can go for days without consuming any food in a TV interview.

However, in a new video for her YouTube channel, Naomi has given followers a glimpse into her diet by showing them how she shops for groceries at Whole Foods Market.

“I need to do my own groceries. I can’t order them online,” she stated to the camera. “I need to choose my own fruit in case they come bruised. I need to see it for my own eyes. I find grocery shopping therapeutic but today I am in a bit of a rush.”

As Naomi zoomed around the store, stopping to pose for selfies with fans, she went on to explain that she has had to drastically alter her diet in recent months for health reasons. Specifically, she now avoids foods containing gluten, wheat or dairy.

“As you get older, your system changes. I found out in January, no gluten, no wheat, no dairy. I’m like, ‘What the f**k am I going to eat?'” the 49-year-old sighed. “All my comfort food just went down the drain and I’m sad, ’cause that’s the kind of things I like to munch on at night when I get back from work or an event and I want to watch c**ppy TV, like everybody else in the world. Love a little munchy on something, carbohydrates for sure… a little comfort food. And now, it’s just been stripped out of my life.”

During the shopping trip, Naomi purchased lots of fruits, including Japanese pears, grapes, peaches, and mandarins, as well as basil, spicy olives, raisins, cashews, walnuts, and coconut yoghurt.

But she did note that she still struggles with cravings for sweets.

“Now that I’ve stopped smoking, I tend to want to pick up candy. I need to eat more fruit and not candy,” she smiled. “I still like candy, yes, and I still like chocolate, but I find that the chocolate gives me a tummy ache, so I’ve had to cut down on that.”
