Shia LaBeouf’s enormous chest tattoo for David Ayer’s upcoming thriller The Tax Collector is all real.
The movie follows two intimidating mob collectors, played by Bobby Soto and LaBeouf, who have their lives and business upended in Los Angeles when a rival comes back to town.
The first trailer for the thriller was released on Friday, and showcases the Transformers star’s impressive ink on his chest, which also features the name of his character, Creeper.
And fans were stunned when it was revealed by director Ayer that the series of large tattoos are in fact real, and LaBeouf had fully immersed himself into the role by having the designs permanently inked on his body.
“He’s one of the best actors I’ve worked with, and he’s the most committed to body and soul. He had a tooth pulled on Fury, and then on Tax Collector, he got his whole chest tattooed,” Ayer told Slash Film earlier this year. “So he kind of goes all in, and I’ve never known anyone that committed.”
The 34-year-old was pictured last week out for a run with his chest exposed, and the impressive set of tattoos on display. One of the designs features a woman embracing a child who has his face painted like a clown, surrounded by flowers, and Mickey Mouse’s gloved hands over his belly button.
The Tax Collector is released on 7 August via video on demand.
