Sarah Michelle Gellar has temporarily dyed her hair pink so she can “embarrass her children”.

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress took to Instagram on Tuesday to reveal her latest hair transformation, having spontaneously decided to swap her signature blonde locks for a rose-pink shade during the coronavirus lockdown.

“Well, because we are still in quarantine, I had to think of a new and creative way to embarrass my children: ‘Quarancolour,'” the 43-year-old told her fans in the short clip, referring to her daughter Charlotte, 10, and seven-year-old son Rocky, whom she shares with husband Freddie Prinze Jr.

In the accompanying caption, Sarah noted that she had used a temporary colour product and would be rocking the pastel hue until it begins to “fade out”.

Her post quickly racked up over 900,000 views and attracted comments from many of her 3.1 million followers.

Celebrity make-up artist Daniel Martin praised, “So gorgeous honey! I love how it warms up your skin too!” while another fan posted, “Pretty in Pink – I love it.”

And others noted that Sarah’s fun makeover had inspired them to consider a bold new look too.

“Yessss!! I’ve been so tempted to do something like this too! My kids would be mortified (especially the 19-year-old). You look awesome!!” a fan added.

The actress isn’t the only Hollywood star to experiment with their hair colour while staying at home and practicing social distancing during the lockdown.

Jennifer Love Hewitt unveiled new pink locks earlier this month after trying out the Lime Crime Unicorn Hair Color Conditioner, while Elle Fanning, Dua Lipa, and Ireland Baldwin have also tried out pink tresses.

Elsewhere, Hilary Duff has opted for a bold blue shade and Taraji P. Henson has been rocking a dark red hue.

Hilarie Burton has decided not to dye her grey roots during the coronavirus lockdown.

The One Tree Hill actress took to Instagram earlier this week to post a picture of herself gazing into the distance, with the silver strands along her hairline on show.

In the accompanying caption, Hilarie explained that she had no plans to try an at-home hair dye kit as the grey locks were reminding her to maintain a healthy perspective amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The ‘silver lining’ is literally growing out of my skull. For all of our frontline and essential workers who are too busy to fuss with things like hair colour, I grow mine out in solidarity with you. When I see it, I’m reminded of all you’re doing to keep us safe,” she wrote. “I’m reminded that you deserve to be taken care of. I’m reminded that any spare time I have shouldn’t be spent on vanity, but rather on helping our heroes.”

In recent days, Hilarie has been sewing face masks for people who are still working during the crisis, such as delivery drivers, pharmacy workers, and farmers.

And the mother-of-two noted that she can make five masks in the time it would take her to colour her hair.

“It’s a small, silly symbol. Grey hair. Who cares, right? But I hope the nurse or the vet or the store clerk who is feeling tired and overwhelmed knows that it’s a visible thing I can show that says, ‘I’m with you,'” the 37-year-old added.

Other stars to embrace their grey hair during the lockdown include Kevin Hart, Drew Barrymore, and Kelly Ripa.

Gwyneth Paltrow finally accepted herself when her hair began to turn grey.

The Oscar-winning actress has opened up about her approach to ageing in Hollywood and beauty standards for women, and revealed that she’s comfortable with her appearance now she’s in her 40s.

“The more you know yourself and accept yourself, the more you accept who you are and what you look like wholeheartedly,” she told People magazine of the valuable lessons she’s learnt over the years.

“I always think there’s sort of an irony that when you really accept yourself – physically – is when you have grey hair,” Gwyneth shared. “I do think there’s a truth to that.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the founder of lifestyle brand Goop said her GOOPGLOW beauty line is perfect for those who want to create a natural glow while staying at home during the Covid-19 lockdown.

“You can use them if you wear make-up and your make-up will look even better, but the GOOPGLOW line is really fantastic for people who want to get their skin to a place where they look naturally glowy and dewy and don’t have to wear makeup,” the Avengers: Endgame star said of the line, which she launched back in February.

The GOOPGLOW collection includes an overnight glycolic acid glow peel, a microderm exfoliator, body luminiser, and a powder supplement.

Bebe Rexha once had to wear wigs because her natural hair fell out due to bleaching.

In the May edition of InStyle magazine’s Style Crush series, the Meant to Be singer confessed to her music and fashion inspiration Debbie Harry that her natural dark brown hair fell out as a result of her constantly dyeing it a peroxide blonde.

The 30-year-old asked the Blondie star for advice on maintaining the bleached look and Harry suggested letting the dark roots show through for a bit longer before making a trip to the colourist.

“How did you keep your blonde hair from not falling out when you first bleached it? Because my hair used to be so long,” Rexha asked, and Harry replied, “I didn’t keep it from falling out, actually! One thing I’ve learned is to keep a little bit of your dark roots. You can’t always maintain that when you’re on the road, but if you don’t let the colour touch your scalp, it gives your hair more strength. It’s probably going to break no matter what, though.”

The star then admitted her hair was once in such a bad condition that she had to wear wigs, but her hairstylist saved her locks by using Olaplex, a formula which rebuilds broken hair bonds and prevents breakage and damage.

“Tracey Cunningham saved my hair with Olaplex because I was wearing wigs at one point,” she shared. “I’m going to do what you said and let it grow out a bit. Dark roots look cool with dark eyebrows.”

Kate Hudson has finally “mastered” the art of at-home hair removal.

The Almost Famous actress recently joined her older brother Oliver Hudson for a chat on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, and during the interview, the siblings candidly opened up on their grooming regimes.

When one viewer asked if Oliver “still waxes his junk”, the 43-year-old joked that he’s switched over to shaving.

“No, I haven’t done that in a long time, but I do shave and I put a razor on it,” the Rules of Engagement star shared. “And by the way, it is not as bad as people might think. It’s clean. It’s pretty. It’s good.”

Kate then decided to divulge her own hair removal regime and confessed she is now an expert at waxing.

“I wax myself! I can wax myself. I’ve mastered it,” the 41-year-old stated, prompting host Andy to ask if she enjoyed the process.

To which she replied: “It’s not about enjoying it. I enjoy the aftermath of it!”

The mother-of-three also shared how the ongoing coronavirus lockdown has improved her relationship with her boyfriend Danny Fujikawa.

When Andy asked if self-isolating at home with the musician has been good for their sex life, Kate coyly replied, “Yes,” as she took a sip from her wine glass.

She continued: “I think it’s even more than that. I think it’s positive for knowing that I’m with the right person. There’s nobody else I’d want to be quarantined with right now. He’s just the best.”

Britney Spears has returned to her home gym after accidentally burning it down.

In recent months, the popstar has regularly posted clips of her practicing yoga or working on dance routines either outdoors or inside of her home on her Instagram page.

But in a video uploaded on Wednesday, Britney confessed that she was in the process of rebuilding her gym after she came close to completely destroying the room last year.

“Hi guys, I’m in my gym right now. I haven’t been in here for like six months because I burnt my gym down, unfortunately,” the 38-year-old began. “I had two candles, and, yeah, one thing led to another, and I burnt it down. So, I’m in here and we only have two pieces of equipment left.”

Britney went on to share footage of her working out with weights and doing some yoga poses on her balcony.

In the accompanying caption, the mother-of-two offered further details of the incident.

“It was an accident…but yes… I burnt it down,” she confirmed. “I walked past the door to the gym and flames BOOM !!!!!! By the grace of God the alarm went off after that and yippy hoorah nobody got hurt. Unfortunately, now I have only two pieces of equipment left lol (laugh out loud) and a one-sided mirror gym!!!!! But it could be much worse so I’m grateful. Pssss I like working out better outside anyways (sic).”

And in another post, Britney also explained that she has been self-isolating at home since returning from Louisiana two weeks ago and is yet to see her boyfriend Sam Asghari.

“I have actually lost weight from missing him… now none of my pants or shorts fit !!!!! Guess that’s what missing someone can do… who else is experiencing this ????!” she added.

Carine Roitfeld is hosting a star-studded virtual fashion show to raise awareness for the coronavirus relief effort.

The second annual CR Runway show, in collaboration with the amfAR Fund to Fight Covid-19, will be a catwalk extravaganza featuring the likes models Karlie Kloss, Alessandra Ambrosio, Ashley Graham, Adriana Lima, Halima Aden, Hailey Bieber, and Irina Shayk.

Hosted by Derek Blasberg, head of fashion and beauty partnerships at YouTube, the Fashion Unites show will feature runway walks with models wearing looks from their own personal wardrobes, which Roitfeld styled remotely.

The 30-minute show has been entirely self-filmed and will feature inspiring words from the fashion elite.

Designers Diane von Furstenberg, Virgil Abloh, and Alexander Wang are set to make a virtual appearance alongside Kim Kardashian, Winnie Harlow, and Amber Valletta.

The former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris said she was inspired to “engage with the creativity of others more than ever” while in self-isolation at her luxury apartment in Paris, France.

“I am very proud of how much we all stepped out of our comfort zones to create this event,” she told WWD. “For the first time, hairstylists brought their visions to life without the use of their hands, models called the shots from behind the camera, and I learned how to style looks using only what I could see through a video call on my phone.”

The inaugural CR Runway fashion show, co-founded by Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld, debuted in Florence, Italy, in June last year, and included models Irina Shayk, Bella Hadid, Karolina Kurkova, and Stella Maxwell.

The Fashion Unites show will stream on YouTube at 4pm (EST) on Friday.

Gucci has emphasised its commitment to animal conservation efforts with an adorable new campaign.

Executives at the Italian luxury fashion house, helmed by creative director Alessandro Michele, unveiled the pre-fall 2020 marketing imagery on Tuesday.

Titled “So Deer to Me”, the pictures were shot by photographer Alasdair McLellan and feature models in eclectic outfits surrounded by a variety of animals, including deer, rabbits, hedgehogs, squirrels, and ducks.

“An ode to innocence, when as children we revelled in nature and life, is the idea behind the new Gucci pre-fall 2020 campaign shot by Alasdair McLellan with creative direction by Alessandro Michele and art direction by Christopher Simmonds,” a brand representative commented of the concept. “A childlike imagination is woven through the scenes depicting the beauty and the personalities of a group of men, women and their beloved animals including a frog, an owl, deer, a skunk, squirrel, hedgehog and rabbits. With its call to nature, the campaign is ultimately an invitation to enjoy the simple things in life. Sometimes, it just takes very little, or a burst of imagination, to find some balance.”

The campaign comes after bosses at Gucci partnered with The Lion’s Share Fund, an organisation that raises money to help protect endangered species and their habitats, last year.

The fashion house has promised to donate 0.5 per cent of its media spend to the fund every time an animal is featured in one of its advertisements.

In addition to the campaign, Gucci has also released a 90-second commercial set to Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood’s 1967 song Some Velvet Morning.

Prabal Gurung has donated 2,000 masks to frontline workers amid the coronavirus crisis.

Last month, the Nepalese-American designer announced that he was preparing his workshop and staff members to start manufacturing personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontline healthcare employees in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, Gurung has since discovered that PPE is a “complex and heavily regulated product which falls outside the scope of our manufacturing capabilities”, so he has teamed with officials at The COVID Foundation to donate approximately 2,000 3M respirator masks to hospitals in New York City.

“We invite you to join us in supporting our medical professions and essential workers through donating directly to this fund,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “One hundred per cent of donations will support our ongoing Covid-19 response efforts delivering PPE to medical professionals, and frontline and essential workers, as well as supporting grassroots organisations. We will forever be inspired by the courage of our first responders, whose unwavering strength and resilience is a light of hope for us all.”

Gurung went on to note that he is investigating a “safe plan to scale production of civilian face masks” with the goal to reinvigorate the Garment District.

Other fashion designers, including Christian Siriano and Brandon Maxwell, have also been making masks for key workers, while executives at major conglomerates such as Kering and Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) have unveiled plans to supply millions of masks to residents in France.
