Beyonce and her daughter Blue Ivy Carter pulled out all the stops at The Lion King world premiere on Tuesday night.
The 37-year-old superstar, who voices the character of Nala in the live-action Disney remake of the 1994 animated classic, looked stunning in her custom Alexander McQueen tuxedo dress, which featured a diamond-encrusted jacket with black tulle skirt attached.
Blue courted attention with her look too – a mini version of her mother’s dress, also made by Alexander McQueen – as the duo walked the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.
The seven-year-old wore a crisp white shirt under her jacket and accessorised her outfit by wearing diamond hairbands around two buns on top of her head.
However, Blue and Beyonce weren’t the only ones to coordinate for the premiere, as the singer’s former Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams were also in attendance, and ensured they’d look good posing next to their pal in their ensembles.
While Kelly opted for a zebra-print dress, Michelle wore a silver number which featured mirrored detailing in a giraffe-style pattern.
Other celebrities in attendance included Halle Bailey, Meghan Trainor, Yara Shahidi, Zooey and Emily Deschanel, Jamie Foxx, Jimmy Kimmel, Ali Wong, Lena Waithe, Chrissy Metz, and Tiffany Haddish.
The premiere came just hours after Beyonce dropped her new song Spirit, taken from upcoming album The Lion King: The Gift. The mother-of-three will also be curating the record, which features various artists and is “steeped in the sounds of Africa”.
In the gospel-inspired song, Beyonce sings: “Spirit, watch the heavens open/ Spirit, can you hear it calling? / Your destiny is coming close/ Stand up and fight.”
The Lion King: The Gift is due for release on 19 July – the same day as The Lion King hits cinemas.
