Mindy Kaling made her very own face mask inspired by a piece of Ancient Greek art for a new social media challenge.

The 41-year-old comedy actress and writer took to Instagram to take part in the #MetMaskChallenge, which calls on users to pick an artefact from the extensive collection at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and create a face covering influenced by the piece.

Mindy shared her stunning design, which was based on a terracotta cup dating back to 540 B.C.

“I love a good design challenge, especially when it involves something as important as wearing a mask! ” she began her post. “I did the #MetMaskChallenge and created my own mask inspired by artwork from The @metmuseum collection! I used the Terracotta kylix (drinking cup) ca. 540 B.C. (swipe for a picture!), attributed to the Amasis Painter.⁣”

In the picture, The Mindy Project star can be seen wearing the face mask, which strikingly resembles terracotta, as she urged her 5.4 million followers to design their own.

⁣”The piece features Poseidon, the god of the seas, among Greek warriors from Homer’s Iliad. Poseidon, seeing the Greeks hard-pressed, decided to help renew their valor and ordered his chariot prepared so that he could ride to their aid,” the mother-of-one continued. “Take the #MetMaskChallenge and create your own!”

Saturday Night Live star Heidi Gardner has also taken part in the challenge, and debuted her face mask which was inspired by the “sumptuous period rooms in The Met’s Wrightsman Galleries” which she encountered on her last visit to the museum.
