Julianne Hough is hopeful her virtual dance classes will help people connect to their “inner child” amid the coronavirus crisis.
The actress/dancer rose to fame as a professional champion and judge on Dancing with the Stars, and was previously a member of the America’s Got Talent panel.
Julianne launched a “high-sensory activated” exercise format called Kinrgy last August, and in a new interview with U.S. Women’s Health magazine, encouraged fans to take part while they are practicing social distancing at home during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“It’s a blessing to be able to offer (via the Internet) what people need most in this world right now… which is to feel certainty that they’re going to be O.K., and that they have the power to release all that stress and anxiety and fear,” she told the publication, before insisting the routines are suitable for everyone to try. “I believe we’re all dancers. We were much more self-expressed when we were kids. I’m trying to help people reconnect back to that inner child.”
In addition to taking part in Kinrgy classes, Julianne keeps up her fitness levels by participating in yoga, cycling, or weight training sessions. But she also takes time out of her busy schedule to meditate and investigate holistic practices.
“There is no right or wrong in my viewpoint. It is based on what works well for you,” the 31-year-old insisted. “If those modalities feel strange to people, it may not be for them-or it may not be for them yet-and I’m O.K. with that. I believe in helping people trust what’s already within them.”
