Lili Reinhart has been appointed as the spokesperson for cosmetics brand CoverGirl.

The Riverdale actress, who has previously worked with brands including H&M, Bongo, Dermalogica and The Mighty Company, announced she was the latest CoverGirl on Instagram on Wednesday morning.

“Meet your newest @COVERGIRL (lipstick emoji) I am pinching myself at the opportunity to represent such an iconic make-up brand and be the face of their newest line, coming very soon,” she teased. “As a COVERGIRL, my goal is to advocate for confidence & self-acceptance in a world where so many young men and women feel compelled to change themselves. I can’t wait to start this journey. #EasyBreezyBeautiful.”

Representatives at the American company shared the same picture, showing the Hustlers star wearing minimal make-up, and added, “SURPRISE! The secret is out: @lilireinhart is our newest #COVERGIRL! We’re SO excited to welcome such an authentic, inspirational, talented actress & author to the Easy Breezy family.”

The 23-year-old is the first CoverGirl to be appointed since 2017, when a diverse range of stars were introduced as a part of a re-branding effort. Of the group, Insecure actress Issa Rae, model Maye Musk and TV personality Ayesha Curry have remained with the brand.

Erika Woods, vice president of marketing for the CoverGirl brand at Coty, told WWD that Reinhart was chosen thanks to her popularity with the Generation Z market.

“She represents someone who we haven’t explored in this (new cast of CoverGirls) – she has a strong following amongst Gen Z and she’s inspirational,” she said. “She’s honest and raw and a great role model for young girls.”

The actress will front a new product launching in early 2020.

Paris Hilton can’t stop adding to her Juicy Couture tracksuit collection.

The socialite/TV personality was one of the major trendsetters of the early 2000s, and when she was not hitting the nightclubs in tiny party dresses, was often seen sporting velour tracksuit sets from California-based label Juicy Couture which she matched with Von Dutch T-shirts.

Yet, Paris has never grown tired of wearing tracksuits when off-duty, and in an interview with The Guardian, she shared that she has a wardrobe full of them.

“Growing up, I always had my own sense of style. I loved being unique and original and coming up with my own trends,” she told the publication. “When I go to a party, I love to be glamorous and go all out; I like to sparkle and feel amazing. However, my everyday wear is very comfortable. I love Juicy Couture’s velour tracksuits; I probably own 100 of them in every colour. That’s my uniform when I’m chilling at home or going to the beach – anything that doesn’t involve a red carpet.”

Paris went on to name Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham as two of her style icons, and also noted that she appreciates her younger sister Nicky Hilton’s “understated” fashion choices.

Elsewhere in the chat, the blonde star reflected on her favourite style moments and selected the silver chainmail Julien Macdonald dress she wore to her 21st birthday party in 2001 as one of her top looks.

“It’s amazing that it has become so iconic; everybody wants to wear it. I feel proud every time I see someone wearing a version of this look,” the 38-year-old added.

John Varvatos has teamed up with Led Zeppelin on an exclusive capsule collection.

The menswear designer is no stranger to collaboration, having previously teamed up with the likes of Nick Jonas and Guns N’ Roses on limited-edition lines.

Now, Varvatos is celebrating the iconic English rock band with a range evoking the aesthetic of original members Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and late drummer John Bonham.

“Working with Led Zeppelin on this collaboration is a dream come true. Their music and style has had a huge influence on me,” said Varvatos. “It’s been incredible developing this collection with the band and creating clothes that represent the roots of their style, but at the same time are extremely relevant today.”

An accompanying campaign was shot by photographer and director Mark Seliger and features model Miles McMillan.

The collection includes logo T-shirts, shirts, black jeans, a brown leather coat, a velvet jacket, and two scarves. There is also a velvet blazer with splatter print and an updated take on a vintage circa 1970s Led Zeppelin tour jacket.

With regards to the final collection, Page praised Varvatos’ vision for the garments.

“Having had the great pleasure to work with John personally on numerous collaborations in the past including my book, the Yardbirds, and the John Varvatos spring 2013 ad campaign with Gary Clark Jr. I’m pleased that there is now a Led Zeppelin collection. I was really impressed with how everything came out,” he shared, while Plant added: “The Varvatos style is unique – he’s out on his own… Above and beyond the crowd below.”

Led Zeppelin x John Varvatos is now available to purchase from the brand’s website and boutiques. Items are priced from $118 – $2,698 (£98 – £2,138).

Ashley Graham has launched a new workout series on YouTube.

The model, who is currently pregnant with her first child, announced the launch of Thank Bod with Ashley Graham this week by sharing the first introductory YouTube video on her Instagram account.

“When’s the last time you looked in the mirror and said, ‘Thank you?'” she says in the clip alongside footage of her working out in the gym. “We all have complicated relationships with our bodies. As mine has been changing in some really new, interesting ways, I’ve been reminded of how awesome bodies really truly are. I started Thank Bod in hopes of reminding you to stand in your magic even on days when you’re not feeling so great.

“Working out doesn’t have to be about fixating on insecurities. It can be fun, empowering and mindful. Forget about showing off or keeping up, it’s just time to feel good – right here on my YouTube channel. So, all you’ve got to do now is come be my workout buddy. Throw on your favourite workout clothes, grab some water and get ready to Thank Bod.”

The 32-year-old has already shared two workout tutorials on her YouTube channel. In “Love Your Booty”, Ashley encourages viewers to join her in doing squats, tap outs and leg extensions while wearing an exercise band around her thighs, and in “Cardio Peace Treaty” she talks viewers through her circuits, which include gentle jogging, modified jumping jacks, and using an agility ladder.

“Being a mommy-to-be, I wanted to show other women that we can still show our bodies self-love and gratitude during pregnancy, while also building our mental strength and determination,” Ashley explained to Shape about the show. “So, in this series, we’re meeting our abs, loving our booties, coming to peace with cardio, and reaching our body goals.”

Adut Akech calls out Elle Germany over tone-deaf feature on black models

Adut Akech has slammed editors at Elle Germany over a tone-deaf feature about black models.

On Tuesday, the fashion watchdogs behind Instagram account Diet Prada took aim at the publication over its November 2019 issue, which had a white model on the cover along with the tagline, “Back to Black,” and an article inside about black models titled “Black is back”, in which Janaye Furman was misidentified as Naomi Chin Wing.

Now, South Sudanese-Australian star Akech has expressed her dismay over the magazine’s attempt to highlight diversity in the fashion industry, and alongside screenshots on her Instagram Stories, wrote, “WTF (what the f**k). This is so sickening and makes me furious,” and, “Same thing, different girl every time SMH (shaking my head).”

In addition, the 19-year-old was dismayed to find one user defending the editors at Elle Germany in the comments section of the post and alleging there are “less than two per cent of Afro-Germans living in Germany”.

Accordingly, Akech fired back in response: “There’s always that ground of people that have no idea is what is being spoken of, let alone what they’re talking about themselves. But yet are so quick to jump on the defence side and look like this.”

Back in August, Akech accused editors at Australia’s Who Magazine of racism after they published a picture of Flavia Lazarus instead of her. She told her followers that she was left “insulted and disrespected” by the error, with bosses later apologising for the mistake.

In their original post about the latest issue of Elle Germany, the moderators at Diet Prada noted that they were baffled by the editorial decisions at the publication.

“Ironic when they, along with much of the fashion industry, have been complicit in denying visibility to black models until relatively recently. Oh, and apparently, they can’t actually tell models apart,” they wrote. “You can’t make this stuff up!”

Representatives for Elle Germany are yet to comment on the backlash.

Naomi Campbell slams Elle Germany over ‘insulting’ feature on black models

Naomi Campbell has blasted editors at Elle Germany over a tone-deaf feature about black models.

On Tuesday, the fashion watchdogs behind Instagram account Diet Prada took aim at the publication over its November 2019 issue, which had a white model on the cover along with the tagline “Back to Black,” and an article inside about black models titled “Black is Back”, in which Janaye Furman was misidentified as Naomi Chin Wing.

In response, British supermodel Naomi has taken to Instagram to express her dismay over the magazine’s misplaced attempt to highlight diversity in the fashion industry and begged editor-in-chief Sabine Nedelchev to reach out to either herself or other pioneers, like Bethann Hardison and Iman, for advice.

“Your mistake it is highly insulting in every way, you go further to say that BACK TO BLACK, even if you ment (sic) the fashion it’s misleading on your headline and Type !!!” she began. “I’ve said countless of times we are not a TREND. We are here to STAY. It’s OK to celebrate models of colour but please do it in an ELEGANT and RESPECTFUL way.”

Naomi went on to comment that she finds it “very disappointing” when models are mislabelled in magazine spreads and noted that she has recently noticed other rising stars being confused with South Sudanese-Australian model Adut Akech.

“Do you know what it feels like to do the job and not even be given the right name credit? Very disappointing to say the least. If you would like a conversation to know how to have a diverse mind we are here to sit and accommodate,” the 49-year-old fired. “It’s very important for a publication to be culturally sensitive and give credit where it’s due. We all need to unite on this matter.”

Accordingly, a number of Naomi’s celebrity pals shared their support for her stance in the comments section of her post, including make-up artist Sir John, Ebonee Davis, Linda Evangelista, and Pierpaolo Piccioli, with Bethann writing a lengthy note insisting the magazine bosses should be “embarrassed by our reactions”.

Representatives for Elle Germany are yet to respond to the backlash.

Alexander Wang is to host a unique talk show in which he interviews celebrity guests in bathrooms.

The 35-year-old New York-based designer has partnered with short-form video-streaming platform Quibi to front the new programme, which will be called Potty Talk.

Wang will host intimate conversations in the toilets of exclusive events, and each episode will feature him alongside a guest host serving as bathroom attendants while they interview stars and take part in unusual games.

“Being given the opportunity to recontextualise the talk show format is a dream,” he said in a statement. “Pushing the boundaries on an institutionalised model is something I’m always up for. I’m very excited to work with the innovative and creative team at Quibi who are leading the conversation in short-form entertainment.”

Potty Talk will be produced by Wang, Frank Scherma, and Jon Kamen, with Todd Shemarya and Josh Harrison serving as executive producers.

In a press release, the producers also explained that they decided to hold the new series in a bathroom because it is “a safe haven where one can find refuge from the crowds, let their guard down and have a private place to let loose and gossip.”

Wang shared the Potty Talk news with Instagram followers on Tuesday by simply uploading a shot of a bathroom stall with a bottle of Champagne on the floor, along with a lipstick-stained glass.

“Coming soon to @quibi,” he wrote.

The designer has his own YouTube channel too, and back in 2016, he created a fashion channel on Apple Music.

Emma Thompson penned the Last Christmas screenplay after receiving George Michael’s blessing.

The actress, who has a supporting role in Paul Feig’s upcoming romantic comedy, was tasked with developing a story based on the 1986 holiday hit George recorded when he was a member of pop duo Wham!

However, she revealed during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that she was originally reluctant to take on the project as Last Christmas wasn’t her favourite festive song, but later began writing the story with her husband Greg Wise, and eventually sent it to George to get his approval.

“He was just the loveliest guy you could imagine,” Emma told host Jimmy Fallon. “(He loved) all of these themes in the movie, he was passionate about homelessness, and he had this great social conscience.”

Sadly, George passed away at the age of 53 on Christmas Day in 2016.

“I got really enthused and we started to write, and then of course he had that tragic early death…” the two-time Oscar winner explained. “So we lost him and I miss him so much.

“I wish he was here because I know he’d love it, because the film’s like being hugged, and all of his music – we’ve got 15 of his songs, including a new one at the end – is so cool. Heal the Pain, which is my favourite of his songs, it’s like it was written for the movie.”

Last Christmas, which stars Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding, will hit cinemas on 15 November.

Harry Styles has admitting to turning down the role of Prince Eric in Disney’s upcoming live-action remake of The Little Mermaid because of “a few things”.

Earlier this year, rumours swirled that the former One Direction singer had been tapped to appear in the reboot of the 1989 animated classic, although it was later reported the star had opted out of the role.

Speaking with presenters Roman Kemp and Sonny Jay for Britain’s Capital Breakfast radio show on Tuesday, Harry opened up about why he walked away from the project.

Explaining he had been approached by the team behind the flick, the Sign of the Times hitmaker said: “I had, you know, a meeting with Rob Marshall the director, who is the most wonderful man, he’s great.”

However, Harry became uncomfortable as he tried to avoid giving the reason for why he pulled out of the high-profile role.

“And it was just, honestly, it was just a few things. It just, it wasn’t…erm… I think it’s gonna be amazing, obviously it’s an amazing film, and I can tell Roman’s watching how I’m kind of worming,” the 25-year-old joked, acknowledging that he didn’t want to answer the question.

Harry made his acting debut in Christopher Nolan’s Oscar-winning war film Dunkirk in 2017 but has yet to build on his screen career. In addition to the Disney project, he auditioned for the role of Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s biopic of the iconic singer but Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor Austin Butler got the part instead.

Singer/actress Halle Bailey is the only star confirmed for The Little Mermaid so far, which begins production next year, with Javier Bardem, Melissa McCarthy, and Awkwafina all believed to be in negotiations for other key characters.
