Naomi Campbell has been unveiled as the first-ever global face of Pat McGrath Labs.
The iconic supermodel and legendary British make-up artist, who have worked together for more than 25 years, announced their exciting new venture on Thursday.
“It’s an absolute honour to be the new and first official face of PAT McGRATH LABS,” Campbell wrote on Instagram. “Pat is my chosen family and an undeniable creative force in the beauty business who has been in my life since the early stages of my career. Pat has created a line that brings fantasy and glamour back into our daily lives and makes us dream again! There is no one else I’d rather embark on this journey with other than the iconic @patmcgrathreal.”
Campbell will make her debut as the Pat McGrath Labs ambassador in campaign imagery and video for the beauty brand’s new Mothership VIII: Divine Rose II Eye Palette.
In an interview with Vogue, McGrath said she was honoured to be teaming up with “a legend who has changed the face of beauty forever” as well as “a friend and a sister who I love and adore.”
The two first met in 1994, and Campbell believes their collaboration is all the more meaningful because they are both women of colour in the fashion industry.
“I believe in her as a friend and as chosen family, but I also want to see her do well for the industry overall. I want to see a person of colour at the top,” Campbell said, adding that when she first met McGrath, she was “so happy to work with a make-up artist of colour because there weren’t many at the time.”
