Metallica have donated over $1.6 million (£1.3 million) to charity during the band’s 2019 tour of Europe.

The heavy rockers have just wrapped up the summer leg of the WorldWired trek, and now it has been revealed they quietly donated the cash to causes in each city on the tour via the group’s All Within My Hands foundation, which was established in 2017.

According to Blabbermouth.net, the band’s final summer 2019 contribution came on 25 August, in the form of a 63,000-euro cheque to Freezone Mannheim, a homeless youth aid organisation in Germany.

“A HUGE thanks to all who attended a #WorldWired European show for helping us donate over €1.5million to local charities over the course of the 25-show tour,” a tweet featuring a photo of James Hetfield and his bandmates with three Freezone Mannheim representatives reads. “And special thanks to #MetInMannheim fans for wrapping it up with this contribution to Freezone. #MetallicaGivesBack.”

A message on the All Within My Hands foundation Twitter account also reads: “Closing out the 2019 European #WorldWired Tour, every fan attending #MetInMannheim has helped @Metallica make tonight’s donation to Freezone, helping them support the homeless youth in their community.”

FKA Twigs tried to keep her private life out of the public eye in a bid to avoid being “torn apart publicly”.

The Two Weeks singer, real name Tahliah Barnett, has become notorious for shunning the spotlight and avoiding interviews in a bid to keep her personal life private.

She has, however, enjoyed high-profile relationships with Transformers star Shia LaBeouf and Twilight actor Robert Pattinson, to whom she was engaged. And speaking to i-D magazine, she confessed it was the threat of public rejection that spurred her reclusiveness.

“I thought that if I was anything less than perfect I was going to be completely torn apart publicly,” she shared while discussing new track 1000 Eyes – the opening song from her upcoming sophomore album, Magdalene.

The star, 31, revealed the concept of the album was inspired by the biblical character, whose real narrative “is written out of the bible” and she is instead portrayed as “a prostitute”.

And Twigs went on to share that the idea of women’s narratives being informed by the men around them resonated with her, adding: “I used to laugh to myself about how, as a woman, your story is often attached to the narrative of a man.

“No matter what you’re doing or how great your work is, sometimes it’s as though you have to be attached to a man to be validated,” she continued, adding, “I’d felt like that at times.”

Magdalene is expected to drop later this year.

Miranda Lambert gave a special mention to her “sweet husband” Brendan McLoughlin during her gig in Atlantic City, New Jersey on Saturday.

The country superstar wed the New York Police Department officer in January, just two months after they met in the Big Apple when Miranda performed on Good Morning America with her group, the Pistol Annies.

Midway through the set on Saturday she paused proceedings to declare her love for her beau.

“Something about country music is usually a sad song,” she told the audience. “You gotta have them, sometimes the sad song gets you through a sad time, isn’t that right? Lucky for me, I’m not in a sad time anymore in my life.”

The House That Built Me hitmaker then flashed her impressive wedding ring, declaring “Thank you to my sweet husband from Staten Island, by the way!” – as Brendan acknowledged his wife’s gesture from the side of the stage.

“But no matter what, sometimes you always go maybe in a dark room and drink a beer and sing a sad song and that’s what I’m going to do, because I love it,” Lambert added, before performing her 2017 hit Tin Man.

The track was written shortly after the singer’s split from ex-husband Blake Shelton in 2015, and plays on the analogy of the popular The Wizard of Oz character – who doesn’t have a heart.

Jorja Smith has penned her own James Bond theme in a bid to land the coveted 007 job.

The artist writing and performing the theme for the upcoming instalment in the espionage franchise, No Time to Die, is yet to be announced, however, Jorja has penned her own track as she’s desperate to write for a Bond film.

“That’s a dream,” she said while appearing on The Official Big Top 40 radio show on Sunday. “Yeah I’d love to write a Bond song. I really do. I kind of wrote one, like a pretend one, but I do really want to write one, I’d love to.

“I like writing cinematic things. Things for films. I always imagine movies in my head sometimes when I’m writing songs.”

To follow in the footsteps of the likes of Adele, Shirley Bassey, and Sam Smith, Jorja will have to fend off competition from the likes of Dua Lipa, the current favourite to land the honour, and Ed Sheeran, whose manager Stuart Camp recently revealed an interest.

“(I tell him), ‘The thing they do last is the music,'” Camp said, explaining that Ed constantly badgered him for updates on Bond producers’ thinking. “It’s certainly something he’d want to do though. It’s a box that’s still to be ticked, for sure.”

No Time to Die, which is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga and will feature Daniel Craig in what is believed to be his last outing as 007, will debut in cinemas next April.

Shawn Mendes has admitted he is in a romantic relationship – but refused to share any more details because “there’s another person involved”.

The In My Blood singer, 21, was quizzed by a fan backstage after his recent concert at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut about his rumoured relationship with Camila Cabello.

“You’ve said you’ve never been in love. Has that changed recently?” the fan queried.

In a clip of the incident, which was shared online, the crowd around the star could be heard laughing, as the musician replied: “Honestly, I wanna say I wanna talk to you guys about this stuff, but it’s not just me in the relationship.

“There’s another person involved and I can’t say things that I feel. It’s not just me deciding you know?”

The pair first sparked rumours of a romance when the steamy video for their hit collaboration Senorita was released – speculation that was furthered when Camila announced she’d split from boyfriend Matthew Hussey.

Although they refused to confirm their relationship, they’ve teased fans with several PDAs and a provocative performance at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards last month.

Camila also kept fans guessing when she dropped a video on her YouTube channel on Saturday, titled What Do I Know About Love?, in which she ponders over the nature of romance.

“What do I know about love?” she questions. “Everything.

“It will bring you to your knees — if you did it right… You feel like you’re the first and only two people in the world. Every kiss, every touch, every caress is like something you feel nobody has ever felt before.”

Bebe Rexha feared “she was going to get raped” by a producer and his pals during a recording session in a music studio.

The 30-year-old popstar opened up about the dark side of the music industry in an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine.

During the emotional chat, Bebe detailed her alleged mistreatment at the hands of several unnamed producers, including one night when she called a taxi to avoid what she feared would be a sexual assault.

“There was one night,” the star said. “I was alone in the studio and a producer had a group of five or six guys with him. I had heard things about him from his past and I just couldn’t take it any more. I felt like I was going to get raped. I quietly called myself a taxi from the recording booth, which was enclosed, and I got the f**k out of there. It was the worst night ever.”

The In the Name of Love hitmaker also revealed that on another occasion a “really famous” producer had insisted on giving her a foot massage and tried to touch her inappropriately.

“There was a producer who would come into the studio and massage my feet,” she explained. “One time he tried to go above my knees and was getting a little rough, (so) I pulled my feet away. He said, ‘Nah, I’m going to do what I want’. But I was raised to never let someone touch my body if I don’t want them to.”

Bebe also credited Kesha’s mum, Pebe Sebert, with helping her negotiate the negative aspects of the music industry, and advising her not to work with Lukasz ‘Dr. Luke’ Gottwald, who Pebe’s daughter has accused of sexual and psychological abuse.

The Tik Tok hitmaker and Dr. Luke were involved in a long legal battle over her claims, which he denies, and were dismissed by a New York judge as falling outside the statute of limitations in 2016.

Ariana Grande has cancelled all meet and greets on the European leg of her Sweetener World Tour to “preserve her voice and energy”.

The 7 Rings hitmaker axed a session which was scheduled to take place before her show in Antwerp, Belgium on Friday, telling fans: “My anxiety and depression have been at an all time high lately… I feel like the wisest decision would be not to do sound check party or m&g (meet and greet) today and preserve my energy for the show.”

And in a further statement from promoters Live Nation, it was confirmed the pop star had chosen to pull out of the planned meet and greets due to her gruelling tour schedule.

“Thanks to increased demand, Ariana is thrilled and humbled to have been able to add extra shows to the tour for her fans. It’s not something she takes for granted,” they posted online. “These extra months on the road, however, are not only exhilarating but exhausting. Due to the need to preserve her voice and energy, we regret to inform you there will not be a Meet & Greet & Soundcheck party at your show.

“This decision does not come easily and the last thing she would ever want to do is disappoint fans but something has to give to allow her to continue giving 100 per cent to her performances.”

The Thank U, Next hitmaker will play dates in Europe through 16 October, before heading back across the Atlantic to complete a final U.S. leg, wrapping up on 22 December.

Liam Gallagher is reportedly engaged to his music manager girlfriend Debbie Gwyther.

According to British newspaper The Sun, the rock and roll star, 46, popped the question to Debbie late last month while holidaying on Italy’s Amalfi Coast.

Liam appeared to confirm the news on Twitter on Monday, responding to one fan who asked who would witness his wedding by writing: “Seriously how do you know we’re getting married.”

A music industry source told The Sun that the Wall of Glass hitmaker’s beloved mother Peggy was present for the proposal.

“His mum Peggy was chuffed to bits to be present at the proposal and fully approves of his relationship with Debbie,” the insider revealed. “The couple are hoping to tie the knot next year and Liam wants his kids by his side on the big day.”

The marriage will be Liam’s third, as he was previously been married to actress Patsy Kensit and fellow musician Nicole Appleton.

The source told the newspaper that Debbie is delighted they are finally to marry after six years together, and is already making wedding plans.

“Debbie is over the moon and still in shock that Liam has finally popped the question. It’s been on the cards for a while so she’s buzzing that it’s going ahead. They feel stronger than ever and he is in a really good place,” the insider added.

“His music is going really well and he has a really strong bond with his oldest three kids, thanks to Debbie. Liam credits her for really turning his life around and is grateful that she has stuck by him.”

The former Oasis frontman’s relationship with Debbie helped him recover from a low point following Oasis’ 2009 split and the failure of his own band Beady Eye.

Liam is father to four children with four different women – Molly, 22, Lennon, 19, Gene, 18, and Gemma, six.
