Carolyn Murphy can’t quite believe she’s still walking in fashion shows after three decades in the industry.

The Florida-born model rose to fame in the late 1990s, when she was selected as one of the ‘Modern Muses’ for the November 1999 cover of U.S. Vogue and fronted the campaign for Calvin Klein’s perfume Contradiction.

Carolyn has remained in-demand ever since, and in a new interview for Porter magazine, admitted being cast in shows for the likes of Fendi, Off-White, and Isabel Marant during the fall/winter 2020 season earlier this year had been surprising to her.

“I hadn’t planned on doing shows. I’m 46, I thought I had retired from that!” she commented. “There was this sense of ‘What have I got to lose?’ It was all about having fun. I think the beauty of the industry, and the world, right now is the inclusivity. I think many years ago they wouldn’t have accepted a 46-year-old on the runway, and now it’s open to all age ranges, which is so nice.”

Carolyn went on to explain that she accepted an invitation from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen to close one of their shows for The Row because they have been friends for such a long time.

“There’s such a sisterhood with the two of them. I really admire their intellect and design sense,” the blonde beauty gushed of the design duo.

Meanwhile, Carolyn also opened up about parenthood in a chat with new mum Ashley Graham as part of an Instagram Live series for Tiffany & Co. Sharing her best advice, the mother-of-one encouraged her pal to try and be present as much as possible.

“It goes down to the fact that (you should) cherish every single moment. We get so distracted with our careers and just stuff going on in life that even for a new mom, with all of those sleepless nights and feedings and diaper changes, just to cherish it,” she smiled.

Ashley Graham has taken to social media to share the first photo of her baby son.

Last month, the model announced that she had given birth on 18 January in a post on her Instagram Stories, but didn’t divulge any further details.

However, Ashley offered her fans an update on Tuesday by posting two black-and-white snaps on Instagram – with each one showing the baby’s hand holding his parents’ fingers.

“At 6:00PM on 01/18/2020, we welcomed 7lbs 5oz of love into our world,” she wrote in the caption. “Meeting our son has made our hearts incredibly full.”

Ashley added that she and her husband Justin Ervin were looking forward to introducing the tot during an episode of her Pretty Big Deal podcast in the near future.

Accordingly, the 32-year-old’s sweet message quickly garnered lots of attention from her celebrity friends.

“Welcome to the world, little one!” wrote Reese Witherspoon, while Helena Christensen gushed, “So much love to you and Justin and the little baba.”

Karlie Kloss posted, “Congratulations!!!! CANNOT WAIT TO MEET HIM !!!” alongside a string of heart emojis, and Christy Turlington added: “Capricorn. YES. Congratulations, Mama!”

Amber Valletta, Hannah Ferguson, Carolyn Murphy, Taylor Hill, Lily Aldridge, and Lais Ribeiro also shared their best wishes to the couple, though writer Erin Foster took the opportunity to praise Ashley’s manicure.

“Congrats! Also, your fingernail is beautiful. Great nail beds,” she wrote.

Ashley and Justin wed in 2010. The brunette beauty announced her pregnancy in August.

Hilary Rhoda is to become a first-time mother.

The model, who is perhaps best known for her work with Estee Lauder and appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, took to Instagram on Thursday to announce that she and her sportsman husband Sean Avery are expecting a son.

“It’s a boy,” she wrote alongside a snap of herself cradling her growing baby bump while sitting on a sofa. “@imseanavery and I are having a baby and we’re so excited about this next chapter of life together.”

Accordingly, a number of Hilary’s celebrity pals were quick to send her congratulatory messages, including the likes of Martha Hunt, Brooklyn Decker, Nicky Hilton, Georgia Fowler, and Nina Agdal.

“Congratulations to you guys!!!!! What an amazing news (sic),” Natasha Poly wrote, while Carolyn Murphy added: “Yay mama and papa.”

However, when announcing the news on her Instagram Stories, Hilary added that falling pregnant hadn’t been easy.

“We’re having a baby! The last year has been quite a journey getting to this point, lots of ups & downs… but for those trying to conceive, all I can say is just keep going,” the 32-year-old wrote, along with a red heart emoji. “Trying to conceive is a mindf**k and might have almost ended our marriage once or twice.”

Meanwhile, Sean opened up about his journey with Hilary on his podcast No F**ks Given, revealing she had suffered two miscarriages before they conceived their baby boy.

“The moment we took the noise, science and methods out of it – that’s how you make a baby in tough times,” he said, explaining that it was when he returned home from a five-week trip that the conception happened.

Hilary and former National Hockey League player Sean, 39, married in October 2015.

Zoe Kravitz has taken to social media to show off a brand-new hairstyle.

The Big Little Lies actress often switches up her hairstyles, experimenting with everything from short crops to platinum blonde tresses. Lately, Zoe has been rocking long brunette braids, but on Tuesday, she uploaded a photo on Instagram showing her posing with her fresh pixie cut.

“Hair,” she captioned the snap, adding the scissors emoji.

Zoe didn’t add any further details, though it is likely her transformation is for her upcoming role as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in Matt Reeves’s The Batman, also featuring Robert Pattinson, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, and Andy Serkis. Production is expected to begin shortly, with the film slated for release in June 2021.

Zoe’s post quickly caught the attention of her celebrity followers, with Charlize Theron writing, “So, so pretty,” Abbie Cornish noting, “Looks so good,” and Emily Ratajkowski simply adding, “Yes” with a heart eye emoji.

Models Carolyn Murphy and Naomi Campbell posted emojis too, as did Zoe’s stepfather, actor Jason Momoa.

The 30-year-old tagged her go-to hairstylist Nikki Nelms in her Instagram photo, with the hair guru writing “Baby boo” in the comments section.

Previously, Nikki shared in an interview with Refinery29 that her celebrity client is pretty much fearless when it comes to trying out new looks.

“It also helps that she’s super open to change and not that attached to anything,” she stated. “She’s open to length or cutting it, open to darkening or bleaching. When you’re open, you can experience more. Once you figure out what you love about your hair, you can do the same thing. And it doesn’t hurt to be as beautiful as Zoe is, either.”

Dior executives are releasing a two-volume book to celebrate their long-running relationship with late photographer Peter Lindbergh.

The German photographer and film director passed away in September at the age of 74. Models and fashion stars took to social media to mourn him and many turned out for his funeral in the French capital during Paris Fashion Week, with notable guests including Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, and Karen Elson.

Now executives at the French fashion house are honouring their relationship with Lindbergh, who shot Dior campaigns featuring the likes of Marion Cotillard and Charlize Theron, by releasing a two-volume book simply titled Dior/Lindbergh.

According to WWD, volume one will contain images from his final project with Dior – a previously unseen photoshoot which took place in New York’s Times Square in October 2018 and featured the likes of Elson, Irina Shayk, Alek Wek, Saskia de Brauw, Carolyn Murphy, Amber Valletta, and Sasha Pivovarova. In the images, mostly captured in his signature black-and-white style, the models wear more than 80 vintage Dior creations from the archives against the NYC backdrop.

“Decisive moments capturing haute couture and a frenetic urban landscape pay homage to the street photography movement for which New York frequently served as a backdrop,” Dior said in a statement to the publication.

The second volume will feature more than 100 images of Dior looks photographed by Lindbergh for fashion publications.

Dior/Lindbergh, published by Taschen, will be released on 6 November in France and the rest of Europe.

Carolyn Murphy has taken aim at the “layers” of abuse which occur within the fashion industry.

The Florida-born model rose to fame in the late 1990s, when she was selected as one of the ‘Modern Muses’ for the November 1999 cover of U.S. Vogue and fronted the campaign for Calvin Klein’s perfume Contradiction.

Recently, Murphy has become a vocal advocate of the #MeToo movement – having once been the target of inappropriate behaviour by a photographer – and has spoken about the darker side of the industry in a chat with Harper’s Bazaar Australia.

“The whole mental experience of it can be really unhealthy,” she said of modelling, before going on to emphasise that it isn’t just about photographers targeting models. “You have people in the industry who abuse their power from all sides. It’s not just males trying to coerce young women into bed; there are so many other layers of abuse. Even female editors are making girls feel terrible about themselves, there are agents who judge you … The #MeToo movement has opened our eyes to an unfortunate part of the industry that needed to be exposed, but there’s a lot more there.”

Elsewhere in the cover interview for the September 2019 issue, Murphy discussed her longevity in the fashion business and comparisons to her idol, supermodel Christy Turlington.

She also spoke about being a single mother to her 18-year-old daughter Dylan and what it is like to be an independent woman in 2019.

“It’s never a bad thing, but not always a great thing,” the 44-year-old mused.

Carine Roitfeld, Celine Dion, Kate Moss, Alicia Keys and actress Margaret Qualley also appear in the latest issue of the magazine.

Paulina Porizkova has been praised for getting candid about her ageing neck in an Instagram post.

The 54-year-old model shared a black-and-white shot of her from a photoshoot for the Czech edition of Elle magazine, and told her followers that she used to hate the picture.

“Let’s talk about necks. Older necks, specifically. How many of us hate our necks? I hated mine until I saw this photo, published last year in Czech Elle. And here, I sort of love it,” Porizkova wrote in the caption.

“The ropey parts, sharply defined and angular, suit me I think. I like the decisiveness of my neck. I look to be on my way somewhere, looking forward to it, being on my way. Like two sails in the wind. And no one can stop me. My neck leads the way.”

She concluded the thoughtful post by adding the hashtags “#idonthatemyneck #sexyhasnoagelimit #movingon”.

Porizkova’s post has been praised by her 73,500 followers and her famous friends, including actress Carla Gugino, who simply commented: “Gorgeous!”

TV personality and make-up artist Jay Manuel was next, who told the supermodel she was “always stunning… inside and out!”, while fellow model Carolyn Murphy, 44, also commented, writing: “You are beautiful.”

The Czech-born beauty is currently opening up about ageing in a series of posts on social media, and recently shared her feelings on the pressure on women to look young.

“Being a woman today – and throughout thousands of years – has taught us that societal expectations of women are, primarily, to be pretty… Until our society smartens up and changes, we, women, will feel undervalued if we are not pretty or young,” Porizkova wrote.

Irina Shayk and Adriana Lima have been tapped to star on the cover of Vogue Spain.

The two models were shot by famed photographers Luigi Murenu and Iango Henzi for the August 2019 issue of the fashion publication, with the image showing them both gazing directly at the camera while sporting matching black outfits and slicks of red lipstick.

Russian star Irina uploaded a copy of the cover image to her Instagram page, and gushed over the photoshoot with her pal.

“When women come together and empower each other… magic happens. Sisterhood and synergy on the cover of @voguespain with my sister @adrianalima. Thank u to my amazing friends @luigiandiango for capturing and empowering us that day (sic),” the 33-year-old captioned the snap.

Gisele Bundchen and Carolyn Murphy have called for people to embrace sustainable practices as part of Earth Day.

The supermodels both took to Instagram on Monday (22Apr19) to upload posts about the annual event, which has been organised to demonstrate support for environmental protection.

In her post, Gisele, 38, shared a quote from a friend who compared the “pillaging and ravaging” of Planet Earth to an ill person.

“If someone is sick, you don’t keep doing things that make them sicker, you help them heal!” the Brazilian model and environmental campaigner wrote. “Many people take the soil, the food, the water, the air, and all the gifts that she provides us for granted. Many more believe we are entitled to just take and take from her without a thought of nourishing her back. We’re not!”

Gisele concluded her post by noting that there are now “clear signs” that humans must change their ways in order for the planet to thrive, and reminded her 15 million followers that Earth is “our only home”.

Meanwhile, American star Carolyn insisted that she is not a “do-gooder” but has found some practical solutions for supporting sustainability in her own life.

“Please, do what you can… eat a plant-based diet, buy vintage or sustainably made furniture and clothes, carry your own water bottle, carry your own shopping bags, use biodegradable sandwich bags or glass storage containers, use your own produce bags and buy dry goods in bulk, plant a veggie garden, buy local and organic, plant more trees, compost and recycle, remember quality versus quantity, (and) stay informed and get involved,” the 44-year-old commented.
