Busy Philipps signed on to front lingerie firm Aerie’s latest campaign for her daughters.

The actress and TV host has shared a lengthy Instagram post explaining her decision to pose in her underwear for the label, alongside British actress Jameela Jamil and The Handmaid’s Tale star Samira Wiley, revealing her own beliefs align with Aeire’s philosophy.

“I cannot explain to you what an honour it is to join @aerie as an #AerieREAL Role Model,” she began her post, alongside one of the campaign images. “Since 2014, Aerie has committed to using NO RETOUCHING on their models and the brand has been a champion for body positivity and inclusiveness. @aerie is about empowering women and girls by showing images of real unretouched bodies.

“I know for a fact I want my daughters to grow up in a world where they know and understand that true beauty comes from the inside out and true beauty doesn’t ever look just one way. The more we can have images out in the world that reflect that to us, the more that will become our reality.”

Busy, who has 10-year-old Birdie and Cricket, five, with her screenwriter spouse Marc Silverstein, went on to detail how she has wasted “so much time” hating her stomach over the years, but she has finally come to accept it.

“I wish I hadn’t been sold the lie that to achieve true happiness I needed a flat tummy and no hips so I could look like a model in an ad,” the star said.

As well as showing off her toned body in the campaign images, the 39-year-old also has her distinctive moles on full display.

Julia Roberts didn’t intend to make a statement with her hairy armpits at the Notting Hill premiere in 1999.

Opening up about the incident, where she showed off her unshaven pits at the London opening of the romcom, Julia told Busy Philipps on her new show Busy Tonight on Sunday night (04Nov18) that she didn’t realise the red sequinned Dolce & Gabbana dress, which featured capped sleeves, revealed so much.

“The picture is vivid in my mind actually, from that, from that moment. It wasn’t…ya know…I think I just hadn’t really calculated my, my sleeve length and the waving, and how those two things would go together and reveal personal things about me,” she recalled. “So, it wasn’t so much a statement as it’s just part of the statement I make as a human on the planet, for myself.”

Busy, 39, had told the Oscar-winning actress she had assumed that the skipped shaving session was a punk rock and cool move when she was younger, but didn’t seem disappointed when Julia explained what had actually happened.

“Which is very dope and I’m here for it,” she laughed.

Elsewhere in the chat, Busy praised Julia’s Instagram debut in June 2018, especially when the 51-year-old clapped back at a user who critiqued her nail polish colour in September.

“I did not mean to clap back, I’d never heard the words clap back,” she laughed. “I was just being amusing – something stumbled into my eyeball range and I was like, ‘Oh.’ And I was just being funny and a little school teachery (by) correcting. But then people were like, ‘Clap back!’ For me, I’m an actor, clapping is my sustenance!”

Rebel Wilson dazzled in custom Givenchy at 2018 InStyle Awards on Monday night (22Oct18).

The comedy star led a parade of celebrities at the Getty Center in Los Angeles and stood out in a black lace Givenchy dress designed for her by artistic director Clare Waight Keller.

In a chat with People.com, the Pitch Perfect actress explained that her garment was particularly special because it is the first custom piece Clare has overseen since creating Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s wedding gown back in May.

“I think the last big couture piece that Clare Waight Keller did was Meghan Markle’s wedding dress,” the 38-year-old explained to the publication. “And now she’s making me a dress so that’s kind of amazing just in and of itself. But then factor in the fact that it’s Givenchy – an amazing Paris fashion house – I’m a bit shocked how it all happened but really grateful. I think it’s a really cool move that they’re being inclusive with someone like me.”

During the ceremony, Rebel took to the stage to present her stylist Elizabeth Stewart, who also works with Julia Roberts, Cate Blanchett, Gal Gadot, Viola Davis, Jessica Chastain and Sandra Bullock, with the Stylist of the Year Award.

“Tonight I had the honour of presenting the Stylist of the Year Award to my brilliant stylist @elizabethstewart1 x even though she styles all the cool chicks like Julia, Cate, Gal, Viola, Jessica, Sandra…somehow this cool chick has time for me!” Rebel wrote alongside a photo of herself with Elizabeth at the bash. “Congrats Elizabeth, you deserve all the trophies! You’re so creative, talented, generous and kind!”

Other stars to get dressed up for the event included Storm Reid, who sported a black sequin Preen number, and Lea Michele, who opted for a David Koma slip dress.

Tracee Ellis Ross wore a Giambattista Valli Couture dress with Irene Neuwirth jewellery, Busy Philipps chose an Off-White ensemble and Miranda Kerr stepped out in a gold sequin Tom Ford minidress and black Chanel coat.

But style star Elizabeth and Oscar-winning actress Julia made a real sartorial statement by posing together in matching lilac Givenchy suits, Jacquie Aiche necklaces and Clergerie shoes.

Julia was presented with the Style Icon Award, Clare received Fashion Designer of the Year, Jeff Goldblum took home Man of Style, stylist Karla Welch was named Voice of Style and actress Constance Wu was awarded Badass Woman.

In addition, Jennifer Aniston’s hairstylist Chris McMillan was honoured with Hairstylist of the Year and James Kaliardos won Make-up Artist of the Year.

Busy Philipps is teaching her children how to follow a balanced diet by allowing them to eat cookies when they don’t fancy fruit.

The former Dawson’s Creek actress recently admitted that she’s never had Botox or injectables, though she does enjoy beauty treatments like face masks to help combat wrinkles and fine lines.

And when it comes to her diet and fitness levels, Busy likes to stay healthy but is also happy to indulge when she’s in the mood – a mentality she is passing on to her daughters Birdie, 10, and Cricket, five.

“My whole philosophy in life is about trying to be balanced and as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realised that’s the only way that anything is sustainable – any diet, any exercise programme, you have to be able to allow yourself balance,” she explained in a chat with Shape. “And so why shouldn’t the same thing apply to my children, you know? Obviously, we try to offer fruit when they want something sweet, but if they don’t want the fruit I allow them to have the cookie! And I’m okay with that. I wanted cookies too when I was a kid.”

The 39-year-old adds that she doesn’t want her girls, who she shares with husband Marc Silverstein, to develop a “weirdness” with their food or their bodies, and, as their role model, she wants to lead by example.

Busy recently partnered with juice brand Tropicana to launch Tropicana Kids, a new line of organic fruit drinks, and has been giving them to Birdie and Cricket to cool down in the Los Angeles heat.

“It’s 45 per cent juice and filtered water, so I’m into it,” she smiled.

Actress Busy Philipps rang in her 39th birthday with pink hair.

The former Dawson’s Creek star celebrated her birthday on Monday (25Jun18) and shared her dye disaster with fans.

Posting a picture of herself sporting colourful hair on Instagram Story, she wrote: “Guys. I had a hair dye mishap on my birthday. Accident. I used a new dye and it’s like bright fuchsia. Oh no,” Busy told her fans. “But it will fade. You know, whatever. Maybe this is who I am now. 39. This is me.”

Hours later, she returned to social media to confess her new pink look was growing on her: “Look at what the light did now,” she wrote under another selfie. “Thank you for all your kind and sweet birthday wishes. I’m happy I’m here.”

Busy loves to share moments from her life with followers on social media and recently posted video of a mummy meltdown after she realised she had left her daughter Birdie’s cuddly toys behind following a vacation to Hawaii, but there’s a few things that are sacred to her that she’ll never open up about on Instagram or Twitter.

“There’s some private stuff that I don’t talk too intensely about,” she told Health magazine. “There’s stuff with (husband) Marc (Silverstein) and our relationship that I don’t think is appropriate for me to put out publicly because of my children.”

The actress also refuses to post her two kids’ “horrible moments”, stating, “People are like, ‘Your girls always look so sweet’, and I’m like, ‘Yeah, because I’m not gonna post their horrible moments for you to see!’ That’s not fair to them.”

Busy Philipps has assured fans her moles were not photoshopped out on her Health magazine cover shoot.

Busy excitedly shared a photo of the cover on her Instagram page, and thanked editors for including her in the issue.

The I Feel Pretty actress is seen posing in a red bikini in the snap, though some of her followers noted that a few of her distinctive moles looked like they had been airbrushed out.

“They didn’t and actually that was discussed,” Busy replied to a concerned fan. “The light was super bright which is why they look less dark, but they did NOT airbrush off my moles. Promise you. I can show you the pics from the monitor at the shoot — it’s truly just the bright light making them a little lighter.”

This isn’t the first time Busy has spoken about her moles, which are dotted over her face, neck and chest. In 2017, she revealed that while once working on a TV show, network bosses ordered for them all to be covered.

“Do you know that 1. That’s literally almost impossible? 2. Moles covered with make-up look WAY weirder than when they’re natural? 3. It’s super insulting cause it’s basically like saying, “we ALMOST think you’re pretty, if you just got rid of this major part of what you look like”??” the 38-year-old wrote on Instagram.

“So anyway, the make-up artist tried for like 3 days and then was like f**k it! And I guess it was fine.”

Sarah Paulson, Tracee Ellis Ross and Amber Heard are among the big-name stars stylist Karla Welch has tapped to front her new collection for Levi’s.

Karla, who is regularly ranked among the world’s most powerful stylists, has called on her celebrity clientele and friends to help launch the Levi’s x karla 501 Day collection.

The line will be available on 20 May (18), the 145th anniversary of Levi’s receiving its rivet-pocket patent, resulting in the birth of the original blue jeans.

For the black and white campaign video, Yoko Ono donated her song Yang Yang in support of gun control organisation Everytown for Gun Safety. Other stars to feature in the clip and portrait series include Busy Philipps, SZA, Yara Shahidi, Hailey Baldwin, Amber Valletta, Michelle Monaghan and America Ferrera.

Talking about the collection, Karla explained that she added her own twist to some classic Levi’s pieces.

“It’s all very customisation focused,” she said in a statement. “They’re original designs based on the parameters of utilising a 501 or an existing Levi’s pattern.

“I wanted to imagine what the future of vintage was. If people inhabit Mars 200 years from now, what are the kids going to wear? This idea of creating something that would eventually become an iconic piece of vintage clothing is the basis of the whole collection.”

The collection, which is made up of jeans, jackets and shirts, marks the second time Karla has collaborated with a major brand. Last year, she teamed with Hanes on a line of white T-shirts.

Amy Schumer made designer Brandon Maxwell so nervous he couldn’t speak.

Brandon designed the vibrant red and pink gown Amy wore to the Los Angeles premiere of her new movie, I Feel Pretty on Thursday night (19Apr18).

Taking to Instagram to show off his creation, which featured a plunging neckline and thigh-high slit, Lady Gaga’s fashion director Brandon revealed to his followers he was blown away working with the actress.

“Every once in a while a fitting comes along where I get so nervous that I’m saying words in my mind but they don’t come out of my mouth, you know? Such was the case with @amyschumer,” he captioned three images of the blonde actress.

“I have loved her from afar for so long. On bad days at work when I need a laugh I just close my office door, open up my lunch, and watch re runs of Youtube videos of her that I’ve seen a thousand times. So, in my mind she was already my lunchtime best friend, the one you sit with in the cafeteria that makes you feel loved and seen and good about yourself when you need it the most.”

Luckily, Amy lived up to Brandon’s hype, and he told his followers she fully embodied all his expectations, with the designer leaving the fitting “really loving” his job.

I Feel Pretty, which co-stars Michelle Williams, Busy Philipps and Emily Ratajkowski, tells the story of Amy’s character Renee, a woman who struggles with self-esteem issues until she wakes from a fall believing she’s the most beautiful and capable woman on the planet.

“The movie opens this weekend and I hope it makes you feel every bit as good as she and @leesaevansstyle made me and my team feel,” he concluded, tagging Amy’s stylist Leesa Evans in the post.

Actress Busy Philipps has teamed up with Three Olives Rose Vodka in a bid to add “something refreshing” to summer cocktails.

The star’s new liquor collaboration stems from her real-life love of sipping spirits in the hot sun.

“I love the flavour of rose, but I can’t commit to the calories of drinking rose wine, and this (Three Olives Rose Vodka) is such a nice alternative for me,” she explains to InStyle. “I think it’s really refreshing and light and it’s cold. You want to drink something cold in the summer, you know? You don’t want to have a red wine, you want something refreshing.”

Busy adds of her alcoholic preferences, “I prefer mixed cocktails. That’s generally what I always go to, always have. I have a tendency to get a little bit of a headache if I drink too much wine, but I like a glass of red wine with a steak. I like eating a lot, and I like my drinks to complement my food.”

And when Busy, who is currently promoting her new comedy I Feel Pretty with comedienne Amy Schumer, is on holiday during the hottest season of the year, she prefers to go all out with exotic mixed cocktails.

“When we were in Hawaii, I was drinking a lot of Mai Tais,” she shares. “A Mai Tai is not something I would ever order (at home) in Los Angeles, but, like, you’re eating fish with fruit for dinner, you want a Mai Tai. And the rose vodka, you’re sitting at your pool, it’s summer, it’s perfect.”

Alcoholic beverages aren’t her only release – Busy also loves to work-out to lift her spirits.

“Exercise has been the one thing where, when I’m feeling bad about myself as a mum, as a person, as a whatever, and I can go and get the endorphins and sweat, I feel so much better afterwards,” she smiles “It’s crazy that it took me legitimately 36 years to figure it out. But it has changed my life.”

Jessica Alba was one of hundreds of people to offer Busy Philipps skincare advice when the actress asked for help on Instagram.

The former Cougar Town actress took to social media to ask her followers if anyone could recommend an eye make-up remover that wouldn’t irritate her sensitive eyes.

“Hey. Does anyone with sensitive eyes have an eye makeup remover that they love? I need one desperately (CLEARLY). Maybe I should just use coconut or olive oil? Does that work?? Thoughts, questions, feelings welcome! THANKS IN ADVANCE!” she captioned a selfie of her red-rimmed eyes.

Lots of her followers offered up suggestions, with many singing the praises of natural coconut oil, as well as gentle micellar water and products from Bobbi Brown, Neutrogena and MAC.

But Jessica, who founded ethical consumer brand The Honest Company, had another, more unusual, idea.

“Clean makeup products and makeup removers. When I’m flared up, I just use calendula ointment or Honest All Purpose Balm and our shampoo,” she wrote.

The Honest Company products are all free from sulfates and parabens, which means they shouldn’t have a negative impact on sensitive skin.

Busy managed to calm her red eye area later that day, and looked glamorous as she attended the Three Olives Rose Vodka party.

The blonde actress’ eyes recently made headlines when she revealed last month that she’d been hospitalised after accidentally burning her peepers.

“I’M FINE! This is just my vibe, guys!” she wrote in the captioned a snap of herself clutching her forehead with her eyes tightly closed. “Spent last night at Cedars (Sinai Medical Center) after I couldn’t sleep because it felt like there were shards of glass in both my eyes. I have Photo Keratitis from bright lights/sun exposure! WHO EVEN KNEW THAT WAS A THING?”

Photokeratitis is a painful eye condition caused by exposure of ultraviolet rays to insufficiently protected eyes.
