Michelle Williams and America Ferrera proudly showed off their baby bumps at the 2020 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards on Sunday night.

The actress hit the red carpet with her new fiance Thomas Kail, just weeks after news of her pregnancy broke, and stunned in a black off-the-shoulder Louis Vuitton dress.

Michelle’s blossoming baby bump was just visible underneath her flowing column dress, with the 39-year-old choosing to top off her look with a slick of ruby red lipstick and Forevermark jewellery.

And the star was also one of the winners at the ceremony, scooping the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries gong for her role as Gwen Verdon in drama series Fosse/Verdon.

While accepting her prize, Michelle paid tribute to Hamilton director Thomas, and also thanked her 14-year-old daughter Matilda, whom she shared with the late Heath Ledger.

“Tommy, like everything else in our life, I share this with you, and Matilda, it’s one thing to be completely honest as an actor. It’s another thing to be completely honest as a human being,” she gushed. “And that’s just who you are and how you live, and you teach me just by being you. I love you, and I’m coming home.”

Also hitting the red carpet with a blossoming baby bump was Superstore actress America, who announced in December that she was expecting her second child with husband Ryan Piers Williams.

The 35-year-old wowed in a chic sleeveless black crepe gown by Paule Ka, and shared a series of snaps on Instagram showcasing her pregnancy look.

“Mommy & Daddy go out (in matching tuxedos)!!” she wrote.

America Ferrera is determined to stay fit and strong during her second pregnancy.

Earlier this month, the Ugly Betty star announced that she and husband Ryan Piers Williams were expecting a little brother or sister for their 19-month-old son Sebastian.

Now, in a new Instagram post, America has shared a picture of her working out in the gym with her baby bump proudly on display. In the accompanying caption, she told her fans that she was trying to keep fit in an effort to stay healthy, both mentally and physically.

“Soooooooo hard to workout through the nausea and exhaustion of my first trimester!!! Some weeks I’d only muster one workout or I’d miss the week entirely, but I refused to feel like I had failed,” she wrote. “Through this pregnancy, I’m equally committed to feeling strong AND being kind to myself.”

It wasn’t long before America was quizzed on her reasons to exercise while pregnant, and she was asked by one curious follower why she felt she “had to” work out.

“I don’t have to. I like to. Staying active makes me feel stronger in the long run and it’s good for my mental sanity. Overall it makes me feel good, even when it can be a hard push from day to day,” the 35-year-old replied.

And America later told another fan who commented on her post that she didn’t work out at all during her first pregnancy because she felt “so tired and overwhelmed”. Yet, she was keen to make a change while pregnant the second time.

“I love how it makes me feel and I love taking time to do something that’s just for me,” she insisted of her gym sessions.

How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World has soared above the competition to secure a second week at number one on the North American box office chart.

The animated adventure, featuring the voices of Jay Baruchel and America Ferrera, debuted at the top last weekend with $55.5 million (£42 million), the biggest opening of 2019 to date, and it’s continued to draw audiences with follow-up haul of $30 million (£22.7 million).

The second weekend takings help to lift the final installment in the trilogy to just short of $100 million (£75.6 million) in North America, while it is still proving popular across the globe, holding in first place in the worldwide box office chart, too.

The How To Train Your Dragon sequel grossed enough in the U.S. and Canada to force Tyler Perry to settle for second place with his last cross-dressing turn as Madea. A Madea Family Funeral enters the chart with a strong $27 million (£20.4 million), making the comedy the third highest grossing film of the 15-year franchise.

Alita: Battle Angel falls one spot to third on the new chart, ahead of The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part at four.

Meanwhile, Green Book, the Best Picture winner at the 2019 Oscars, has received a big bump in ticket sales following its Academy Awards triumph.

Originally released in November (18), the biopic, about celebrated pianist Don Shirley’s real-life tour of the Deep South in 1960s segregated America, climbs to fifth place after taking $4.7 million (£3.6 million) in the first weekend following its big win. Green Book also picked up a Best Supporting Actor trophy for Mahershala Ali, and Best Original Screenplay for director Peter Farrelly, Nick Vallelonga, and Brian Hayes Currie.

Jay Baruchel is proud, in a sadistic way, that he makes people cry with the How To Train Your Dragon films.

The Canadian actor has been voicing the loveable Hiccup in the DreamWorks franchise since the first movie in 2010.

The third instalment, The Hidden World, was released in February (19), and Jay says he’s glad it gets people emotions going.

“That’s really cool. That’s cool. What’s weird is like, I don’t know if it’s sadistic to be proud that we make everyone cry but like Dean (DeBlois, write and director) said, if we make people cry, then we did our jobs,” Jay said to Cinema Blend. “It is very uncommon for any film to be universally loved and I haven’t seen a single bad thing about this movie at all. People are allowed to hate it, whatever, but yeah, it’s kind of staggering.”

Franchise regulars America Ferrera, Cate Blanchett, Gerard Butler, Jonah Hill, Kit Harington, Kristen Wiig, and Craig Ferguson are all back for chapter three, which follows Hiccup and his dragon Toothless as they hunt for a secret Dragon Utopia, though they face adversary from new baddie Grimmel.

“I can’t stress enough how inspiring it is and how proud I am to be a part of something that means what these movies and TV shows mean to as many people as it does,” Jay continued. “Like our fans are religious about our films and they take ownership of our characters and our stories. So for them to love number three means that they feel, we gave them the movie they deserve, which is like everything that we’re trying to do.”

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World has set the North American box office alight with a $55.5 million (£42.5 million) debut to hit number one.

The final instalment in the animated adventure trilogy, featuring the voices of Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, and Cate Blanchett, has scored the biggest opening weekend of 2019 so far, soaring above the previous record holder, Glass, which launched with $40 million (£30.6 million).

“We’ve been eagerly awaiting our first DreamWorks Animation release, and it’s great to celebrate this milestone with a number one opening,” reads a statement issued by Jim Orr, head of domestic distribution for Universal, which is now the parent company of DreamWorks Animation.

“(Director) Dean DeBlois has delivered a stunning film for a franchise that’s truly beloved.”

The bumper box office debut also marks the best in franchise history – the original 2010 release, loosely based on author Cressida Cowell’s 2003 book of the same name, grossed $495.8 million (£379.6 million) at the global box office, while its 2014 sequel, How to Train Your Dragon 2, was an even bigger success, earning $621.5 million (£475.9 million).

The Hidden World’s strong start forces last week’s most popular film, Alita: Battle Angel, to slip to a distant second place on the new chart, picking up another $12 million (£9.2 million), while another animated sequel, The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, takes third place with $10 million (£7.7 million).

Dwayne Johnson’s Fighting With My Family and satire Isn’t It Romantic round out the new top five.

Meanwhile, in the global box office chart, fantasy film Alita: Battle Angel still holds strong at number one with a total $104.4 million (£79.9 million) take, ahead of How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World with $90.2 million (£69 million).

New mum America Ferrera isn’t worried about shedding her pregnancy pounds because she is more focused on rebuilding her body’s strength.

The former Ugly Betty star gave birth to her first child, a son named Sebastian, with her husband Ryan Piers Williams in May (18), and now she’s more settled into life as a mum, America is starting to turn her attention to her own body.

“I’m just now starting to feel like I want to feel strong in my body again,” she tells Health magazine.

“I didn’t work out as much as I imagined I would during my pregnancy. I was in triathlon shape when I got pregnant. I had so much on my plate and something had to give.”

Despite being less active than she had planned, the 34 year old found herself feeling “really powerful and healthy” as she nurtured her unborn child.

“You create life. I found so much power in that,” gushes America, who is still breastfeeding her boy.

Motherhood has also affected the way the actress approaches her diet: “I have changed my relationship to food. I swore off (weighing) scales a long time ago,” she shares. “More than anything, I just try to be aware of how does what I eat make me feel? Do I feel better? Do I feel energized? Does this make me tired and not feel great?”

The star has also adopted a more relaxed approach to other aspects of her life, and is just determined to do her best with every task she faces.

“I try to go easy on myself,” she explains. “I think that’s been one of the mantras for me in all of motherhood – to try and not be so hard on myself. Which is a challenge because, like so many women, I demand so much more of myself than I would ever demand of someone else.”

Sarah Paulson, Tracee Ellis Ross and Amber Heard are among the big-name stars stylist Karla Welch has tapped to front her new collection for Levi’s.

Karla, who is regularly ranked among the world’s most powerful stylists, has called on her celebrity clientele and friends to help launch the Levi’s x karla 501 Day collection.

The line will be available on 20 May (18), the 145th anniversary of Levi’s receiving its rivet-pocket patent, resulting in the birth of the original blue jeans.

For the black and white campaign video, Yoko Ono donated her song Yang Yang in support of gun control organisation Everytown for Gun Safety. Other stars to feature in the clip and portrait series include Busy Philipps, SZA, Yara Shahidi, Hailey Baldwin, Amber Valletta, Michelle Monaghan and America Ferrera.

Talking about the collection, Karla explained that she added her own twist to some classic Levi’s pieces.

“It’s all very customisation focused,” she said in a statement. “They’re original designs based on the parameters of utilising a 501 or an existing Levi’s pattern.

“I wanted to imagine what the future of vintage was. If people inhabit Mars 200 years from now, what are the kids going to wear? This idea of creating something that would eventually become an iconic piece of vintage clothing is the basis of the whole collection.”

The collection, which is made up of jeans, jackets and shirts, marks the second time Karla has collaborated with a major brand. Last year, she teamed with Hanes on a line of white T-shirts.
