Jennifer Lopez was inspired by billionaire Warren Buffett when naming her new fragrance.
The superstar has just unveiled Promise, her 25th perfume, and at a recent press event in New York City, she explained that the name of the scent was derived from a comment once made to her by the American businessman.
“He told me something that really resonated with me. He said, ‘A brand is a promise,'” Lopez explained. “I just thought it was a perfect time in my life to name a fragrance Promise, because every time that we create something new, it’s a promise to give you something of quality, something that will make your life better, something that will make you feel sexy, something that will make you feel beautiful.”
The scent is available in three sizes ranging from $45 to $65 (£36- £52). It contains notes of honeysuckle, sandalwood, and cashmere wood infused with crystallised amber.
Lopez, 50, launched her perfume empire back in 2002, and it is now reportedly worth more than $2 billion (£1.6 billion). Her debut fragrance Glow is credited with changing the celebrity fragrance market and is still one of the most successful perfume collections to date.
The mother-of-two also revealed that she uses an oil-based fragrance which is based on Glow most days.
“I have an oil fragrance that I use when my skin is still damp right out of the shower. That’s my skin smell. Then I’ll spray another on top of my clothes. I have 20 bottles of all our fragrances and then other brands that love as well, and I’ll just pick one up and spritz on top of the clothes,” Lopez told Allure.
