Harvey Weinstein’s estranged wife Georgina Chapman was greeted with cheers and applause as she returned to work recently.

The Marchesa designer has kept a low profile since allegations of sexual harassment and rape were levelled against disgraced movie producer Weinstein in October (17), but she eased herself back into the world of fashion last month (Mar18).

As well as returning to her label, Chapman also attended a Council of Fashion Designers of America (CDFA) board meeting, where her fellow CFDA members welcomed her with open arms.

Diane von Furstenberg, Michael Kors and Tommy Hilfiger were among the CFDA members to cheer and applaud the British fashion star as she walked into the room.

“We were all happy to see her,” von Furstenberg said, reports The Hollywood Reporter. “Georgina is a great designer, engaged board member, devoted mother and good friend. We all support her.”

Despite the warm welcome, a source close to Chapman said her calm demeanour was shattered when she left the meeting in New York and was mobbed by paparazzi.

“She was so upset — she doesn’t know who tipped them off,” the friend revealed. “She feels she can’t go anywhere without being descended upon, and she is very worried about the safety of her children.”

Chapman married Weinstein in 2007, and together they have daughter India, seven, and five-year-old son Dashiell.

As well as multiple accusations of sexual misconduct, it has also been claimed that Weinstein pressured actresses including Sienna Miller and Felicity Huffman to wear Marchesa designs on the red carpet.

Earlier this year, Marchesa, the luxury label Chapman created with Keren Craig in 2004, cancelled its New York Fashion Week runway show in favour of a digital presentation.

Manolo Blahnik was disappointed when British heritage brand Burberry recruited Riccardo Tisci as chief creative officer.

The 75-year-old founder of the eponymous luxury shoe brand has spent much of his career working in the U.K., and has collaborated with many London-based designers, including Jean Muir and Zandra Rhodes.

In a new interview with The Sunday Times’ Style magazine, Blahnik admitted he was bemused by Burberry’s choice to appoint an Italian designer as Christopher Bailey’s successor, rather than look for homegrown talent instead.

“I think it is offensive,” he mused. “Thousands of children. Talented. Talented. But they want names. Or why don’t they choose English people who want to be in England, like the Celine girl, she’s divine. Phoebe (Philo). I don’t know if he is a good or bad choice, but it’s not relevant. It’s not England.”

The Spanish fashion mogul currently resides in English town Bath, and his brand’s flagship store remains to this day in the fashionable Chelsea district of London.

Blahnik has made his adoration of the country clear, and always looks to source as much material as he can from the nation.

“I want everything in England. I want flannel from the Midlands, steel buckles from Sheffield,” he shared. “I refuse to buy underwear even made in China. I like (John) Smedley (knitwear). Machine-wash and kicked out in hotels. I have them for years (sic).”

The acclaimed footwear artist also spoke very highly of Meghan Markle, who will be welcomed into the British royal family when she marries fiance Prince Harry next month (May18). The 36-year-old was seen wearing a pair of his navy BB courts during her Commonwealth Day appearance last month.

“The girl’s very pretty,” he smiled.

Alexander Wang will make his way to Coachella on Friday (13Apr18) with a “van full” of his new Adidas Originals collection.

The California native is driving from Los Angeles to Palm Springs with his model pals Binx Walton, Lexi Boling, Hanne Gaby Odiele and Cat McNeil. The super stylish group will be keeping fans updated with their antics via the @AdidasOriginals Twitter account and using the hashtag WangFest journey.

“Tomorrow, the #Wangsquad will beg, borrow, and trade all the way to the festival,” Wang told his Instagram followers next to a video clip detailing the journey.

“Making our way to Palm Springs tomorrow with a van full of the new #adidasOriginalsxAW collection. Stay tuned to our insta story and @AdidasOriginals to follow our journey.”

The video is a clip of a car driving across the Californian desert, and words flash up explaining the squad will be,“trading the new collection for food, gas, for favours”.

The line marks Wang’s third Adidas collection. He first joined forces with the sportswear giant in 2016, and brought out season two last year.

For his third effort, the high-end designer was inspired by factory rejects and quality control. The 13-piece collection is made up of jackets, track-style tops, shorts, crew neck sweatshirts, graphic tees and transparent ponchos, with the garments all featuring a flaw of some kind, like uneven printing, wrinkled fabrics and pixelated graphics.

Along with the clothes, Wang has also created his version of Adidas’ football shoe, which he’s called the AW Bball Soccer.

Adidas Originals x Alexander Wang season three will be available in store and online from 21 April.

Charlotte Olympia designer Charlotte Dellal’s dedication to glamour makes her feel like herself.

The footwear and accessories designer has seen her creations on the feet of celebrities such as Rihanna, Michelle Dockery and Salma Hayek.

And her attention to detail doesn’t just extend to her work, but her real life too.

“I do it for me because it makes me feel like me,” Charlotte told the London Evening Standard of her weekly hair appointment, where she gets her locks set the old fashion way with lotion and pink curlers. “My mum and grandmother brought me up like that.”

Charlotte, who previously teamed up with lingerie retailer Agent Provocateur, added of her views on underwear and her signature red nail polish: “I can’t physically wear mismatched underwear. I mean I’m married, but you do it for yourself. It’s about making yourself feel good. Even my children notice if my nails aren’t red. I’m like, ‘Oh my goodness, I have to keep up appearances when I’ve got four boys!'”

Charlotte’s mother, former Brazilian model Andrea Dellal, also passed down some of her stylish clothes, including an ‘80s Versace dress which has come back en vogue, which Charlotte has out on display.

“I don’t want to put things in cupboards so I make my own piece of art. That said, it is now on the Versace runway again so I kinda want to wear it,” she smiled.

Victoria Beckham has showed off her brand new ’90s-inspired collection for Reebok

The former Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer, launched her eponymous label in 2008 and is known for her sleek, tailored style. Now the keen exerciser has teamed up with athletic brand Reebok to design her own collection, giving a sneak peek on Thursday night (12Apr18) of a limited drop of the range in a collaboration with basketball icon Shaquille O’ Neal at an event in Los Angeles where she talked ’90s fashion and her love of trainers.

“There’s so much good stuff from the ’90s. But there’s also so much bad stuff,” she told Footwear News. “Even the bad stuff makes you smile. It’s so bad, it’s quite brilliant.”

In pictures taken at the event, the diminutive British designer and the statuesque athlete posed with their backs turned to the camera, showing off their significant height difference, with both wearing a T-shirt designed by Victoria for her Reebok collaboration which “celebrates ’90s Reebok and the iconic era that Shaquille O’Neal represents”.

It’s a bit of a departure from Victoria’s usual tailored looks and sky-scraping stilettos but the mother of four admitted she’s enjoying doing something new.

“I’m really enjoying the process. I don’t want to put anything out there until I’m absolutely ready,” she smiled. “To create a trainer — even if you’re working with an existing last — it still takes a long, long time. The process is very different than working in fashion.”

While her husband David Beckham has always been known for his sports luxe style, Victoria is a more recent convert, and now loves combining sneakers with high fashion.

“It’s cool and it looks effortless,” she said of pairing sneakers with men’s tailoring. “You can change your whole look if you throw on a trainer.”

However, while she has embraced casual footwear, the dedicated exerciser who, is often spotted attending SoulCycle classes with her family, isn’t keen on all sportswear trends.

“I don’t understand backless workout clothing,” she noted.

Karlie Kloss has teamed up with Away Luggage on a collection inspired by the coders at her Kode With Klossy organisation.

Model Karlie founded Kode With Klossy, a nonprofit organisation empowering girls to learn to code and lead in technology, in 2015.

The runway star is a keen coder herself, and even quit her job as a Victoria’s Secret Angel to study at New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, and she’s taking her love for all things tech to a new level with her latest collaboration.

“We collaborated with Kode With Klossy to create modern travel essentials inspired by the changing digital landscape and the community of young girls coding, collaborating, and building a new future in tech,” Away’s website states.

The Away x Kode With Klossy line, which launched on Thursday (12Apr18), remakes two carry-ons and two travel cases in two new aptly named colours, Pixel (a deep purple) and Gigabyte (a forest green). There is also a new limited edition backpack and a storage Cube Case on offer, both crafted out of vegan leather.

“#AwayxKodeWithKlossy launches in-store and online TOMORROW! It’s SO SURREAL to see the Kode With Klossy scholars on billboards representing products they inspired!!! For every @Away x @KodeWithKlossy product purchased, YOU help fund comp sci edu (computer science education) for young women all over the U.S.!” Karlie tweeted.

The model was present at a special launch event in New York on Thursday. Later that night she swapped her business suit for a glam pink dress as she attended the Swarovski Times Square store party. The 25-year-old is the face of the sparkly jewellery company.

Stella Maxwell: ‘Festivals aren’t about being too cool for school’

Stella Maxwell wants festivalgoers to focus more on the music, and less on looking cool.

The Belgian model always looks flawless on the Victoria’s Secret runway, but festival fashion isn’t her priority when she goes to Coachella, which kicks off on Friday in California (13Apr18).

“Coachella is to have fun with your friends and dance to some good music,” the 27-year-old explained to WWD. “There is so much to see and do. Please don’t get caught up in hanging out in the ‘too cool for school’ vibe. This is about being at a festival and really enjoying music and communing with the artists that have worked so hard to get there.”

Although Stella believes the atmosphere is the most important thing, she doesn’t skimp when it comes to dressing for the occasion, and would advise all attendees to: “Look cool, look stylish but also feel comfortable and feel safe.”

While her fellow Angel Lais Ribeiro, who was chosen to wear the $2 million (£1.4 million) Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra at the brand’s Shanghai show last November, advisers Coachella newbies to “try the food”.

“The food line-up is just as insane as the music,” the 27-year-old insisted. “(And) definitely try to say hydrated during the day and make sure to bring something that will keep you warm at night. It’s crazy how the weather changes from day to night.”

This year, The Weeknd, Beyonce and Eminem are headlining the festival, which takes place over two weekends.

Music lover Jasmine Tookes was also quizzed by WWD, and admitted the first trip to the festival can be “overwhelming” due to the vast number of acts on the bill.

“Really study that music line-up,” she suggested. “It can be overwhelming your first time at Coachella because there are so many performers to see and they’re all so amazing, you want to make sure you don’t miss any you really love.”

She also named the Neon Carnival after-party as her biggest must-do, which was a sentiment echoed shared by Sara Sampaio.

Hailey Baldwin is running out of space for her ever-growing tattoo collection.

The 21-year-old has landed campaigns for the likes of Ralph Lauren, Prabal Gurung and Karl Lagerfeld, and is renowned for her individual fashion sense. Hailey’s outfits are always accessorised by her array of body art, but the model’s love for tattoos mean that she’s not sure if she has room for any more.

“(I have) Nineteen,” she said in an interview with The Cut. “They’re little ones, but I like all the little ones. I’m running out of spots to put little ones. And eventually when I have kids one day, I want to get my kids’ names and then I want to have the spots for that.”

As a result, the style star said is “going to chill out for a second on the tattoos” because she always aims to space out the locations of her inkings. Hailey also added that she never plans to get her tattoos very far in advance, usually deciding on a design the night before, and her most recent addition is a heart on her left shoulder to match the one on her right hip bone.

“I can’t show it because I can’t pull up my dress, but it says 1996,” Hailey explained. “The heart was kind of aesthetic. I just think it looks cute. There’s no story behind it. I think the really little dainty tattoos are very, like, they’re very pretty on girls. And 1996 was the year I was born, so…”

All of her tattoos are courtesy of JonBoy, the New York artist who is also responsible for the designs seen on celebrities including; Kendall Jenner, Justin Bieber and Zayn Malik. And the runway model hopes that her own inkings will inspire others who choose to go under the needle.

“It doesn’t have to always be like a big piece or big word,” she insisted.

Karlie Kloss would much rather have a “strong” physique than be model-thin.

The former Victoria’s Secret Angel has walked the runway for top brands including; Marc Jacobs and Carolina Herrera, and fronted campaigns for labels like Jean Paul Gaultier and Saint Laurent. Having started her modelling career at the age of 15, Karlie shared that her approach to body confidence has changed significantly after a decade in the industry.

“I have a different body today than I did when I first started this career,” the 25-year-old said in an interview with Porter magazine. “I’ve had to grow into my own skin in a lot of ways and there was a shift in my head where I was like, ‘I don’t want to be skinny. I want to be strong.’ I feel better in my own skin when I am like that.”

And though the fashion icon is keen to maintain a healthy figure, she isn’t obsessive over her diet and exercise regime.

“It’s how I take care of my body, what I eat. Not to an excessive point where I’m scared to gain a pound, but I have a long list of things that I want to accomplish and I need strength and energy to do that,” she insisted.

In addition to her modelling career, Karlie started her own charity organisation Kode With Klossy in 2016, a coding camp and career scholarship programme for young women. She added that she was “excited by the idea being an entrepreneur” in her younger years, but worried that her move into the fashion world could jeopardise her performance at school.

“When I started my career, I wanted to just survive another season – I thought of everything in six-month increments,” she explained. “Not to mention I was in high school and my priorities were, ‘How can I still get straight A’s and also do this after school side hustle called modelling?’”

Gigi Hadid denies she slimmed down to further her modelling career

Gigi Hadid pines for her old curves, but insists her slender frame isn’t down to “giving in” to the fashion industry.

Gigi, along with her model sister Bella, rose to fame on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as the daughters of show regular Yolanda Hadid.

She had her fashion break in 2014 when she walked for Desigual at New York Fashion Week, and over the last four years, has become one of the world’s top models.

But her figure has noticeably slimmed down in that time, which Gigi reasserted in a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar has been caused by her health issues. In December 2016 the model revealed she was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease, an autoimmune condition which affects the thyroid gland.

“Most of it is just nonsense. But it can still hurt,” Gigi told actress Blake Lively about dealing with social media trolls. “Nowadays, people are quick to say, ‘I used to love Gigi’s body, and now she just gave in.’ But I’m not skinny because I gave in to the industry.

“When I had a more athletic figure, I was proud of my body because I was an amazing volleyball player and horseback rider. But after discovering that I have Hashimoto’s, I needed to eat healthy and work out. It was weird as a teenager, dealing with this when all of my friends could eat McDonald’s and it wouldn’t affect them.

“If I could choose, I would have my a*s back and I would have the t*ts I had a few years ago. But, honestly, we can’t look back with regret. I loved my body then, and I love my body now.”

The 22-year-old, who recently split from long-time boyfriend Zayn Malik, doesn’t dwell on body issues though, and has urged her fans to also not get caught up in what other people say about them.

Gigi has more than 48 million followers across her Twitter and Instagram accounts, and regularly posts images celebrating her body.

“Whoever is reading this, I want you to realise that three years from now you will look back at a picture from this time period and be like: ‘Wow, I was so hot. Why did I feel so bad about myself because of some stupid thing someone said?’” she smiled.
