Beyonce pays no attention to comments about her fluctuating weight because she feels “more womanly and secure with her curves”.

In a rare cover interview with Elle magazine, the music superstar answered questions submitted by fans via social media and email, and when asked how she feels about people constantly commenting on her appearance, she explained that growing up and having three children has helped her value herself beyond her looks.

“If someone told me 15 years ago that my body would go through so many changes and fluctuations, and that I would feel more womanly and secure with my curves, I would not have believed them,” she replied. “But children and maturity have taught me to value myself beyond my physical appearance and really understand that I am more than enough no matter what stage I’m at in life. Giving zero (f**ks) is the most liberating place to be. Also knowing true beauty is something you cannot see. I wish more people focused on discovering the beauty within themselves rather than critiquing other folks’ grills.”

Beyonce, who is mother to Blue Ivy, seven, and two-year-old twins Sir and Rumi, admitted that she sometimes reacts to negative comments but during those vulnerable moments she tries to “remind myself I’m strong and I’m built for this”.

“Thank God most of the noise bounces off of me after all of these years,” the singer added.

When asked about self-care routine, the 38-year-old revealed she uses acupuncture, meditation, visualisation, and breathing exercises, researches homeopathic medicines and tries to maintain a healthy diet.

Beyonce gave the interview to help promote the relaunch of her athleisure brand Ivy Park, which is now a creative collaboration with Adidas. The collection will drop on 18 January.
