Ariana Grande’s perfume Cloud took home took Fragrance of the Year: Women’s Popular Award at the 2019 Fragrance Foundation Awards.

The Thank You, Next hitmaker entered the perfume market in 2015 with debut scent ARI by Ariana Grande.

Cloud, her fifth fragrance, was launched in September 2018. Housed in a cloud-shaped bottle, it is a “dreamy blend of alluring lavender blossom, forbidden juicy pear, and mouthwatering bergamot”. It’s further described on the website of Ulta Beauty, her perfume partner, as an “uplifting scent that imbues a thoughtful, artistic expression of positivity and happiness”.

On Wednesday, it beat out the likes of Britney Spears’ Prerogative, Kim Kardashian’s KKW Body, Victoria’s Secret Tease Rebel, and Wild Spirit Fragrances’ Driftwood Eau de Parfum.

Other big winners on the night included Tom Ford, who was inducted to the Fragrance Foundation Hall of Fame and won Fragrance of the Year: Women’s Luxury for Lost Cherry, Game Changer award winner Laura Slatkin and perfumer Dominique Ropion, who received the Lifetime Achievement prize.

“Creating scent is a powerful thing – scent can alter a mood, change an experience…quite simply, it can enhance our lives,” said Ford. “Much of the pleasure in my life has been derived from scent – I never met a flower I didn’t like.”

And Chanel and Marc Jacobs took home multiple awards; the French fashion house being honoured in the Fragrance of the Year: Men’s Luxury (Chanel Bleu de Chanel Parfum), Packaging of the Year: Women’s (Chanel No.5 Limited Edition) and Media Campaign of the Year: Men’s (Chanel Bleu de Chanel Pafrum) categories, while Jacobs went home with Social Media Campaign of the Year and Consumer Choice: Women’s Prestige, both for Marc Jacobs Daisy Love.

YSL’s Black Opium, Donna Karan’s Cashmere Mist and Dior’s Sauvage Eau de Parfum were also among the winners.

Britney Spears has further reassured fans she’s fine after taking time off to deal with stress by posting a new workout video online.

The singer took to Instagram on Wednesday (24Apr19), hours after posting a video statement about her health, and shared footage of herself lifting weights and dancing to Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin’s I Like It.

“Who knew stress would be a great 5 pound weight loss. Yay for me,” she wrote under the video.

Spears previously fired back at reports suggesting she was being held in a mental institution against her will.

“Hi guys, just checking in with all of you who have been concerned about me,” Spears said in the video. “All is well. My family has been going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately so I just needed time to deal. But don’t worry I will be back very soon.”

In an accompanying caption, she wrote: “There’s rumors, death threats to my family and my team, and just so many things crazy things being said. I am trying to take a moment for myself, but everything that’s happening is just making it harder for me. Don’t believe everything you read and hear.

“My situation is unique, but I promise I’m doing what’s best at this moment. You may not know this about me, but I am strong, and stand up for what I want! Your love and dedication is amazing, but what I need right now is a little bit of privacy to deal with all the hard things that life is throwing my way. If you could do that, I would be forever grateful. Love you.”

Spears checked herself into a health facility earlier this month (Apr19) to deal with stress brought on by her father’s current medical crisis following colon surgery.

On Tuesday, her boyfriend Sam Asghari assured fans she was going to be fine during a chat with TMZ, stating, “She’s doing great. Thank you for your concern… She’s doing amazing. Her fans are so amazing to be so concerned, but she’s doing great. Nobody needs to worry.”

Britney Spears is giving fans a glimpse of her workout routine by documenting her impressive yoga moves on social media.

The singer shared a video of the fitness regime she has undertaken while on tour on Instagram on Monday (13Aug18), revealing she takes two hours out of her day for yoga sessions in her hotel rooms.

“Traveling from hotel to hotel can make you a little stir crazy, so I decided to start doing 2 hours of yoga in each room!” she captioned the post. “I was very sore the next day, but at least I got to use my time wisely.”

The Baby One More Time hitmaker shared body positive inspiration on the photo-sharing site by posting a quote on self-acceptance.

“Being cool is being your own self, not doing something that someone else is telling you to do,” she wrote. “Thats what i do all the time (sic). im cool with myself.”

The mother-of-two often shares footage of her intense workouts, which sometimes involve her boyfriend Sam Asghari, via her social media accounts. She credits her fitness trainer beau with her newfound dedication to exercise.

“Britney has never been happier, eaten healthier or taken better care of herself,” a source told Britain’s Heat magazine. “Sam has made her see fitness as fun, and it’s become such an important part of her life.

“She wakes up at 7am, goes on a run, lifts weights and then does Pilates. This all takes two hours. After lunch, she works out another two hours to dance music and stretches with Sam. Then, after dinner, she usually does yoga and more weightlifting for an hour.”

Britney Spears loves experimenting with different looks when it comes to her music videos.

The singer is the voice behind some of music’s most famous pop hits, and as well as producing a selection of beloved tunes, she’s also flaunted a number of iconic personas in her music videos. From the Catholic schoolgirl in …Baby One More Time, to the air hostess turned leather-clad siren in Toxic, and the statement red catsuit in Oops!… I Did It Again, Britney has never been afraid to play with fashion and beauty.

“I like it when I change it up and there’s no specific character, you know? When there’s a bunch of different characters involved,” she explained in an interview with British Vogue. “I think one character is kind of boring and that’s what most people do for videos and stuff like that. So I think ‘Toxic’ is one of my favourite looks because it was like a superhero and imagination type thing. There were so many superheroes she turned into, kind of like a superwoman.”

As well as her impressive musical legacy, the pop star has also had a lasting influence on the beauty industry thanks to the scores of fragrances she’s released since 2004, including Curious and Fantasy. Britney has recently unveiled her latest perfume named Prerogative, a neutral gender-free scent which she describes as “something different” and “empowering.”

The 36-year-old also shared details behind her make-up regime, revealing that “Less is more” is her day-to-day mantra, and detailed her unexpected skincare saviour.

“I’m all about a good astringent toner before I put my moisturiser on. I can’t just put moisturiser on – I have breakouts because I work out,” she said. “I don’t actually get zits or acne, I just get these red marks where it’s, like, about to break out and it shows up like a rash on the side of my face. So I like for it to feel like zingy clean with astringent.”

Britney Spears’ Pride perfume promotion sparks backlash

Britney Spears has been accused of using her Pride gig in Brighton, England as a tool to promote her perfume.

The Toxic singer performed at the event, the U.K.’s biggest celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community, on Saturday (04Aug18).

The day after the concert she took to Twitter to thank fans for attending, but included a sneaky bit of promotion for her gender-neutral fragrance, My Prerogative – which was also given out free to fans on scented wristbands.

She wrote: “Loved seeing so many people out celebrating diversity and inclusion for #pride here in the UK! Having the freedom to be who you want to be is so important, which is why we made Prerogative, a fragrance for ALL!! Check it out exclusively at @BootsUK #MyPrerogative.”

Her tweet didn’t sit well with some of the LGBTQ community, however, including editors at Attitude magazine who responded by calling her post “terrible” in a message sent via their Twitter account.

Another irate tweeter added: “All those years fighting oppression, for Britney to come along and turn it into a commercial for perfume. What a d**k.”

Other fans described the move as “tacky”, although some saw the funny side of her attempt to plug her perfume.

“Only Britney is allowed to do a tweet about Pride and inclusion then use it to flog perfume ok,” one admirer wrote, while another added, “Britney doing a gig at pride just to promote a perfume is the most Britney thing I’ve heard all week.”

The star has also released a special Pride edition of another fragrance, Fantasy, with $1.30 (£1) of each $53 (£40) bottle going to support U.S. media monitoring group GLAAD, formerly the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.

Britney’s show delighted fans, although she reportedly forgot where she was performing and had to ask her dancer, before giving a shout out to Brighton Pride.

Many concertgoers complained that they were left stranded as train services taking them to and from the gig were inadequate. In response to complaints of overcrowding, Pride organisers told NME.com they were “appalled” bosses at the Govia Thameslink Railway failed to put on sufficient trains, claiming they had put Pride attendees’ “safety in jeopardy”.

Britney Spears is gearing up to unveil her first unisex fragrance.

The popstar established her perfume brand in partnership with Elizabeth Arden back in 2004 and has since gone on to find success with scents such as Curious, Circus and Fantasy.

Britney launched her 24th fragrance, Sunset Fantasy, in January (18), and announced on her Instagram page on Monday (16Jul18) that she will soon release a unisex perfume named Prerogative.

“Prerogative. A fragrance for all. #MyPrerogative,” she captioned a short video showing her dancing in black PVC lingerie in front of a series of TV screens, with the clip concluding with a close-up shot of a dark pink glass perfume flacon with the word Prerogative imprinted on the front.

Earlier, Britney uploaded a video showing a male model unbuttoning his shirt while she spritzed the fragrance on his chest.

By naming the perfume Prerogative, the singer is keeping to her tradition of naming her beauty products after some of her hit tunes.

Britney covered Bobby Brown’s 1988 song My Prerogative in 2004, though changed some of the lyrics to fit in with her perspective as a woman.

“Everybody’s talking all this stuff about me / Why don’t they just let me live? (Tell me why) / I don’t need permission, make my own decisions / That’s my prerogative,” she sings in the track.

Britney has yet to share details about the notes of the Prerogative fragrance or announce a release date.

Previously, the Piece of Me hitmaker explained that her choice of scent depends on her mood.

“I love the idea (of) helping people feel sexy, strong and confident, and I think my fragrances show that. Each of my fragrances represents a different side of my personality and my passions,” she told People.com.

Britney Spears fronts new Kenzo campaign

Britney Spears has scored her first luxury fashion campaign with Kenzo.

The Toxic hitmaker has signed on as a Spring 2018 spokesmodel for the label’s second La Collection Memento range, which pays tribute to the Kenzo Jeans debut in 1986.

Britney posed for the new ads in Paris with photographer Peter Lindbergh, and the first three images from the campaign feature the pop superstar wearing a cropped green sweatshirt and denim cap, a floral crop top with matching jacket, pants, and cap, and a cropped denim jacket over a matching bra and briefs set with thigh-high lace-up boots.

The singer was drawn to the line’s nostalgic pieces, but as a mother-of-two, felt a little out of place modelling some of the more risque looks on the streets of the French capital.

“This collection is very youthful,” Britney tells Vogue.com. “We had fun on set, even though it was a bit weird for me at first. I am used to shooting in a studio or a small space and this was out on the street.

“We were out there and I had really promiscuous clothes on, which felt odd but, of course, on film it turned out to be really cool.”

Spears is famed for bursting onto the pop scene dressed in a sexy schoolgirl outfit for her …Baby One More Time video back in 1998, but the singer, now 36, admits motherhood has made her tone down her wardrobe choices in recent years.

“It’s tricky because as a mother, you don’t take as much risk with your style,” she shares. “I think when I was younger I took so many risks and really went for it. There was no planning what I wore and it was like, OK, I am just going to put on the most outrageous thing. I think as a mother you hold back from that out of fear of embarrassing your kids and out of respect for them.”

However, Britney’s new Kenzo gig has inspired her to add a little playfulness to her sense of style, a lesson she’s also learned from allowing her boys Sean, 12, and Jayden, 11, to pick out their own clothes, even if the colours or patterns clash.

“(It’s) intoxicating because you are like, ‘You know what? I’m not going to care what I wear today,'” she smiles.

“As a mother, I used to be very strict about what they wore but, at this point, they are growing up and becoming their own people. I want them to do their own thing – I respect that.”

Meanwhile, Britney unveiled her new Kenzo ads to fans on Twitter on Tuesday (20Mar18).

“So excited to announce my new campaign for @KENZO’s La Collection Memento No2 shot by @peterlindbergh!!! #kenzolovesbritney,” she captioned the post.

Britney Spears took home the Fragrance of the Year Award when she attended the Hollywood Beauty Awards on Sunday (25Feb18).

The singer has released a whopping 24 perfumes with collaborator Elizabeth Arden since the pair first teamed up in 2004, and the 36-year-old was honoured at the ceremony for her latest fragrance, Fantasy In Bloom.

Britney picked up her accolade at Avalon Hollywood wearing a daring sheer mini-dress decorated with embellishment and beading, and her loose blonde tresses were styled by hairstylist Lorenzo Martin.

The Piece of Me hitmaker has had huge success with her Fantasy fragrance collection, which boasts 16 different perfumes in total, and was delighted to be rewarded for the latest addition to the set.

“Wow! Thank you #HollywoodBeautyAwards!!! So honored to have Fantasy In Bloom named #FragranceoftheYear,” the popstar wrote on her Twitter account when she learned the news.

Ron Rolleston, Revlon’s executive vice-president of Global Fragrance Marketing, presented the 36-year-old with her prize at the black tie dinner gala, which also benefited the Helen Woodward Animal Center.

The Grammy winner will soon be kicking off the 12-date North American leg of her Britney: Piece of Me Tour when she performs at the MGM National Harbor in Maryland on July 12 (18).

The event was also attended by Black Panther star Danai Gurira who donned a coral-embellished long-sleeved dress, a black clutch, and matching stilettos selected by stylist Thomas Carter Phillips. The 40-year-old Tony winner was spotted mingling with Samuel L Jackson at the bash, and the Pulp Fiction actor took to Instagram to sing Danai’s praises.

“I’ve Always been impressed by @danaigurira, glad y’all caught up!!” said the 69-year-old.

Other attendees included socialite Paris Hilton, and actresses Elizabeth Banks and Kat Graham.
