The Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again actress, who is the face of Burberry Beauty’s latest campaign, has learned to leave her brows well alone after over-plucking them at the start of her career.

These days, Lily simply fills her arches in with a pencil and brushes them – using a toothbrush.

“I used to over-pluck my eyebrows. When I first started acting, it was almost like they were one hair thick,” she told Allure.com. “Then, for a character, this director told me – I was playing a 14-year-old – he told me to grow out my eyebrows. My whole face just changed. It was a really exciting moment, and luckily, they did grow back.

“Now, I basically pluck them as little as possible. I do fill them in a little bit ’cause I’ve got gaps, and I brush them. Sometimes I like to use a bit of eyebrow gel. Mary Greenwell, my amazing make-up artist, she always uses a toothbrush on my eyebrows, so I started copying her. It’s not the same one I brush my teeth with, but I just brush them upwards with a toothbrush.”

Besides overdoing it was the tweezers when she was younger, the British star also regrets applying concealer on her pout.

“I used to put concealer on my lips, almost like taking nude to like a whole other level. You’d basically be blocking out your lips. I don’t know what that was about, that was 2000 or something. I won’t ever conceal my lips again,” Lily insisted.

Elsewhere in the interview, the 30-year-old shared that, although she doesn’t like to wear a lot of make-up, she wants to experiment with bright eyeshadow, like Bohemian Rhapsody star Lucy Boynton, and lining outside of her lips to make them appear bigger.
