Gucci Beauty has unveiled Florence Welch, Anjelica Huston, Susie Cave and Jodie Turner-Smith as fragrance ambassadors for the label’s new perfume.

Details of Gucci Bloom, the first perfume developed wholly under creative director Alessandro Michele, were teased earlier this week on the Gucci Beauty Instagram page. Videos were shared of four talking flowers, complete with lips and teeth, reciting poetry.

Now the women behind the lips have been unmasked; Florence, Anjelica, Susie and Jodie.

According to the brand, the four “charismatic and charming talents” will make their Bloom debuts in an upcoming campaign at La Scarzuola in Italy’s Umbria region, which will “blur the lines between two universes, revealing the true heart of Gucci Bloom with an exploration of imagination and identity”.

Italian-Canadian director Floria Sigismondi shot the advert, with snippets already shared online.

“Exploring the abandoned theatres of La Scarzuola, unveiling singer songwriter @florence Welch from @florenceandthemachine as part of the cast for the new Gucci Bloom campaign. @gucci @alessandro_michele #GucciBeauty #InBloom #FlorenceWelch,” read one caption on Gucci Beauty’s Instagram.

Another stated: “The new Gucci Bloom campaign is set in a garden of dreams at the revered La Scarzuola, a mystical landmark found deep in Italy’s Umbrian hills near Orvieto.

“Chosen by @alessandro_michele, La Scarzuola—a surrealist architectural compound built around an old Franciscan convent near Orvieto in Italy—becomes the set of a campaign for the first time.”

Anjelica Huston was confused by Russian accept tips for John Wick 3

Actress Anjelica Huston struggled to perfect her Russian accent for John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum because her scene extras would confuse her with their pronunciations.

The Witches star, who was born in California but raised in Ireland, had no idea she was going to have to adopt a new twang for her role as the director of a school for assassins until after she had signed on, so she had to rush through her training with a dialect coach.

“I’ve never done Russian before,” she confessed on U.S. morning show Live with Kelly and Ryan. “They (producers) literally made my deal on Friday, and on Monday, I was Russian!”

However, Huston’s job was made all the more complicated after a number of her movie castmates, who were native Russian speakers, tried to correct her on even the most basic of phrases just before cameras started rolling.

“There was a certain dialect (I had to perfect), but there were also a lot of extras in my scenes, and most of them Russian, so although I had a great dialect coach, before I’d go on, they’d all go, ‘Dasvidaniya (goodbye).'”

Huston repeated their pronunciation of the farewell, only for the extras to insist she was doing it all wrong.

“I was completely confused!” she laughed.

Despite the accent trouble, the 67 year old had a lot of fun filming the Keanu Reeves hitman thriller, because she was already a fan of the first two installments, 2014’s John Wick and its 2017 sequel, John Wick: Chapter 2.

“I love these movies!” she smiled.

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, which also stars Halle Berry, hits theatres next week (begs13May19).

Halle Berry felt “so much pride” after she and Keanu Reeves nailed a tricky fight sequence for John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.

The third instalment of the action franchise picks up right where the second left off, with Reeves’ retired assassin John Wick trying to escape New York after having a global bounty of $14 million placed on his head for killing his nemesis inside the Continental hotel.

Berry is a new addition to the cast as a dog-loving hired assassin and Wick’s close friend Sofia, and she spent months training to hold her own besides Reeves.

“We had a scene where we’re on a rug and we had to take down like 12, 14, 15 some-odd guys together on a rug and I thought, ‘Hmm, how is this going to work? How are we not going to knock each other out and throw our guys? This isn’t going to happen,'” she recalled to Entertainment Tonight. “And then I remember when we did it I felt so much pride.

“I felt like, ‘Holy s**t, I just did a movie with Keanu on a rug and we did this s**t!’ I was so amped. That was the moment that it hit me that I was working with Keanu and I was a part of this franchise that I had loved so long.”

In addition to spending five days a week training for six months to learn martial arts, the Oscar winner also had to train with her canine co-stars.

“I worked with these dogs a lot so they could get to know me and I could get to know them,” she explained. “And I could command them on the day and wrangle them a little bit if things went crazy.”

The 52-year-old recently revealed that she broke three ribs rehearsing for the stunts, but she considers the injury “a badge of honour”.

John Wick 3, also starring Anjelica Huston, Ian McShane and Reeves’ old Matrix co-star Laurence Fishburne, hits cinemas from 15 May (19).

Anjelica Huston would work with Woody Allen again ‘in a second’

Actress Anjelica Huston wouldn’t hesitate to work with Woody Allen again because the embattled filmmaker has never been charged with any sex crime.

Allen’s reputation has taken a big hit in recent years as he continues to fight decades-old allegations suggesting he molested Dylan Farrow, the adopted daughter of his ex-girlfriend Mia Farrow, when the child was seven.

Investigations were previously launched by child welfare officials in New York and prosecutors in Connecticut, but they didn’t file any charges, and Allen has always maintained nothing happened.

Dylan stirred up the controversy again following the rise of the #MeToo movement in 2017, when she took aim at the stars who continue to sign on for his movies, leading to actors like Colin Firth, Mira Sorvino, Rebecca Hall, Freida Pinto, and Timothee Chalamet to publicly vow never work with the writer/director again.

However, Huston insists she won’t be taking such drastic action: “Two states investigated him, and neither of them prosecuted him,” she told Vulture.

Asked if she would work with him again, she replied, “Yes, in a second.”

The Addams Family star previously collaborated with Allen on 1989’s Crimes and Misdemeanors, and again in 1993 movie Manhattan Murder Mystery.

Meanwhile, Huston also offered her take on the sexual harassment accusations made against her Transparent co-star Jeffrey Tambor, who was fired from the TV show last year (18) following alleged incidents with his former assistant, Van Barnes, and actress Trace Lysette.

“At least insofar as I was concerned, nobody did or said anything inappropriate,” Huston recalled. “I do think in this work we have to feel freedom. We have to feel as though we can say and do things that are not necessarily judged, particularly by the other people in the cast or crew.”

Tambor vehemently denied all claims of inappropriate behaviour.

Former fur wearer Anjelica Huston is backing a proposed ban on fur sales in New York.

The Addams Family actress has thrown her support behind bills introduced in the New York City Council and in New York’s state Legislature to ban the sale of fur – following bans in other U.S. cities such as San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Writing an opinion piece for New York Daily News, Anjelica revealed that she’s ashamed of her past penchant for fur, but is now keen to educate others about why it should be banned.

“If you Google “Anjelica Huston fur,” you’ll find images of me in a variety of pelts. I thought they were a symbol of glamour and affluence,” she wrote.

“There are photos of me at awards shows in a white fox cape and a stole made from dozens of minks. This was decades before I learned that these animals are trapped, gassed, drowned, and even skinned alive. Lately, however, there are more recent images of me at PETA’s office cutting up these old furs to be used as bedding for orphaned wildlife. But I still feel shame for having supported the fur trade for so many years.”

She goes on to cite the big name fashion labels, like Versace, Chanel and Gucci, who have all pledged to drop fur.

Stating that a ban is the “is the only way to get at the root cause of such unlawful and unethical behaviour,” she added in details of how animals are killed for their coats.

“Few people who buy these items (with coyote trim) seem to know that wild coyotes are caught in steel traps. Some suffer for days in excruciating pain before trappers return to bludgeon them to death,” she stated. “Because traps don’t discriminate, other wild animals – as well as family dogs and cats – are often caught by mistake. In some instances, mothers with cubs have even been known to chew off their own legs to escape.

“Mink farmers have been caught injecting the animals with weed killer as well as breaking their necks and tossing them into a squirming pile. This is a sadistic shadow industry operating without oversight.”

Octavia Spencer is in talks to join Anne Hathaway in the latest movie adaptation of Roald Dahl’s novel The Witches.

In January (19), it was reported that The Princess Diaries actress had been cast as the Grand High Witch in Robert Zemeckis’ new film version of Dahl’s 1983 children’s tale about a seven-year-old boy who stumbles upon a coven of child-hating witches.

Now Hathaway looks set to be joined by The Shape of Water actress Spencer, who will play the boy’s grandmother.

Variety also reports that newcomer Jahzir Bruno will play the lead child while Holmes & Watson’s Codie-Lei Eastick will play another boy who has a run-in with the coven.

The book was previously adapted for the screen by director Nicolas Roeg in 1990 with Anjelica Huston as the Grand High Witch, but this remake is thought to be more loyal to the original source material.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Shape of Water moviemaker Guillermo del Toro had long been attached to helm the project but he will now produce alongside fellow Oscar winner Alfonso Cuaron. Del Toro wrote an early draft of the script but a new version is being penned by Zemeckis, who has taken over directing duties, and Black-ish creator Kenya Barris.

The Back to the Future and Forrest Gump filmmaker and his ImageMovers partner Jack Rapke will also produce the movie, which is scheduled to hit cinemas in October 2020.

Spencer, who is currently on the awards circuit as a producer of Green Book, has many projects in the pipeline. She can currently be seen in the comedy Instant Family and will be venturing into horror with Blumhouse Productions’ summer movie Ma. The Help actress will also be teaming up with her co-star from that film, Jessica Chastain, on a holiday comedy, as well as Bryce Dallas Howard on comedy Fairy Tale Ending.

Guillermo del Toro is considering taking on Roald Dahl’s The Witches as his next project.

The 1983 novel, about a secret society of child-hating evil witches, was given the Hollywood treatment in 1990, with Anjelica Huston appearing as the Grand High Witch, and Brenda Blethyn and Rowan Atkinson co-starring.

Talking to Mail Online, Guillermo said he was “eating, drinking and thinking philosophically” about four potential new projects, including The Witches. He also still wants to make Pinocchio in stop motion, a feature he has been trying to get off the ground for years.

“I have given myself until September to decide, then I will pick one of the four and prepare to make it,” he revealed.

And his lead The Shape of Water actress Sally Hawkins may well feature in his as yet undecided next project.

Hawkins took on the role of mute janitor Elisa Esposito in the movie, which bagged Guillermo his first Oscar. The film won a further three Academy Awards – Best Picture, Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures and Best Achievement in Production Design.

“Every time we meet up or speak on the phone or send an email the word ‘when’ is included. As in: ‘When are we to work together again?!'” he said of the English actress.

The Mexican filmmaker also has two TV projects he created currently in pre-production, Wizards and 3 Below, as well as crime drama Nightmare Alley and a new Michael Mann documentary.

Anjelica Huston has given her old fur coats “new purpose” by donating them to charity.

The Royal Tenenbaums star and longtime animal activist handed over a lynx-fur jacket, a muskrat-trimmed fur coat, a black rabbit hide hat and other items to officials at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) on Tuesday (30Jan18).

The garments and accessories will be transformed into bedding for animals and people who are struggling to keep warm in the winter.

“These coats were given to me decades ago, when I had no idea how animals suffered in the fur trade,” the actress writes in a statement to WENN. “They’ve been sitting in storage for over 20 years. By donating them to PETA, I’ll be giving them a new purpose by providing orphaned wildlife with bedding and helping the homeless keep warm.”

Anjelica’s old coats are going to be sent off to a variety of locations, from Beverly Hills to West Virginia, where homeless residents at the Scott Place Shelter will use the apparel to stay warm.

The Cuddle Coats organisation in Minnesota also benefits from the 66-year-old star’s donation – bosses at the charity plan to cut up the garments to make them into animal beds.

Huston, who was dubbed PETA’s Person of the Year in 2012, is the latest in a long line of celebrities who have gifted their furs to the animal rights group – Mariah Carey, Mary Tyler Moore, Sharon Osbourne and Kim Cattrall have also done so in the past.
