KJ Apa hired a stylist after his Riverdale co-star Cole Sprouse urged him to “sort out” his fashion.

The New Zealand-born actor, who has earned himself a legion of fans by playing Archie Andrews in the teen drama, is known for being in great physical shape, something which he regularly shows off in topless scenes and photos.

But in an interview with Men’s Health magazine, KJ admitted that while he cares about his body, he doesn’t put much thought into his clothing.

“I’m a very instinctual shopper, and very impulsive,” he said. “I’ll go out, I’ll see something, I don’t even try it on. I just buy it.”

However, KJ, who likes to experiment with bright colours, bold patterns, oversized, comfortable shapes, was forced to reassess his choices two years ago when he was confronted by Cole, 27, who told him, “Bro, you need a stylist.”

“I was showing up to red carpets in jeans and button-down T-shirts. And I realised, ‘Yeah, I’ve got to get this sorted out,'” the 22-year-old reflected.

KJ enlisted the help of stylist Warren Alfie Baker, who has worked with the likes of Miles Teller and Lucas Hedges, and he now feels more confident in dressing formally.

“Confidence is everything. Otherwise, everyone can see you look uncomfortable, and it’s not a good look,” he insisted.

Elsewhere in the interview, KJ revealed he was still trying to find a balance between working out constantly and giving himself a break.

“It’s important to give yourself balance, which is still something I’m trying to learn. Like, to work out hard for three weeks, take a week to chill. Otherwise, you burn yourself out, and I’ve experienced that,” The Last Summer star shared. “But, I mean, look at Dwayne Johnson. He gets it done.”

Lili Reinhart is “intimidated” when she compares her body to that of her Riverdale castmates.

The actress, who stars alongside Camila Mendes, KJ Apa, and her real-life boyfriend Cole Sprouse in the TV show, made the confession as she responded to a fan who asked why everyone on the teen drama has “perfectly chiselled bodies”, with the viewer continuing: “Don’t you think TV shows like this aimed at teenagers are contributing to unrealistic body expectations body image issues?”

Lili replied by stating that she doesn’t have a perfect body and sometimes feels insecure when she has to act in her underwear.

“Actually, not everyone on this show is perfectly chiselled. And even I feel intimidated by the physique of my surrounding castmates sometimes when I have to do bra/underwear scenes,” she tweeted. “I’ve felt very insecure due to the expectation that people have for women on TV, what they should look like.

“But I have come to terms with my body and that I’m not the kind of person you would see walking on a runway during fashion week. I have bigger boobs, I have cellulite on my thighs/butt, and my stomach sticks out rather than curves in.”

The Hustlers star went on to admit that she struggles with her imperfections every day and is insecure about the weight she has gained in the last two months due to her battle with depression.

However, she was determined to “be strong and show confidence in myself, looking as I do” when she had to film a recent underwear scene because feels obligated to set an example for others.

“I want other young women to see my body on TV and feel comfort in the fact that I’m not a size 0. And I’m not a perfect hourglass shape,” the 23-year-old wrote. “This industry struggles with accurate representation of female and male bodies.”

Riverdale star Cole Sprouse’s mood inspires what he wears.

The actor has become one of Hollywood’s most stylish young talents and admits he enjoys getting dressed up as a form of self-expression.

“That’s the fun in waking up in the morning, figuring out how you want to interact with the environment based on the style you choose,” he tells InStyle. “I think even the old curmudgeons who try to say their sloppy style is this careless sort of thing (agree)…

“From the second you put on any piece of clothing, that sort of dictates how you interact with the world and the world interacts with you. It’s fun to experiment with style and see how you feel in the skin that you’re putting on that morning.”

But there’s one item the 26 year old always wishes he could wear with confidence.

“I feel like to pull off jorts (jean shorts), which is already a hard thing to pull off – and put on – my thighs have got to be way more muscular,” he explains. “My dad gave me a pair of jorts once, and with all seriousness. He gave me a pair of jorts and I was like, ‘Oh. Cool!’ And that’s when I found out I didn’t have the legs for them.”

Sprouse showed off his fashion sense earlier this month (May19) when he attended the Met Gala with girlfriend and Riverdale co-star Lili Reinhart in a Ferragamo embroidered red vest, slacks, bow tie, and a burnt orange pair of shoes.

Cole has also been helping to promote the Vineyard Vines for Target pop up store in New York, joining Priyanka Chopra at various promotional events and showcasing the looks available at the boutique ahead of its opening on 18 May (19).

Haley Lu Richardson originally passed on Five Feet Apart because she was scared about trying to do justice to those suffering from cystic fibrosis.

In the new teen romance drama, the Split actress plays Stella, a girl with cystic fibrosis (CF) who falls in love with fellow sufferer Will, played by Riverdale’s Cole Sprouse, after meeting in hospital but they have to keep six feet apart due to a risk of cross-infection.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Edge of Seventeen actress admitted that she originally turned the part down because she was scared she wouldn’t be able to give a realistic portrayal of a person with CF.

“I actually passed on this movie. I wasn’t super into this script the first time I read it, to be honest,” she said. “Not because of what these characters go through, but because there were things about Stella that were hard for me to connect to.

“It was scary to imagine doing justice to that and making that grounded and real in this big genre teen movie. Honestly, I think it scared me at first because I didn’t know if it was possible, but then it’s also a challenge and exciting being as grounded and real of a character and having conversations and saying words that a teenager can actually relate to with this magical, high-stakes situation happening around them.”

The 24-year-old eventually agreed to take on the role of Stella, and she still felt an “insane responsibility” to accurately portray the disease, especially given that it’s so rarely shown onscreen, and she kept authenticity her top priority.

“Being one of the first outlets that this very real disease is represented, in such a big way of a studio movie, you have to do it as right as you possibly can,” she explained. “You have to do as much justice to it is as humanly possible… It was the No. 1 priority.

“I hope people with CF see this movie and really realise how much we cared and how much we wanted to do them justice.”

Activist and author Claire Wineland, who suffered from CF, served as a consultant on the movie and helped the actors perfect their portrayals, however, she sadly passed away in September (18) before the movie came out.

Five Feet Apart, directed by Jane the Virgin’s Justin Baldoni, in cinemas now.

Riverdale’s Cole Sprouse and his brother Dylan have joined forces for a new J Brand jeans campaign.

The twin actors, who starred on the series The Suite Life of Zack and Cody growing up, are showcasing the label’s latest collection, which is set to debut in the spring (19). The ads, which star Dylan are were shot by photographer Cole, are inspired by classic films from the 1970s, as well as more modern hits like the 1999 drama Cruel Intentions.

In the images, Dylan appears alongside a female model in J Brand’s classic denim button-down shirt. In another photo, he sports a navy T-shirt, dark denim pants, brown steel-toe boots and a beige trench jacket. Among the looks are monochrome pieces in white, black, and baby blue.

In an interview with The Cut, Dylan revealed collaborating with his brother was easy as the former child stars are “pretty synced up by now”, creatively.

“I’ve been watching Cole do photography since he was really discovering his style, so I was amazed after all this time to discover that he’s very professional and put together on a shoot,” he said.

Cole has previously put his photo skills to use by shooting editorials for Elle and Vogue.

The Sprouse boys have been busy of late – Cole just completed production on the film Five Feet Apart, while Dylan has been busy running his beverage company the All-Wise Meadery in New York after opening the establishment last year (18).

The two have also been making headlines for their romances – Cole has been dating his Riverdale co-star Lili Reinhart, while Dylan has coupled up with model Barbara Palvin.

Camila Mendes has jokingly used an actual pancake to blend her make-up.

The actress, best known for playing Veronica Lodge on Riverdale, is currently shooting episodes for the hit TV show, with the third season having premiered in October (18).

Camila recently took the idea of “pancake make-up” to a whole new level during a recent day of shooting in Pop’s Diner on the programme’s set, with her co-star Cole Sprouse, who portrays Jughead Jones, capturing her playfully picking up a piece of pancake to blend her foundation.

In the footage, which Cole uploaded to his Instagram Stories, the brunette beauty – dressed in full costume – can be seen casually dabbing the pancake on her cheeks, chin and underneath her eyes.

At the end of the clip, Camila is depicted reaching for a piece of bacon from the plate in front of her, causing fans to question if she was planning to use other foods in unconventional ways too.

Camila is yet to share the video on her own social media pages. However, the star is no stranger to exploring various beauty hacks, and she wore Eos’ Dazzling Ruby Lip & Cheek Tint, a deep red balm, as a blush when she attended the 2018 E! People’s Choice Awards earlier this month.

And while the actress is known for her signature eyebrows, she previously shared in an interview with People.com that she mostly invests in quality skincare products and also loves to indulge in a luxury facial when she has a gap in her schedule.

“I get them every once in a while, especially when I’m working. When I’m filming a lot, I try to get them once every two weeks because I wear so much make-up on set and it’s just getting caked on,” the 24-year-old said of facials, adding that her favourite treatment to undergo is microdermabrasion. “I do it to just kind of exfoliate and then I can see all the makeup that’s been stuck into my pores. So that helps a lot!”

Riverdale star Lili Reinhart finds it comforting to share her acne battle with fans.

The actress has struggled with breakouts and zits for years and refuses to pretend to have perfect skin, despite being in the spotlight.

She has also refused to stay silent about her problem areas, confessing her pimples and spots have helped make her who she is today.

“You’re presented with movie stars and TV stars who have beautiful skin, and you don’t see acne because it’s unappealing, especially in Riverdale, where everyone looks perfect all the time,” she tells People magazine. “I definitely came on this show feeling like I had the worst skin and I felt very self-conscious about it.”

The 22 year old decided to be open about her struggle in the hopes that others could relate to her experience, frequently sharing her stories with her over 12 million Instagram followers.

“I find it therapeutic sharing that with my fans because it made me feel like it was OK when I broke out,” Reinhart says. “It also shows other people that it’s OK to break out.”

The beauty has channelled her experiences into her role as a spokesperson for skincare brand Dermalogica, admitting the new platform has played a role in her ability to ignore negative comments from trolls online.

“I do get negativity and awful comments,” she adds. “People criticise the relationship that I’m in (with boyfriend and co-star Cole Sprouse) and they say ‘fire her stylist’ if I’m wearing something that someone doesn’t like.

“You could have 100 nice comments and one sour one, and you’re going to remember the sour one because it offends you and insults you. But that is such a small fraction of what I’m seeing on my social media.”

Thankfully, Reinhart, who recently signed on as a model for H&M, has grown self-assured enough to look past the unwanted attention.

“I don’t know how I’ve gotten to this point, but it truly bounces off my back,” she says. “I think it’s because I’m confident in myself, I’m confident in my relationship, in my friendships and in my talent that I know that what they’re saying isn’t true. I don’t feel insecure at this point in my life.”

The Riverdale star stepped out at the celebration held at The Forum in California, where she picked up the prize for Choice Drama TV Actress, while her show won a number of other awards including Choice Drama TV Show.

Lili walked the red carpet separately from her co-star and boyfriend Cole Sprouse, who won Choice Drama TV Actor, and certainly made a style statement in a number from Monique Lhuillier. The 21-year-old matched her ensemble with pink satin Olgana Paris shoes and jewellery from EF Collection.

“Moody sultry Elle Woods meets Vogue,” she captioned a snap of the look on her Instagram page, referring to Reese Witherspoon’s character in 2001 movie Legally Blonde.

Among the other Riverdale castmembers to dress up for the night included Madelaine Petsch, who sported a Giambattista Valli top and trousers featuring a floral print, while Camila Mendes looked stunning in a blush pink Fendi dress with strappy Sophia Webster heels.

In addition, 13 Reasons Why star Katherine Langford dazzled in a black lace Alberta Ferretti dress and Sergio Rossi shoes, Nina Dobrev rocked a lemon yellow minidress and Anna Kendrick opted for a pink and silver minidress as well as silver Giuseppe Zanotti high heels.

Meanwhile, Lucy Hale went all out in a striking Mary Katrantzou dress with plunging neckline which she complemented with Jimmy Choo pumps, Kat Kim bling and an Edie Parker clutch. To top off her eye-catching look, the Pretty Little Liars actress had her make-up artist Kelsey Deenihan give her a slick of green shadow on her lids.

“Poison ivy… we WENT for it tonight,” she wrote alongside a snap of her beauty look on her social media pages.

Other celebrities at the bash included Joey King, Chloe Grace Moretz, Bebe Rexha, Storm Reid and Meghan Trainor.

Lili Reinhart has hit back at critics who have attempted to shame her over body dysmorphia.

The actress, best known for portraying Betty Cooper on The CW drama series Riverdale, has been open about her battles with body image, anxiety and depression in recent interviews.

However, in a string of messages posted on Twitter on Wednesday (04Jul18), she shared that she had been targeted by online trolls who had argued that she was too thin to suffer from body dysmorphia, a disorder characterised by the obsessive idea that some aspect of one’s own body or appearance is severely flawed.

“Feeling really disheartened by the fact that so many people are saying ‘you’re skinny so shut up about embracing your body.’ As if my body dysmorphia is irrelevant because of how I look to some people,” she wrote. “I’m either not curvy enough or not skinny enough to feel insecure.”

Lili has previously stated that her body image issues began when she was 16 and her metabolism slowed down.

Accordingly, she also shared in one of her new tweets that those doubting people with low self-esteem can cause even more problems.

“Mental illness gets worse when people say that you don’t have a right to feel the way you do. That’s where we are failing. Do not encourage this behaviour. It is destructive. More destructive than you’ll ever realise. You may not understand someone’s insecurity – but respect it,” the 21-year-old noted.

In a wide-ranging interview with U.S. Harper’s Bazaar published earlier this week, Lili said she was committed to presenting her authentic self in the media and embracing her flaws, especially in regards to her struggles with cystic acne.

And the Cleveland native, who is currently dating her Riverdale co-star Cole Sprouse, is adamant that the way she looks on the red carpet and in photoshoots isn’t how she appears in her everyday life.

“I’m not that flawless image person,” she insisted. “I could never live up to that. I’m not going to make people think I’m this airbrushed version of myself. There are lots of versions of me.”

Camila Mendes feels comfortable baring her breasts in photoshoots.

The American actress shot to fame after landing the role of Veronica Lodge on teen drama Riverdale, in which she stars alongside Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse. As a result of her growing popularity, numerous magazines have approached the star and she has already appeared on the covers on Cosmopolitan, Seventeen and Marie Claire. And though the photoshoots often require her to wear revealing outfits, Camila is happy to comply.

“I probably would show my t*ts to anybody,” the 24-year-old stated in a recent cover interview with Nylon magazine. “I actually would probably do that. I really don’t care. It’s just this genuine, ‘Yeah, these are my boobs. Is there a problem?’ I don’t understand what the problem is.”

Camila, who poses braless wearing a sheer multicoloured striped top in one of the photos, explained that she is reluctant to accept the societal pressure revolving the female anatomy, and becomes frustrated when a debate ensues over her body.

“When I’ve been in photoshoots, and there’s a little bit of my nipple showing, there’s always a whole conversation about it. Like with Nylon, everyone was just like, ‘Is this okay? Are we going to do this?'” she recalled. “And I was like, ‘Everyone stop talking about it. Let’s just go shoot it. This isn’t a conversation.’ I completely shut it down and said that this was something that we were not going to sit there and debate, because I know how I feel about it, and I’m totally fine to take a photo with my t*ts showing.”

Though Camila now evokes a refreshing newfound confidence, she also addressed her past struggles with eating disorders – and admitted she is “still dealing” with her illness and “might always still struggle.”
