Actress Zoe Kravitz likes to loosen up by having the tension stretched and pummelled out of her on the massage table.

The Big Little Lies star star seeks out a preferred specialist in Los Angeles whenever she needs to get rid of toxins and stress, but a trip to her favourite masseuse is never relaxing.

“I like massages, but not necessarily relaxing ones,” she tells Harper’s Bazaar. “I’m always travelling or working out, so in L.A. I see a body worker to break up all of that tension.”

Zoe, 29, reveals she tends to find the most relaxation when she is sweating it out.

“I don’t have a trainer; working out is my alone time,” she explains. “Depending on where I am, I go on runs or hikes or do the elliptical at the gym. I don’t get too fancy.”

She also loves to pamper herself with steam baths and saunas.

“There’s a Korean spa I love in L.A. that’s all women,” she notes. “I like to go by myself and spend hours there.”

Although Zoe has a balanced routine, the actress daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, reveals her hectic schedule does lead to stressful moments that tend to make her face break out, and whenever she needs a facial, she’ll visit Christine Chin in New York or Terri Lawton in Los Angeles – or she’ll just use a traditional clay mask to soothe her raging pores.

“My skin gets angry if I’m stressed out, so I’ll do a mask to clear it up,” Zoe shares, citing the Chlorella-Algae Facial Mask by ISUN as one of her favourites. “My mum got me into skincare at a very young age.”

Kerry Washington stole the spotlight at the 2018 Costume Designers Guild Awards on Tuesday night (20Feb18).

Kerry, who was presented with the Spotlight Award on the night, topped off the ensemble with a ruby ring and a swipe of raspberry-hued lipstick.

Pop star Lorde is not interested in unsolicited beauty advice as she continues to deal with her acne issues.

The Royals hitmaker, 21, has been open about her struggle with the skin condition, occasionally posting selfies online with her zit cream on full display, and over the weekend (17-18Feb18), she shared a video clip of herself using a purple LED light on Instagram, explaining she was hoping the technique would kill acne-causing bacteria.

“For real though, acne sucks,” Lorde moaned. “You know what also sucks? When you’ve had acne for years and years and years, done all the drugs, tried all the things, and people are still like, ‘You know what worked for me? Moisturising!'”

The fed up singer went on to detail other remedies she had been recommended: “Make a mask out of honey, Greek yogurt and avocado,” she said, impersonating the unknown advice giver. “All you need to do is buy an apricot scrub! Coconut oil – the secret is coconut oil!”

However, Lorde admitted the advice she has received isn’t as bad as some of the things clueless critics have shared – one dared to question her personal hygiene by asking, “Do you wash your face?”

“It’s like, yes, I wash my face, I’m just genetically cursed,” she quipped.

As she concluded her Instagram Story rant, Lorde decided to share a message of support to others suffering from similar skin complaints, insisting they will one day overcome.

“For anyone out there who has bad skin – and actual bad skin, not the kind of bad skin you can just use a fancy cream for a few days and it will get better – I feel your pain,” she added. “We’ll get there, we will. Promise.”

Lorde isn’t the only celebrity dealing with acne in the spotlight – reality TV star and model Kendall Jenner has also detailed her skin troubles in the past, and defiantly hit back at criticism online after attending the Golden Globe Awards last month (Jan18) while battling bad skin.

After one supporter applauded Kendall for “showing up and strutting her acne (sic) while looking like a gorgeous star” at the Hollywood prizegiving, she replied, “never let that s**t stop you!”

Kendrick Lamar has compared the creation of his latest Nike sneaker line with the process he follows when making music.

The 30-year-old hosted an NBA All-Star Weekend event in Downtown Los Angeles on Saturday (17Feb18), where he unveiled his recent Nike collaboration, the Kendrick Lamar x Nike Cortez Kenny II collection.

When asked how designing footwear compares to crafting hit songs like Humble, the rapper divulged that he viewed the two as similar processes.

“It’s almost like the same process for me… a lot of detail,” Kendrick shared at the sports gathering, reports Billboard. “I like to have every little nick and nack counter or apart from each other, so people can appreciate that.”

The songwriter, who bagged four Grammys at this year’s ceremony, went on to describe his sneaker line as having “a classic L.A. feel” and also shared that his collaboration with the sportswear brand was inspired by teenagers.

“Being in their shoes, I was once in a place where they were at — a lot of dreams and aspirations,” he mused. “Looking at them and wondering where I want to go, and I can see that vibe and I can see they have a lot of energy for walking out here. That’s something I respect.”

The Damn record maker disclosed that Nike Air Max “97 and the 95s” are his shoes of choice, and additionally opened up about his desire to take his writing talents to the film industry one day.

He also revealed that he is his biggest critic when creating music and footwear.

“I got to be comfortable with it 100 per cent. I got to feel good about it. I got to feel like I can wear something on the daily and something I can listen to on the daily,” he stated. “Then, give it out to the world, and hopefully they feel the same.”

BAFTA Best Actress winner Frances McDormand decided against the unofficial black dress code because she has “trouble with compliance”.

The majority of stars opted to wear black for the British prize-giving on Sunday night (18Jan18), a move that echoed the wardrobe choices at the Golden Globes in January, in support of Time’s Up movement, which aims to stop sexual harassment in the workplace.

Despite not wearing all-black at the glitzy ceremony, Frances threw her weight behind the movement. Taking to the stage to pick up her Best Actress gong for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Frances addressed her decision to wear a black lipstick print Valentino dress.

“Thank you British film people. As Martin (McDonagh, Three Billboards writer and director) said, I have a little trouble with compliance,” she told the audience at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

“I want you to know that I stand in full solidarity with my sisters tonight in black.”

Another guest who shunned the black dress code was Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, who stunned in a green Jenny Packham gown, which she accessorised with a black ribbon belt and matching clutch bag.

It was unclear whether the pregnant royal would wear black prior to the big night, as it is against royal protocol for a member of the royal family to make a political statement.

Some viewers took offense to the colour of her dark dress, though Best Supporting Actress winner Allison Janney fully supported her decision.

“I would never judge anyone’s choice, she looked absolutely beautiful and I’m so happy for them that she’s pregnant again,” she told the press backstage.

“She’s an extraordinary woman and she can wear whatever she wants to wear.”

Katherine Heigl has celebrated a return to her pre-pregnancy weight by posting a new bikini shot online.

The actress shared before and after shots on Instagram on Monday (19Feb18), revealing it took her 14 months after the birth of her son Joshua Jr. in December, 2016 to get her body back.

“It’s been almost 14 months since Joshua Jr was born and it has taken me about that long to really get back in shape,” she captioned three images.

“The first pic was taken one month after he was born. The second pic was taken almost a full year later and the last pic was taken this weekend. I wish I had a few from in between the first and second so you could really see how slow my progress was but alas… I was busy covering it all up those months, not posing in my unders!”

The Knocked Up star admits her new role in Suits really helped her lose the last few pounds, adding, “I have a beach vacation coming up, a new job I start filming in April and my deep desire to feel fit, strong and sexy propelling me forward the last two months to finally loose the last of my baby weight and do a deep dive search for the ab muscles I knew were buried under that belly somewhere!” she added.

The actress went on to explain she took the popular BBG Challenge to get back to fighting fit form, confessing a friend, who had a baby months before her used it to get fit.

“I had never heard of it but she looked so damn great (she had her baby just a few months before me) that I had to check it out,” she wrote. “I found a fantastic app called #sweat that features several different #bbg programs you can choose from and makes it incredibly easy to do anywhere, which for me means in my bedroom at home!”

“I won’t lie, the workouts are real a** kickers but the progress I’ve made in only 5 short weeks has kept me motivated and inspired to keep going!”

Katherine and her husband Josh Kelley are also parents to nine-year-old Nancy and Adelaide, five.

Actress Danai Gurira took a big leap of faith when she shaved her head to portray a warrior in the new Black Panther movie.

The Walking Dead star portrays Okoye, the leader of the fictional African nation of Wakanda’s all-female, shaven, tattooed Dora Milaje army, in the Marvel blockbuster, and though she admits she knew the look would be striking, the idea took a bit of getting used to.

Danai viewed images of her character in the new Black Panther comic books, and realised she would have to shed her short, natural Afro for the role.

“In theory, I loved it,” she told the hosts of talk show The View. “I knew exactly how (Okoye looked) in Ta-Nehisi Coates’ version (of the comics), which is the current version, where you see the Dora Milaje, my army, all beautifully shaven heads and the tats, I was like, ‘That’s amazing.'”

“(Then I thought), ‘Oh, I have to do that?’ and that’s the part I was unsure about…,” Danai confessed.

She didn’t have a lot of time to think about her new look: “You know, I had my little ‘fro going on, I was working it (enjoying showing it off), and then they (filmmakers) called and was (sic) like, ‘We’re doing it (shaving heads) tomorrow.'”

“I thought I had a couple weeks (to prepare), so… initially I was like, (concerned) when you go dolphin-smooth bald, but it’s a whole ‘nother thing,” smiled Danai.

The actress has since grown to love her shaved head, opting to keep her locks super short for the recent worldwide Black Panther press tour.

Fans have gone wild for the chic look Jennifer Lawrence wore to the Red Sparrow premiere in London on Monday night (19Feb18).

The actress walked the red carpet in Leicester Square before attending the European debut of the spy film, and turned heads in a sequinned Christian Dior dress with pleated skirt featuring multiple metallic shades.

Jennifer accessorised the ensemble with Sara Weinstock earrings and had her blonde tresses styled by Jenny Cho into voluminous ringlets.

The star’s long-time stylists, Jill Lincoln and Jordan Johnson, posted several images of the outfit to their Instagram page, with many praising the fashion-forward look.

“So pretty it hurts my eyes,” one user commented, while another added, “This look is perfect! Stunning.”

One fan also compared Jennifer’s golden hair to the curls Sarah Jessica Parker wore while playing Carrie Bradshaw on TV show Sex and the City, and another felt that the Dior dress is the most eye-catching look the 27-year-old has worn since she stepped out in a red Calvin Klein ensemble with plunging neckline at the Academy Awards in 2011.

“BEST since that red Calvin moment! BRAVA,” they added.

Though Jennifer stole the spotlight at the Red Sparrow event, her co-stars also got dressed up for the night too.

Joely Richardson looked elegant in a black dress with red print which featured an off-the-shoulder neckline, and Nicole O’Neill braved the chilly weather and sported a tangerine minidress which she matched with statement earrings.

Joel Edgerton looked handsome in a pinstripe suit with grey tie and red pocket square, while Jeremy Irons donned jeans, a grey coat, and a red scarf.

Red Sparrow, which also stars Mary-Louise Parker, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Sergei Polunin, hits cinemas from 1 March.

Gwyneth Paltrow is among a group of entrepreneurs who have invested $7 million (£4.9 million) into plus-size brand Universal Standard.

The 45-year-old actress, who has found huge success with her lifestyle brand Goop, is branching into plus-size fashion by pledging her support for the direct-to-consumer, season-less brand.

According to Business of Fashion, the Iron Man star is among a group of entrepreneurs who have contributed to the company, set up by fashion journalist Alexandra Waldman and private equity veteran Polina Veksler in September 2015.

It’s a change for Gwyneth, who didn’t include plus-size clothing in her Goop clothing label when it launched in 2016. Other investors reportedly include MatchesFashion founders Tom and Ruth Chapman, Toms founder Blake Mycoskie, SoulCycle boss Elizabeth Cutler as well as Sweetgreen’s Jonathan Neman and Nicolas Jammet.

The cash injection will likely be used to aid the brand’s expansion, while also focusing on fabric innovation and the extension of size offerings. While the brand originally offered stylish essentials from a U.S. size 10 to a 28, it is hoping to offer sizes 6 to 32 in the coming year. The funding will also be used to help brand awareness and build a network of showrooms across America.

Among Universal Standard’s unique selling points, which is believed to have been largely responsible for attracting the attention of investors, is their Universal Fit Liberty initiative, which sees them replace purchases in a new size if the customer’s size fluctuates over the course of a year. This has helped them attract new customers, given that some have previously been unwilling to purchase larger clothes because they view their size as a “temporary circumstance”.

“Spending anything over $19.99 (£14.20) became a pain point because it was like making a commitment to your size,” Waldman explained. “We wanted to relieve the anxiety of that purchase decision, from both an emotional standpoint and a financial standpoint.”

The clothes that are returned to the brand as part of the Universal Fit Liberty initiative are donated to charity.

Salma Hayek loved being able to abandon Hollywood’s usual beauty standards when she starred in Beatriz at Dinner.

The actress played a dowdy holistic medicine practitioner who attends a wealthy client’s dinner party in the movie. Though the character’s plain look was a far cry from the stunning red carpet style Salma is used to, she shared her joy at being able to strip it back in order to portray the character.

“One of the great adventures I had in this movie was the possibility of being completely free from the pressure of being beautiful or looking good or dressing well,” she said in an interview with W magazine. “I don’t really put a lot of make-up (on) in my everyday life. So, that part was not so much. It was the bad clothes. It was the bad hair. I was excited.”

The 51-year-old, who revealed she was ill for the most part while shooting the movie, described the filming experience as a “great gift.”

“Although I do have to say, they did light me very badly on purpose,” she added.

The Frida star also shared her initial experience of the red carpet and recalled the unusual attire that was picked out for her when she attended an A-list bash for the first time.

“When I first started out, I had no money for big dresses, and no connections, except with Hugo Boss,” she explained. “And so, they gave me a suit, so I went dressed up like a man. It was actually quite interesting. I looked good.”

Salma has been nominated as Best Female Lead for her role as Beatriz at the Independent Spirit Awards. The Oscar nominee is currently working on comedy movie Drunk Parents alongside Alec Baldwin, which is due for release later this year.
