Taylor Swift has continued with her pastel streak by wearing a lilac dress to the 2019 Billboard Music Awards.

Almost a week after dropping her new single ME!, the singer made a splash on the red carpet at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Wednesday night (01May19) when she stepped out in a light purple skater-style minidress from Raisa & Vanessa.

Taylor accessorised with matching high heels from Casadei, and a star-studded ear cuff, while her make-up artist Lorrie Turk completed the look by giving her a sweep of lavender-coloured eyeshadow on her lids and slick of rose-pink lipstick.

With her upcoming seventh studio album, Taylor has recently adopted a new pastel-shaded aesthetic, having been spotted out and about in New York City with pink dip-dyed hair and floral-printed dresses, while she also helped to design the peach and yellow-coloured J. Mendel gown that she wore to the recent Time 100 Gala.

In addition, the superstar has been curating her Instagram page to reflect her new theme, with the account now featuring close-up images of pink sequin fabric, a light blue bicycle, heart-shaped jewellery, pastel tiles, and pink and yellow handbags.

Other celebrities to make sartorial statements at the Billboard Music Awards included Cardi B, who rocked a canary yellow skirt and top from Moschino, and Diplo, who opted for a purple and gold cowboy-inspired suit.

Ciara wowed in a black dress with flowing train from Stephane Rolland, actress Olivia Wilde dazzled in a gold Ralph Lauren number, and Jennifer Hudson opted for a brown Area Suit with crystal detailing, which she matched with Stuart Weitzman shoes and The Residency earrings.

Sophie Turner, who wed fiance Joe Jonas following the ceremony, sported head-to-toe Louis Vuitton, while her sister-in-law Priyanka Chopra looked stunning in a white Zuhair Murad Couture ensemble.

Elsewhere, Halsey turned heads in a blue satin and black lace dress, which she matched with dramatic make-up and purple lipstick, and rapper Yung Miami rocked a neon green tulle dress from Oyemwen and bright yellow Christian Louboutin pumps.

Mila Kunis debuted a new hairstyle at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night (20May18).

The Bad Moms actress stepped out on the red carpet at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas sporting a black top and matching skirt with silver beading from David Koma, as well as black stilettos and smoky eye make-up.

But it was her blunt bangs which caught the most attention, with her wavy locks and new fringe courtesy of hairdresser Chad Wood.

“Bangs and bobs are this year’s theme for sure!” the hair expert captioned a snap of Mila’s new look posted on his Instagram page.

Many social media followers were quick to praise Mila’s chic makeover, with one fan writing, “She looks better than ever,” while another commented: “Stunning haircut.”

However, it wasn’t just Mila that Chad styled on the night, as he also was the man behind Jenna Dewan’s new bob. The World of Dance host had her chin-length tresses styled poker straight and matched her new look with studded black leather minidress from Zuhair Murad.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez also ditched her signature flowing ponytail for the night and instead opted for a textured long bob hairstyle with lots of gold and caramel highlights. The superstar complemented her hair with a burgundy top, bra and skirt from Roberto Cavalli and topped off the ensemble with dark red leather thigh-high boots from Casadei and bling from Yeprem.

Other standout outfits from the night included the pale pink Versace number worn by Taylor Swift, who hasn’t made a red carpet appearance for two years, and the structured black Christian Siriano gown donned by singer Kelly Clarkson.

Popstar Dua Lipa stood out in a purple metallic Alexandre Vauthier wrap dress and actress Alison Brie wowed in a black and white Giambattista Valli outfit.

Kelly Clarkson fooled everyone with a short blonde look at the Billboard Music Awards – her real long hair was woven into the weave.

The Stronger singer hosted the ceremony in Las Vegas on Sunday (20May18) and stunned fans with her platinum blonde tresses, with many style pundits and critics assuming she was debuting a new long bob, known as a lob.

But Kelly didn’t chop off her real hair for the look, revealing it was a temporary hairstyle that concealed her long locks in a masterfully orchestrated weave.

“No, all mine (real long hair) is braided!” she told Extra on the red carpet. “The top portion is mine and then the rest of it is weave! I love it because my hair guy Robert (Ramos), I can have any hair I want, but I can still keep my long hair and put it in a bun!”

Kelly pulled off even more fashion marvels at the prizegiving, changing her outfit eight times, opting for three Christian Siriano looks, a Balmain number and a Versace leather dress, among others, with every ensemble carrying a dazzling black, gold or sparkly theme.

Her stylist, Candice Lambert McAndrews, gushed about the looks on Instagram, praising her client for having “killed it” with her feisty fashion sense.

The style expert has previously raved about working with Kelly, stating, “I present clothes and ideas for each show to her. We try them on and we go with what we both love the most. Each night we are trying a different vibe. It’s so much fun.”

“She has a beautiful figure and a small waist,” Candice added. “I try to put her in outfits that fit her well; fit is the most important part, especially for curvy women. I think the best way to dress her is to show off her body type, show off her curves and accentuate her body type.”
