Cindy Bruna has been named as the new international spokesperson for L’Oreal Paris.

The French model, who is of Italian and Congolese descent, was discovered at the age of 16 and has since gone on to star in campaigns for the likes of Prada, Burberry, and Chanel.

Now, Cindy is about to make waves in the beauty world, having landed her first major gig for a cosmetics company.

“Today, I’m very happy to announce some great news that is happening in my life. It has been one of the biggest dreams I’ve had since I started my modelling career and I’m very humbled to announce that I just signed with L’Oreal Paris,” she said in a video posted on Instagram. “I grew up watching the commercials on TV, I grew up admiring these women and it’s such an honour for me to join this big family. As a French girl being the new face of such an iconic brand from my home country is everything.”

Cindy joins a roster of diverse spokespeople, including Viola Davis, Celine Dion, Helen Mirren, Eva Longoria, Elle Fanning, Aja Naomi King, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Camila Cabello, among others.

And the brunette beauty insisted that she has always appreciated L’Oreal Paris’ famous “Because I’m worth it” tagline.

“It means so much to me. It’s this deep sense of self-esteem that makes us beautiful. It is embracing who you are and the diversity around you because we are all worth it. Especially in this tough time we are going through right now. Let’s not forget that even in the darkest moment we can see beauty,” the 25-year-old added.

Celine Dion’s mother has died at the age of 92.

Therese Dion, a mother of 14, passed away in her native Canada in the early hours of Friday, when she was surrounded by family and friends, according to the local CTV News.

Her passing emerges months after her eldest child, Claudette Dion, revealed she had been battling a series of significant health issues, including memory loss, and hearing and vision impairment.

Her husband, Adhemar, died in 2003.

Known affectionately in Canada as Maman Dion, Therese famously co-wrote Celine’s first song, It Was Only a Dream, which was sent to music manager Rene Angelil in 1980 in the hopes of landing her then-12-year-old daughter a record deal.

Celine went on to become Rene’s superstar protegee, while they also fell in love and wed in 1994.

Therese later became a TV personality and hosted her own cooking show, while she was also known for her philanthropy, and founded the Maman Dion Foundation in 2006 to aid disadvantaged children.

Her passing comes at a tough time for the Dion family – Tuesday marked the fourth anniversary of Rene’s death, while Celine’s brother, Daniel, died four years ago on Thursday.

The My Heart Will Go On hitmaker, who is currently on tour, took to Instagram on Friday to mourn the loss of her mother as she prepared to take the stage in Miami, Florida.

Alongside an old black-and-white photo of her whole family, Celine wrote, “Maman, we love you so much…

“We dedicate tonight’s show to you and I’ll sing to you with all my heart. Love, Celine xx…”

The singer, 51, had previously shared her love for her mum in a special tribute for Mother’s Day last year (19), posting online, “Now more than ever, I realize the importance of a mother’s role. Not only did you give me life, but you also wrote my destiny. I love you Mom.”

Celine Dion has recreated the music video for her 1996 hit It’s All Coming Back to Me Now for an Instagram Shopping advert.

The 51-year-old showcases a number of high-fashion looks in the clip, including pieces from Khloe Kardashian’s brand Good American, boots from Bershka, and multiple items by Michael Kors – including a stunning pair of zebra print heels.

The I’m Alive hitmaker also goes on to show off her svelte physique in a set of Adam Selman Sport workout gear, blurring the lines between couture and sport with a set of sparkling floral earrings by Oscar de la Renta and a pair of Adidas sneakers.

Each time a new fashion item is shown in the advert, a shopping tag appears naming the designers, with other brands including Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, and Bebe.

“Honey, over the top music videos never went out of style. Had so much fun working with my friends at @Instagram to bring ’90s style back for the holidays. Shop with your (heart) on Instagram. – Celine xx… #InstagramPartner,” she wrote in the caption to the commercial.

In the original clip for the tune, penned by music composer and producer Jim Steinman, Celine is seen running through the halls of her home as she’s haunted by the memory of a beau who has died in a motorcycle crash.

The new ad promotes Instagram Shopping and its checkout feature, which launched earlier this year. It was styled by Mel Ottenberg, who is known for his work with Rihanna, and directed by Matt Lambert.

The latest promo comes after the singer topped charts worldwide with her latest album, Courage – marking her full-length return to music following the death of her husband and manager Rene Angelil from throat cancer in 2016.

Celine Dion has responded to body shamers by insisting she’s “always been very thin”.

The My Heart Will Go On singer has always had a slim frame but recently faced criticism over her noticeably thinner appearance. Now, Celine has responded to the critics by insisting she’s healthy and has always looked that way.

“Is there anything wrong about my body,” she told Entertainment Tonight as she flexed a bicep. “I do ballet. I do a lot of stretching and I work out because it helps my mind, body, and soul… When you go back, when I was 12 years old, my face was rounder because you have more fat when you’re younger…But I’ve always been very thin.”

However, after being in the industry since she was a teenager, the 51-year-old has developed a thick skin and doesn’t let the comments get to her.

“If you don’t want to be criticised, you are in the wrong place,” Celine explained. “I take the positive. I take what’s good for me. I leave behind what is not good for me. I let my management take care of that, and if it hurts anyone, they will take care of that. And I need to focus on what’s right for me, how I feel and, last but not least, you can’t please everybody.”

Since the death of her husband and longtime manager Rene Angelil in 2016, the Canadian superstar has really thrown herself into the fashion world and has been experimenting with bold and fabulous styles.

But in a recent interview with CR Fashion Book, Celine, who has been dubbed the “new queen of fashion”, admitted she still likes to lounge around in comfortable clothes.

“A lot of times, I will wear my PJs all day. I’m with my kids, and it will be breakfast all day,” she shared. “I would just rest and be in my pyjamas.”

Celine Dion has pleaded with Drake not to get a tattoo of her face.

The God’s Plan star has long been a massive fan of the superstar, and was overcome with emotion when he finally met her at the Billboard Music Awards in 2017.

At the time, onlookers reported that Drake told his fellow Canadian he was “like a year away from a Celine tat,” while patting his ribs.

But in a new interview with iHeartRadio Canada, Celine urged Drake not to go through with his plan – instead offering him some fun alternatives.

“Don’t do that,” the 51-year-old said disapprovingly. “You can write me love letters, you can send me autographs for my kids, you can come and visit. I can have you home for lunch or dinner. We can go for a drink. We can sing together. Whatever you want to do. I can talk to your mother. Whatever you want, but please.”

Adding that age won’t treat the tattoo kindly, Celine continued: “As you get older – you too when the time comes – my face will go longer and it will go no prettier. So please don’t tattoo it.”

Drake already has a vast array of artists’ portraits tattooed on his body – including images of Rihanna, Sade, Lil Wayne, and Aaliyah.

The 32-year-old has not yet responded to Celine’s comments.

Celine Dion only wants to wear outfits which make her feel “strong”.

The Canadian superstar first began her transformation from popstar to chic fashionista back in 2016 after she hired stylist Law Roach to switch-up her wardrobe and stage outfits for her Las Vegas residency gigs.

Now, she’s rocking pieces from the likes of Vetements, Off-White, and Chanel, and accordingly, credits her bold fashion choices to her fearless approach to life.

“So, courage… it represents a whole new life for me, my album, the tour, the way to dress, the way to say you can’t please everyone,” Celine told Entertainment Tonight. “I dress for me; the way I feel. I want to feel that I feel great about myself, I feel strong about myself, I feel good about my decisions with the help of a lot of people, but it’s all about courage and I think everyone should feel like that.”

The My Heart Will Go On hitmaker is releasing a new album, aptly titled Courage, in November and is overjoyed to have control over her music.

“I think I was always courageous. I hope it doesn’t sound pretentious to say that, but I always stressed a lot. We always kind of like just do whatever they suggest to me – not that I was a robot or anything, not to sound kind of weird, like, ‘Do this, do that.’ But I feel like right now I’m more in charge than ever before and this is definitely a part of my life where the maturity kicks in,” the 51-year-old smiled.

Viola Davis has been selected as the new spokeswoman for L’Oreal Paris.

Executives at the French cosmetics giant announced on Tuesday that the Academy Award-winning actress is joining the company as a brand ambassador, with her gig as the face of Age Perfect products to mark one of her first beauty campaigns.

“As a young girl, I wasn’t always told that I was smart, beautiful, or worthy. I worked tremendously hard to get where I am today – overcoming feelings of doubt to become a woman who truly believes I am ‘worth it’ in every way,” the 54-year-old said in a statement. “I believe it’s so important to build confidence in women from a young age, and to role model diverse perspectives of beauty. To now be part of a brand that has been championing women’s worth for more than 40 years and to use my voice to help empower others is truly surreal.”

In the role, Viola joins a roster of diverse spokespeople including Celine Dion, Helen Mirren, Eva Longoria, Elle Fanning, Aja Naomi King, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Camila Cabello, among others.

The Fences star will appear in TV, print, and digital advertising campaigns for Age Perfect beginning later this month.

Delphine Viguier-Hovasse, global brand president of L’Oreal Paris, commented that Viola’s appointment builds on the company’s mission to reflect the diversity of the modern world, as well as promote inclusivity, self-worth, and empowerment.

“We are thrilled to welcome Viola as a member of our family. Viola’s tenacity, authenticity, and bold spirit resonate with and inspire so many people,” she praised. “She challenges the status quo in all aspects of life and her drive to succeed has proven itself time after time – she leads by example and is the perfect conduit to elevate our core message, ‘Because I’m Worth It.'”

The Canadian singer is well known for her love of couture, and the Pose star, who made a splash at the 2019 Oscars in a velvet gown and tuxedo jacket from Christian Siriano, have both been selected by editors at the publication as two of the most stylish celebrities in Hollywood.

Dion commented that she is currently “obsessed” with pieces by Dutch designer Ronald van der Kemp, founder of fashion house RDVK.

“Every piece they do is one of a kind. And last time I went to Paris Fashion Week, Valentino blew my mind,” the 51-year-old gushed.

Meanwhile, Porter named his style icons as Diana Ross and Andre Leon Talley and also described high heels as the most “powerful thing one can wear.”

Dion fell under The Virtuosos category, joining Marc Jacobs, Diane Keaton, Zoe Kravitz, Rami Malek, Priyanka Chopra, basketballer Serge Ibaka, and playwright Jeremy O. Carolyn Murphy has taken aim at the “layers” of abuse which occur within the fashion industry.

The Florida-born model rose to fame in the late 1990s, when she was selected as one of the ‘Modern Muses’ for the November 1999 cover of U.S. Vogue and fronted the campaign for Calvin Klein’s perfume Contradiction.

Recently, Murphy has become a vocal advocate of the #MeToo movement – having once been the target of inappropriate behaviour by a photographer – and has spoken about the darker side of the industry in a chat with Harper’s Bazaar Australia.

“The whole mental experience of it can be really unhealthy,” she said of modelling, before going on to emphasise that it isn’t just about photographers targeting models. “You have people in the industry who abuse their power from all sides. It’s not just males trying to coerce young women into bed; there are so many other layers of abuse. Even female editors are making girls feel terrible about themselves, there are agents who judge you … The #MeToo movement has opened our eyes to an unfortunate part of the industry that needed to be exposed, but there’s a lot more there.”

Elsewhere in the cover interview for the September 2019 issue, Murphy discussed her longevity in the fashion business and comparisons to her idol, supermodel Christy Turlington.

She also spoke about being a single mother to her 18-year-old daughter Dylan and what it is like to be an independent woman in 2019.

“It’s never a bad thing, but not always a great thing,” the 44-year-old mused.

Carine Roitfeld, Celine Dion, Kate Moss, Alicia Keys and actress Margaret Qualley also appear in the latest issue of the magazine.

Lauren Hutton received wild applause from the fashion elite as she walked the Valentino couture catwalk in Paris on Wednesday night.

Creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli championed inclusivity with his casting choices for the event held at the exclusive Hotel Salomon de Rothschild venue, with more than half of the models women of colour.

But it was Hutton, who has previously walked for the likes of Tom Ford and Bottega Veneta, who garnered the most attention at the Valentino presentation, with the 75-year-old sporting a grey coat, emerald green dress, sparkling magenta gloves and a pair of brown heeled suede boots.

The star-studded front row, which included Gwyneth Paltrow, Naomi Campbell, Heidi Klum, Olivia Palermo, Kristin Scott Thomas and Celine Dion erupted in applause and cheered at the sight of the ’70s icon, while the My Heart Will Go On hitmaker later told editors at The Hollywood Reporter that Piccioli’s collection was “perfect”.

Gigi Hadid was another of the models on the runway, who stunned in a lilac gown with an oversized bow and embroidered with silver chrysanthemums, while Kaia Gerber rocked a coral cutout cape and trouser suit.

Make-up artist Pat McGrath was behind-the-scenes creating the kaleidoscope of looks, with brows coated in glitter and fuchsia eyelids.

Despite her triumphant return to the catwalk, Hutton was later spotted taking a tumble, and fell directly in front of the photographers. Luckily, she was unhurt in the fall, and continued to smile for the cameras as she was helped up to her feet by several young models.

And it seems Hutton was determined not to tumble again, as she ditched the high-heeled boots and was spotted barefoot while posing outside the Rothschild villa with Piccioli, Valentino and his partner, Giancarlo Giammetti.
