Dakota Johnson hopes to do more directing in the future.

Back in May, the 30-year-old was in the director’s chair as she oversaw the music video for Cry Cry Cry, the new single from her boyfriend Chris Martin’s band Coldplay.

At the time, the Fifty Shades of Grey actress insisted she was given the job after pitching her ideas to the British band “like every other director”, and in a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar magazine, Dakota confessed she would love to direct more.

“I would love to make more music videos. That’s a department that I really love. I still have so much to learn, and I feel like I’m still trying to figure out how to do my job. But, yeah, I mean, if the opportunity arises, then for sure,” she explained.

Elsewhere in the interview, she revealed how much she enjoyed working on female-centric movie The High Note, which was helmed by Nisha Ganatra and also starred Tracee Ellis Ross.

“I read the script, and I just loved it. I thought that it would be a really great time, and I thought I’d have a wonderful time making this movie, and be able to be ambitious and cool and funny and goofy, and also touch on subjects that are important to me, like young women really working towards their dreams and believing in themselves and supporting each other,” she added.

Gwyneth Paltrow has never really been a fan of wearing make-up.

The Oscar-winning actress appears in People magazine’s 2020 The Beautiful Issue, and in the accompanying interview, confessed she’s always been “a little bit of a tomboy”.

“I’ve never been a make-up person really. I always love not wearing make-up. For me, make-up has always meant that I’m going to work,” she told the publication.

“I went to an all-girls school and we didn’t wear make-up. We weren’t dressing up for anyone,” the 47-year-old continued. “All through junior high and high school, make-up never became part of my routine. And I think part of that is because I was always a little bit of a tomboy. I like the feeling of having clean skin.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the Avengers: Endgame star revealed that she’s overjoyed beauty standards have changed since she was younger, especially now she’s mother to 15-year-old daughter Apple, whom she shares with ex-husband Chris Martin.

“When I was in my formative years, we were told that beauty was basically a Barbie doll; by the time my daughter was in her formative years, that had changed tremendously,” Gwyneth explained. “And I’ve always thought that’s real progression. When I think about me being a kid in the early ’80s and what I was shown as examples is much different than what she was shown.

“As we continue to become more inclusive around our ideas of what is aspirational beauty, we all win.”

Florence Pugh has signed on to star alongside Shia LaBeouf and Chris Pine in Olivia Wilde’s second directorial effort Don’t Worry Darling.

The Little Women star took to social media to share her excitement at landing a role in the psychological thriller, which is set during the 1950s in an isolated, utopian community in the California desert.

Sharing a screenshot of the casting news on Instagram, Florence wrote: “@oliviawilde just tagged me in a picture *gasp no.1* @oliviawilde casted me in a film *gasp no.2* @oliviawilde is my idol and allowed me to be a part of this fecking incredible cast. Shia?!? Chris?!? *gasp no.3*. I can’t wait to join this project when all of this is over. Until then, masks up. Gloves on. Stay home.”

Olivia also posted a screengrab of Deadline’s casting story and wrote, “AM. I. DREAMING?”, prompting Florence to write in the comments: “This just make my heart pound unbelievably so. I can’t explain how excited I am!”

The Booksmart director later took to Twitter to confess she was nervous about the upcoming project, which has made her the “happiest director in the world”.

“This cast is B A N A N A S,” she posted. “To say that I’m honored/excited/elated/sh**ting myself would be a massive understatement… Looking forward to announcing the rest of our incredible ensemble very soon. #DontWorryDarling.”

Fans have since speculated on Twitter that Dakota Johnson will be added to the cast because she said “see you on set” in a hand-washing video that was posted on the director’s Instagram page in March.

In addition to helming the film, Olivia will also star in and produce the movie from a screenplay written by Katie Silberman, who co-wrote Booksmart.

Gwyneth Paltrow is carving out time every day to indulge in some much-needed self-care during lockdown.

The actress and Goop founder opened up to British Vogue about her routine while she’s self-isolating at home in Los Angeles during the coronavirus pandemic.

Gwyneth is busy juggling life with her two kids, Apple, 15, and Moses, 14, who she shares with ex-husband Chris Martin, as well as working on her

lifestyle empire, and she confessed it was hard work.

“Between work, general anxiety, two teenagers and making sure everyone gets fed, making time for self-care can feel gratuitous,” the 47-year-old explained, but noted that self-care is more important than ever during this uncertain time.

“I try to carve out 20 minutes at the end of each day to draw a bath, put on a mask (I love our GOOPGLOW peel pads) and read, listen to a podcast or just text about Tiger King,” Gwyneth said, referencing the hit Netflix documentary series. “Often with a heavy pour of Japanese whiskey.”

The Oscar-winning actress has been working remotely after sending her entire staff home from Goop’s headquarters in Santa Monica when the lockdown was announced last month.

And while working from home in her kitchen, Gwyneth shared a rare photo of her and her children on Instagram, with the caption: “WFH with some moral support.”

She also posted a series of videos on Instagram Stories in honour of her son’s 14th birthday and revealed that his friends had even driven past their house to celebrate with the teenager.

“Socially distanced birthday parade for Moses!” Gwyneth wrote alongside the clips, which were filmed by her daughter Apple.

Dakota Johnson appears to have undergone dental work to have her signature tooth gap closed.

The Fifty Shades of Grey actress is known for having a small space between her upper two front teeth, and in a video for Vanity Fair in 2017, even demonstrated how she could put various objects into the gap, including toothpicks, a credit card, a cherry stem, a twig and cash.

However, following Dakota’s appearance at The Peanut Butter Falcon premiere in Hollywood last Thursday night, eagle-eyed fans noticed that it looked like she had the gap closed entirely.

A close-up photo of the star smiling at the premiere appears to confirm the speculation, though the 29-year-old has yet to comment on whether or not she had a recent trip to the dentist.

In light of the transformation, a number of Dakota’s fans have taken to Twitter to express their thoughts on her new look.

One user wrote, “Logged on to find out that Dakota Johnson, the only person who should have a gap in their teeth, got rid of hers…,” while another asked, “Is grieving over Dakota Johnson fixing her tooth gap a valid reason to not work?”

Yet, a third commenter showed support for Dakota, and praised: “I just found out Dakota Johnson fixed her tooth gap and I’m kinda sad because that was like her brand but if it makes her feel better I’m all for it u go queen (sic).”

Elsewhere, followers posted video montages in honour of Dakota’s famed tooth gap.

Other celebrities known for having gap teeth include Anna Paquin, Elijah Wood, Lara Stone, Madonna, and even Dakota’s rumoured boyfriend, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

The Peanut Butter Falcon, also starring Shia LaBeouf and Bruce Dern, is slated to open in U.S. cinemas on Friday.

Ed Sheeran knew he wasn’t first pick for Yesterday

Danny Boyle was teased relentlessly by Ed Sheeran after learning Chris Martin was the director’s first choice to feature in his new Beatles movie Yesterday.

The Shape of You hitmaker portrays a version of himself in the film, about the only man alive who can recall the songs of the Fab Four, but Sheeran was only approached for the part after the Coldplay rocker turned down the gig.

And the popstar made sure to use every opportunity to jokingly give Boyle and his team a hard time about his casting.

“He teased us rotten because he found out we’d asked Chris Martin first, so he never let us forget that,” the director told NME. “And he accused us of asking Harry Styles second, which isn’t true, but we did ask Chris Martin first, so he teases us rotten about that, but he gives as good as he gets.”

Boyle added, “He’s got a good sense of humour, which he needed to have otherwise it could have been quite unpleasant.”

Although Boyle had originally wanted Martin to appear in Yesterday, screenwriter Richard Curtis thought Sheeran was the perfect choice as their lead character’s mentor.

“Ed’s the son I never had,” Curtis recently told WENN. “I had orange hair when I was young, and Ed’s got orange hair. The truth is that in some ways this film was about Ed, insofar as it’s an Ed that hasn’t succeeded, comes from Suffolk (England), and is engaged to a girl he was at school with.

“They’re all sorts of ingredients from Ed’s life that were in my head because we’ve known him for years.”

Yesterday, which stars Himesh Patel alongside Lily James and Kate McKinnon, opens in cinemas this week.
