Ralph Lauren has served up Naval-inspired uniforms and sparkly dresses for spring/summer 2019.

The American designer unveiled his latest collection at his Ralph’s Cafe, which is housed within his Madison Avenue boutique, as part of New York Fashion Week on Thursday (07Jan19).

Celebrities including Karlie Kloss, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Camilla Belle, Zazie Beetz, and Annabelle Wallis were in attendance, with all of the guests seated at tables positioned around the room for the show.

In a statement, a brand representative described the range as full of glamour.

“The spring 2019 collection celebrates a pure and powerful kind of luxury with punctuations of high contrast and sleek shine,” they said. “It’s a personal style that is sophisticated, confident, and glamorous.”

To open the spectacle, model Taylor Hill made a grand statement in a white Naval uniform-inspired blazer, complete with gold buttons, with the ensemble matched with gold hoop earrings and a pair of flowing white trousers. Carolyn Murphy followed in a crisp white dress which was cinched in at the waist with a wide black and gold belt, with Lauren going on to unveil a line of monochromatic numbers with uniform-inspired touches.

However, part way through the spectacle, the designer returned to his preppy roots, offering up a black sweater with a gold chevron design, white shirts, and black shift dresses, with many models carrying oversized black patent totes.

Some of the highlights of the collection included a pair of gold lame trousers, a black jumpsuit with spaghetti straps, a black and white flower print chiffon gown with crossover halter neckline, and a black beaded trench coat.

And Lauren upped the extravagance in the finale, having Bella Hadid sport a gold dress with long pleated skirt, while another model wowed in a flowing gold gown which looked like molten metal as she walked.

New York Fashion Week continues on Friday with shows from Brock Collection, Cushnie, and Jeremy Scott.

Liam Payne, Luke Evans and Kate Moss are among the stars fronting the 2018 Save the Children’s Christmas jumper campaign.

Britain’s annual Christmas Jumper Day falls on 14 December, with the public encouraged to don a festive top in order to raise money for the children’s charity.

It marks the seventh time the event has taken place, and keeping up the tradition of making it a showbiz affair, a host of A-listers have been tapped to promote the initiative.

Models David Gandy, Daisy Lowe and Erin O’Connor, Olympian Sir Mo Farah, actors Annabelle Wallis, Eddie Marsan and Eiza Gonzalez, and rapper and Game of Thrones star Raleigh Ritchie are also a part of this year’s campaign.

Shot by Greg Williams, the stars pose in a variety of Christmas jumpers designed by Selfish Mother, which are available to buy now. The brand also created the 2017 offerings.

This year’s designs come in black or red versions of the sweaters, and feature either the word Peace, Hope, Love or Joy written on the front in block gold lettering. All come with a £55 ($72) price tag, with 50 per cent of proceeds donated to help children in the world’s toughest countries. Sharing Greg’s photography on his own Instagram page, The Hobbit star Luke wrote: “When I visited slum communities in India, I was truly shocked by the extreme levels of poverty that children are forced to live in. It was there that I witnessed first-hand the difference @SaveChildrenUK is making to children’s lives by helping give them better access to education. Please join me in supporting @SaveChildrenUK by wearing the @SelfishMother LOVE sweatshirt on Friday 14th December #ChristmasJumperDay.”

Peaky Blinders actress Annabelle also shared a message.

“You can make the world better with a sweater this Christmas! Get the PEACE or the JOY sweatshirt (or both! Like me!) or one of the other @SelfishMother sweaters from the @TheFMLYstore,” she wrote.

Actress Annabelle Wallis has been chosen to front campaigns for the new Panthere de Cartier watch collection.

Bosses at the classic timepiece company chose The Mummy star as their new brand ambassador for the new range of wristwatches because they think the British beauty possesses a cultured vibe.

“Behind her luminous complexion, blue eyes and gentle manner, the Maison (company) discovered a great strength of character, a fearless spirit and a hunger for self-expression: the soul of a panther, driven and determined to turn convention on its head and get her teeth into something,” Cartier representatives wrote in a statement to Women’s Wear Daily. “Annabelle Wallis embodies the Panthere woman.”

The Panthere de Cartier series of watches debuted in the 1980s and became a staple item for the brand, along with other classic offerings, such as the Tank, Santos de Cartier and Ballon Bleu De Cartier.

Wallis is the latest campaign star pulled from the red carpets of Hollywood after the jewellery company hired leading man Jake Gyllenhaal to front ads for the brand’s Santos de Cartier men’s line last month (Mar18).

Touting the Brokeback Mountain star’s fearlessness, company representatives revealed his courageous nature helped land him a spot in their new celebrity-driven marketing scheme.

“Integrity, dedication and boundless curiosity: Jake Gyllenhaal embodies the Santos de Cartier man. A man who commits utterly and does nothing by halves. A man who defines fearless as honest and true to himself,” Cartier a spokesperson said. “Jake Gyllenhaal reveals a new side to his talent with every film, performing a wide variety of roles. Cartier was drawn to his invincible style and fearless spirit.”
