BTS have been appointed global brand ambassadors for Italian sportswear giant Fila.
The K-pop group announced the partnership on Tuesday and revealed they will be wearing items from the label in appearances across the globe. The seven bandmates will also headline a global ad campaign early next year with the tag line “One World, One Fila”.
“BTS’ passion, positivity, and their genuine communication with fans are qualities that align with FILA,” said representatives for the firm. “Their energetic and unique personalities also make them an optimal fit as brand ambassadors. We look forward to creating a meaningful synergy between two global brands. We are extremely thrilled to welcome BTS as FILA brand ambassadors.”
The DNA hitmakers previously joined forces with rival sportswear brand Puma for a collection last year.
The news comes just months after the band’s management issued a statement alerting fans to an upcoming hiatus, asking them to let the pop idols rest up in peace so they can all return “refreshed and recharged”.
“We would like to announce that for the first time since their debut, BTS will be going on an official and extended period of rest and relaxation,” the statement read. “This period of rest will be an opportunity for the members of BTS, who have relentlessly driven themselves towards their goal since their debut, to recharge and prepare to present themselves anew as musicians and creators. This will also provide them with a chance to enjoy the ordinary lives of young people in their 20s, albeit briefly.”

Dior designer Kim Jones has been revealed as the mastermind behind the costumes for BTS’s world tour.
The visionary for the luxury label has crafted the looks the South Korean boy band will wear on the next leg of their Love Yourself: Speak Yourself concerts, which are set to kick off in Los Angeles on Saturday (04Apr19). The menswear creator developed seven looks for the stars that were inspired by his pre-fall collection and includes shiny, military-inspired items and athletic attire.
The personalities of each band member inspired Jones as he crafted the pieces.
“They all have their personal taste and style and it works so well together,” Jones tells Women’s Wear Daily. “Each member of the group chose the look they wanted, and we worked very organically to create each look for them. It was very collaborative.”
The fashion visionary first met the group ahead of the Grammy Awards in February (19) and he is thrilled to be collaborating with artists who have such a devoted fan base.
“They are really great guys and super into fashion, and everyone I know is kind of crazy about them,” he adds. “When I speak to my friends about meeting them, they all are obsessed by them.”
Jones took to Instagram to share his excitement about the venture and posted a sketch of the group wearing his concepts.
“Excited to announce the tour costumes for BTS for Dior,” he captioned the drawing.
The next leg of the BTS tour will take the band to Chicago, New Jersey, Sao Paulo, London and Paris.
The beloved singers are currently riding high after taking home the prizes for Top Duo/Group and Top Social Artist at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on Wednesday (02Apr19) night.

Pop superstars BTS are unveiling a new clothing collection with Hot Topic, which celebrates each group member’s personality.
The K-Pop stars have joined forces with the edgy fashion brand for a new 13-piece line, which includes bright T-shirts and sweatshirts, a follow-up to the first installment of the collaboration, which hit stores in April (18) and offered headbands, key chains, and sleep masks.
The new pieces feature images of cartoon characters known as BT21, which were initially inspired and developed by the seven bandmembers. The group’s space robot Van, which signifies its ‘Army’ of fans, also appears in the graphics.
The emoji characters grew popular with devotees through the messenger app Line Friends, leading to their use in BTS’ latest fashion project.
“Even though the characters might look cute, we will develop (the line) into more styles that relate the characters to hip-hop and street fashion,” Sehoon Chang, the CEO of Line Friends America, told Billboard last year (17). “It’ll be like a walking billboard that’s great for the (BT21) brand, and from the consumer’s point of view it will be a show of identity. Engaging with the fans is really important.”
The K-pop sensations have been making their mark on the fashion world as of late, with a collaboration with Converse also announced earlier this year (18).
Released in July (18), the Converse shoeline also drew from the BT21 characters and offered three styles of the Chuck Taylor All Stars design.
“As BT21 has captivated millennials around the globe, Converse introduces an offering that goes beyond simple endorsement,” a statement from the brand’s representatives read.

Ansel Elgort gets all of his skincare product advice from his girlfriend Violetta Komyshan.
The Baby Driver actor not only takes care of his complexion for his film roles, but also his modelling gigs, as he was named as the face of Ralph Lauren’s Polo Red Rush cologne in July (18).
While Ansel tends to stick to using a simple cleanser and moisturiser, he has now shared that he isn’t afraid to check out some of ballerina Violetta’s buys and even let her apply one of GlamGlow’s glitter masks to his face recently.
“Most of the products I try come from Violetta,” he told Allure. “She’s constantly giving me new things to try.”
Ansel went on to explain that he always applies sunscreen when he’s going outdoors. However, he admitted that he knew very little about the basics of skincare before he met with make-up artists on the set of 2013 horror film Carrie.
“I really didn’t know anything about skincare until I was on my first movie set,” the 24-year-old said. “The make-up team said to me, ‘Your skin is so dry – you know you can moisturise.'”
Previously, Ansel divulged that he often borrows items from his high school sweetheart Violetta’s wardrobe, including her handbags. And in addition to taking inspiration from his girlfriend’s closet, he explained that he also greatly admires the sartorial choices made by members of South Korean boy band BTS.
“I love how fearlessly they are styled… I love the make-up they wear and their hairstyles – it’s cool and different,” he commented, adding that the stars’ outfits are much more “out there” than the garments worn by American celebrities.
