Normani and Camila Mendes have been unveiled as Urban Decay’s newest Global Citizens.

The 24-year-old music star and 25-year-old Riverdale actress, along with singer G.E.M, partnered with the cosmetics brand for its Pretty Different campaign, which celebrates the three women for their individuality and activism.

The trio will also feature in the ads for Urban Decay’s newest release in its Naked series, the Ultraviolet Eyeshadow Palette.

And Normani explained that she plans on using her platform as a Global Citizens to further Black representation in the beauty industry.

“I want to amplify Black stories to help dismantle systemic racism,” she told Elle magazine. “I wholeheartedly believe that through this collaboration, I have a real opportunity and obligation to the Black community not only to lift my voice but all of theirs through this mission and journey to have more representation and justice inside and out of the beauty industry.”

The Motivation hitmaker later took to Instagram to share her joy at being picked by the beauty brand, revealing she wants to make the most of her new role.

“They have trail-blazed and challenged the industry’s definition of beauty since the beginning. They stand with marginalized groups by showing that makeup should be and can be inclusive for everyone,” Normani wrote. “We need to celebrate beauty in every color. We need representation across the beauty industry and I hope to use my platform to amplify the voices of my community.”

Camila also discussed her love for the brand, and told her followers and fans on Instagram that she has had a lifelong admiration for Urban Decay.

“Growing up, I always admired them as a brand that championed diversity and celebrated individuality, and I feel that stronger now than ever,” the actress shared. “It’s important to support brands that actively do the work to be inclusive. Beauty comes in all shapes and colors, and it’s imperative that we see that reflected in the beauty industry.”

Riverdale star Camila Mendes was thrilled to be able to take on a more mature role in Dangerous Lies.

In the Netflix thriller, the actress stars as Katie, who is drawn into a web of deception and murder when the elderly man she cares for dies and unexpectedly leaves his estate to her.

The part marks a big departure for Camila, who is known for playing rich high school student Veronica Lodge in Riverdale, and she was thrilled to have the opportunity to portray a different character.

“It was really nice to know that I could be seen that way, to play a more mature role. Obviously, I love playing high school, too. It’s not like I’m opposed to either. It felt nice to graduate to an older character,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.

Camila also liked getting to play a character who is struggling financially as she has been playing the wealthy Veronica since 2017.

“I really enjoyed that change of pace of playing a character that wasn’t born with money,” the 25-year-old continued. “I think it’s nice because not only does it make the character more relatable to the audience, but I also think it’s sometimes a more interesting story to have a character who is really working toward something. Not to say that Veronica isn’t. She definitely is very ambitious. But I always personally gravitate toward characters that are kind of figuring it out.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Camila revealed the film’s shootout sequence was her most memorable day on set because it was so time-consuming and emotionally difficult.

“It took an entire day to film. We had to shoot from every angle,” she explained. “I had to stay in that state of hysteria for an uncomfortably long time.”

Dangerous Lies is now streaming on Netflix.

Lili Reinhart is “intimidated” when she compares her body to that of her Riverdale castmates.

The actress, who stars alongside Camila Mendes, KJ Apa, and her real-life boyfriend Cole Sprouse in the TV show, made the confession as she responded to a fan who asked why everyone on the teen drama has “perfectly chiselled bodies”, with the viewer continuing: “Don’t you think TV shows like this aimed at teenagers are contributing to unrealistic body expectations body image issues?”

Lili replied by stating that she doesn’t have a perfect body and sometimes feels insecure when she has to act in her underwear.

“Actually, not everyone on this show is perfectly chiselled. And even I feel intimidated by the physique of my surrounding castmates sometimes when I have to do bra/underwear scenes,” she tweeted. “I’ve felt very insecure due to the expectation that people have for women on TV, what they should look like.

“But I have come to terms with my body and that I’m not the kind of person you would see walking on a runway during fashion week. I have bigger boobs, I have cellulite on my thighs/butt, and my stomach sticks out rather than curves in.”

The Hustlers star went on to admit that she struggles with her imperfections every day and is insecure about the weight she has gained in the last two months due to her battle with depression.

However, she was determined to “be strong and show confidence in myself, looking as I do” when she had to film a recent underwear scene because feels obligated to set an example for others.

“I want other young women to see my body on TV and feel comfort in the fact that I’m not a size 0. And I’m not a perfect hourglass shape,” the 23-year-old wrote. “This industry struggles with accurate representation of female and male bodies.”

Andy Samberg increased price of Palm Springs film by 69 cents as a joke

Andy Samberg and his producer asked studio executives to up the offer for their movie Palm Springs by 69 cents because they thought it would be funny.

Following its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this month, the comedy, which stars Samberg and Cristin Milioti, was bought by bosses at Neon and Hulu for a record-breaking $17,500,000.69 (£13.4 million), making it the biggest sale ever at Sundance, overtaking 2016’s The Birth of a Nation by just 69 cents.

But during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Samberg, who also served as a producer, revealed that the offer originally matched that of The Birth of a Nation so he and his fellow producer and The Lonely Island collaborator, Akiva Schaffer, decided to negotiate for 69 cents more because they thought it would be funny to pick a number associated with a sexual position.

“When you get offers on a movie, you stay up until five in the morning negotiating and stuff,” Samberg explained of the process. “It was Neon and Hulu who are the ones that ended up buying it, and they came in with an offer that was very high. It was an amount that would match the highest sale ever at Sundance.

“I was like, ‘Well, we should maybe ask to throw on a dollar more and then make it the highest sale ever’. And Akiva was like, ‘No, no, no. We should ask for 69 cents more. I was like, ‘Yes, that’s right’… Life is a joke.”

Palm Springs follows misfit Nyles, played by Samberg, who teams up with Milioti’s reluctant maid of honour Sarah, at a wedding. It was directed by Max Barbakow from a script by Andy Siara and also stars Camila Mendes, J.K. Simmons, and Tyler Hoechlin.

Neon will distribute the existential comedy, while Hulu will eventually add the film to its popular streaming service. Release dates have not yet been announced.

Pregnant Ashley Graham has dressed up as a “knocked up” Jessica Rabbit for a Halloween party.

The model announced in August that she is expecting her first child with her husband Justin Ervin, and over the past two months, has regularly shared pregnancy updates with her social media followers.

Over the weekend, Ashley got into the Halloween spirit too, stepping out for a bash in Los Angeles wearing a costume inspired by the sexy animated character from 1988 film Who Framed Roger Rabbit, while Justin chose to dress as late wrestler Randy Savage, also known as Macho Man.

“Macho Man knocked up Jessica Rabbit for Halloween,” she captioned a series of snaps on her Instagram page.

Ashley’s post quickly racked up more than 600,000 likes, with many of her celebrity pals commenting on her skintight red latex dress, purple gloves, and red wig.

“You are so gorgeous,” posted singer Bebe Rexha, with actress Camila Mendes writing, “Looove (sic).”

Fashion journalist Derek Blasberg stated, “JESSICA RABBIT HAVING BUNNIES!” while personal trainer Kira Stokes joked: “Just cut the bottom off your dress and throw Justin’s leggings on and you’re ready for our workout tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, some of Ashley’s other followers asked her how she managed to get into the tight dress considering her growing baby belly, to which the 31-year-old replied, “BABY POWDER.”

And another fan suggested she should have dressed as wrestler Miss Elizabeth for the event, to which she explained: “Couldn’t fit into a corset LOL (laugh out loud) but there’s always next year.”

Camila Mendes has been named as the face of Secret Deodorant’s new collection.

The actress, perhaps best known for playing Veronica Lodge on Riverdale, has previously appeared in campaigns for fashion brand Bongo and hair product company John Freida.

Now, Camila is starring in the marketing imagery for Secret Deodorant’s latest antiperspirant product, which features essential oils.

“I’m so excited to be working with Secret to launch their new Secret with Essential Oils collection,” the 25-year-old said. “I love how sophisticated the fragrances are – especially for a deodorant! The scents remind me of a luxury perfume more than a typical antiperspirant.”

For the launch, Secret with Essential Oils will have four fresh fragrances, including coconut oil and mandarin, lavender and eucalyptus, rose and charcoal, as well as cedarwood and citrus. The formulas are free of parabens and dyes, with the oils derived from the roots, stems and flowers of plants that are extracted through cold pressing and steam distillation.

And Secret’s associate brand director, Sara Saunders, is thrilled to be working with Camila.

“With the launch of Secret with Essential Oils – a true game-changer in its unique blend of strength and beauty – it was critical for us to find a partner who was just as multi-faceted,” she shared. “Camila is as fierce as she is feminine, epitomising what it means to be ‘all strength, no sweat.’ This duality is something we believe many women can relate to, and it’s something they’ll find in Secret with Essential Oils.”

Secret with Essential Oils is currently available to purchase at Target stores, with a broader rollout to take place in 2020.

Mandy Moore came close to quitting acting after she failed to land parts in two major films.

The singer/actress recently appeared alongside Riverdale star Camila Mendes at PopSugar’s Play/Ground event in New York City’s Pier 94, and during the panel, recalled bad auditions for 2008’s musical Mamma Mia! and 2011 romantic comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love.

While the experiences caused Mandy to consider ditching Hollywood altogether, she is pleased she persevered, as she would have otherwise missed out on getting her big TV break on U.S. drama series, This Is Us.

“I think at the end of the day when I did dig deep, I was like this (acting) is all, there was no plan B for me personally, this is just that period of building,” she stated. “It’s that period where I know I’m going to need this as fodder and fuel for… when I see the light again.”

Mandy then told the audience that since marrying husband Taylor Goldsmith in November, she has had a “monumental shift” in her life that has led to her finally being comfortable with herself.

“I am becoming a force by my own definition,” the 35-year-old confessed. “The last year specifically has been a really monumental shift…There is no substitute for time and the wisdom and clarity that come with it.”

Elsewhere in the chat, Mandy discussed how she now tries to surround herself with positive people, including supportive mentors, friends, and family, and insisted that she’s redefining kindness as her strength, as it once was her weakness.

“People will say, ‘Nice people can’t finish first.’ I think they can, and they do. I’m OK being that woman. That’s who I am, and that’s who I am always going to be,” she smiled.

Camila Mendes has jokingly used an actual pancake to blend her make-up.

The actress, best known for playing Veronica Lodge on Riverdale, is currently shooting episodes for the hit TV show, with the third season having premiered in October (18).

Camila recently took the idea of “pancake make-up” to a whole new level during a recent day of shooting in Pop’s Diner on the programme’s set, with her co-star Cole Sprouse, who portrays Jughead Jones, capturing her playfully picking up a piece of pancake to blend her foundation.

In the footage, which Cole uploaded to his Instagram Stories, the brunette beauty – dressed in full costume – can be seen casually dabbing the pancake on her cheeks, chin and underneath her eyes.

At the end of the clip, Camila is depicted reaching for a piece of bacon from the plate in front of her, causing fans to question if she was planning to use other foods in unconventional ways too.

Camila is yet to share the video on her own social media pages. However, the star is no stranger to exploring various beauty hacks, and she wore Eos’ Dazzling Ruby Lip & Cheek Tint, a deep red balm, as a blush when she attended the 2018 E! People’s Choice Awards earlier this month.

And while the actress is known for her signature eyebrows, she previously shared in an interview with People.com that she mostly invests in quality skincare products and also loves to indulge in a luxury facial when she has a gap in her schedule.

“I get them every once in a while, especially when I’m working. When I’m filming a lot, I try to get them once every two weeks because I wear so much make-up on set and it’s just getting caked on,” the 24-year-old said of facials, adding that her favourite treatment to undergo is microdermabrasion. “I do it to just kind of exfoliate and then I can see all the makeup that’s been stuck into my pores. So that helps a lot!”

Madelaine Petsch allowed Lili Reinhart to squeeze her blackheads when they lived together.

The actresses play Cheryl Blossom and Betty Cooper, respectively, on U.S. TV show Riverdale, which will premiere its third series on Wednesday (10Oct18). Though the pair shares a turbulent friendship on screen, they are the best of pals away from the cameras and Madelaine has no shame in asking Lili to help her with her pimple problems.

“When we lived together, I used to lay in her lap at night and she would go to town on my blackheads,” the 24-year-old shared in an interview with People, adding that Lily taught her all she needs to know about a minimalist skincare regime.

“Lili was actually the person who got me on a good skincare game and taught me about the steps you’re supposed to take,” she continued. “She helped me narrow down my routine, which is so funny because she is such a product junkie too.”

With a glowing complexion, it’s no wonder that Madelaine was tapped as a Biore brand ambassador in January. And though she works hard to maintain her flawless skin, the television star can’t help but be jealous of her other Riverdale co-star Camila Mendes, who plays Veronica Lodge.

“Cami is one of those people who can not wash her face before she goes to bed and still have perfect skin. So she is a different breed of human,” she laughed.

And while Madelaine is happy to share skincare tips – she is a fan of Biore’s Micellar Water and Baking Soda Cleansing Foam – she refuses to divulge the lipstick she uses to get her Riverdale character’s signature red pout.

“I’ve never told anybody what it is, and I’m going to stick to that!” she teased.

Prabal Gurung has unveiled his debut menswear creations during his latest fashion show.

The Nepalese-American designer presented his spring/summer 2019 range as part of New York Fashion Week on Sunday night (09Sep18), with Tiffany Haddish, Kelly Rowland, Camila Mendes, Gemma Chan and Awkwafina among the celebrity guests sitting on the front row.

Regarding his first foray into menswear, Gurung explained that he was determined for the garments to be unisex and fit seamlessly within his existing line-up.

“I’ve always wanted a menswear collection to be a part of our world and our offerings,” he posted on Instagram alongside a poem by writer Cleo Wade. “I constantly borrow clothes from our womenswear collections, and growing up I’d often experiment with mixing menswear and womenswear to tell the story that I felt visually represented who I was. Now more than ever, traditional genders, roles and identifiers are breaking down in our multifaceted world.”

The first male model to walk the runway sported fluorescent yellow trousers and a red vest, while others donned pale pink suits over green vests, colour-blocked parkas, striped knitwear, long white sleeveless shirts and embroidered trousers.

On a whole, the “cross-cultural” collection was inspired by Gurung’s recent travels through the indigenous villages of Nepal and urban streets of Tokyo, London, Mumbai, Paris, Shanghai, Abu Dhabi and New York.

Joan Smalls opened the show in a bright yellow knitted bodysuit matched with a sheer green chiffon skirt with red satin trim, Gigi Hadid wore a cropped white top with tiered skirt made of red, white and blue fabric, while Winnie Harlow rocked the runway in a bright pink ribbed bodysuit under a skirt with drawstring belt.

For many garments, Gurung juxtaposed sportswear fabrics such as nylon with more luxurious materials such as a heavily embellished sari-like material and Nepalese-style floral patterns and weaving.

The show concluded with a blue silk dress with peplum and strapless gown made from striped jewel-tone fabric and layers of fringing.

New York Fashion Week continues on Monday with shows from Carolina Herrera and Proenza Schouler.
