Natalia Vodianova and Anok Yai have been tapped to star in Tory Burch’s empowering new campaign.
Coinciding with International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, the top models are fronting the American designer’s spring/summer 2020 imagery, titled Walk the Walk.
Harnessing Burch’s call for women to “embrace ambition”, one black-and-white video shows the trio walking through a park while reflecting on the ways it’s possible to make a difference in the lives of others.
“To me, ambition has to have purpose. I can change lives of other people that didn’t get the chance that I did. I believe in that ripple effect,” the Russian star commented, while Yai shared, “My parents migrated from Egypt to America. My dad would always remind me, ‘This is your life now. But having ambition, it can help our entire country back home.'”
Elsewhere, Burch summed up her personal philosophy and the sense of purpose that drives her.
“I often hear people say, ‘Oh, they’re just one person and they can’t create change.’ And, I totally disagree with that. It just takes one person. Embracing ambition means empowering other women,” she mused.
In addition, the designer noted that the campaign aligns with the message of the Tory Burch Foundation, which provides access to capital, education and digital resources to women in the U.S., as well as a Fellowship programme.
“Our company is committed to our Foundation and supporting women and has given $20 million to the Tory Burch Foundation from a percentage of product sales. We walk the walk and we are committed to supporting women globally in their efforts to do the same,” the 53-year-old added.
