Winnie Harlow has made a splash by dressing as Marilyn Monroe for Halloween.

The Canadian model took to Instagram on Thursday to upload three photos of her dressed up as the Hollywood icon in her 1953 movie Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, specifically the Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend sequence.

Winnie topped off her look with blue contact lenses, a slash of red lipstick and a bright blonde wig.

“Recreating an iconic Marilyn Monroe look has always been a dream of mine. My obsession runs deep. So being able to have such an amazing team help make this dream a reality blows my mind,” she captioned the snaps, before going on to credit her glam squad for their work. “Thank you @jamiemcfarland (Jamie McFarland, designer) for creating each custom look. Thank you @hbjbofficial (Jordan Jay Brumant, hairstylist) for slaying the hell out of this blonde moment!! Thank you @adamburrell (Adam Burrell, make-up artist) for literally giving me the embodiment of Marilyn through beat! Thank you @__ashabriana for killing the planning for this whole idea. And of course a HUGE Thank You to @sanchezzalba (Albert Sanchez and Pedro Zalba, photographers) for not only offering to shoot this look, but opening your home studio to me, my team and friends to make this all come to life.”

Winnie concluded her post by writing: “Each of you know I love a Halloween moment and this idea would’ve been nothing without any of you!”

Accordingly, a number of the 25-year-old’s celebrity followers were quick to praise her look, with Khloe Kardashian writing, “Wow wow wow,” and Ebonee Davis adding: “How you look even better than the original??!!!!!”

Other top models to get into the Halloween spirit this year included Heidi Klum, who went as a gruesome alien-type figure for her annual bash, Georgia Fowler, who channelled Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Gigi Hadid, who was dressed as Jim Carrey in The Mask, and Emily Ratajkowski, who copied Edie Falco’s look as Carmela Soprano in TV show The Sopranos.
