Scarlett Johansson would be interested in starring in a Dolly Parton movie, after the country singer suggested the actress play her in a biopic.
When she was interviewed recently about a potential movie adaptation of her life, the country music legend was asked who she’d want to see play her in the project, to which she replied either Scarlett or Reese Witherspoon.
The actress was asked about the prospect by Entertainment Tonight as she attended the Elle Women In Hollywood Awards on Monday, and admitted she wouldn’t rule it out.
“Those are big shoes to fill,” she replied. “Or, probably not. They are probably very tiny, dainty, sparkly fabulous shoes.”
While Scarlett has “never found a biopic that I felt compelled to try my hand at,” she added she’d be interested “just for the costumes alone!”
“She is quite a woman,” she said of the 9 to 5 star. “She’s a hard-working woman and she embodies everything that is fierce independence. So, I’m sure it would be a lot of work but it would be good work. So, maybe!”
The Avengers star is currently being kept busy in all aspects of her life, with work, motherhood and planning her wedding to Colin Jost. Of how she’s managing to balance it all, she smiled: “It’s very imbalanced. I think that is a rumour. There is no balance.”

Scarlett Johansson drew from her parents’ divorce to prepare for the family drama Marriage Story.
The actress appears opposite Adam Driver as a young mother coping with the breakup of her marriage in the film, and while the star has been divorced twice, she was directly influenced by what she had experienced growing up.
“It felt familiar somehow, but not because of what I’d been experiencing then,” Johansson, who was in the middle of her divorce from Romain Dauriac when preparing for the project, told Elle magazine. “But maybe because of how I grew up, and the dynamic between my parents – or maybe because I’ve known women who’ve dedicated themselves to their partner’s vision and then come out of this decade-long relationship feeling almost like a ghost.”
The Avengers: Endgame star was also previously married to Ryan Reynolds but is now setting out to find wedded bliss for a third time with Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost.
The 34-year-old also recalled how she set her own feelings of happiness aside in order to portray her character’s anguish.
“My ability to compartmentalise comes in handy when it’s time for things like that,” she added. “I’m certainly, obviously, very happy and fulfilled in my personal life, but I’m also a sum of many parts, and able to access different parts of my story and how I got here. It’s all valuable.”
Johansson was thrilled to play a mother on screen for the first time too.
“It’s funny, because I had never played a mother before, and now suddenly I have two films back to back where I have children who are, like, eight or nine years old,” Johansson, who shares five-year-old daughter Rose with Dauriac, added. “Actors get to wherever they need to go whether or not they’ve lived it, but (these roles) had a deeper resonance with me because of my own personal experience.”

Scarlett Johansson has showed off her stunning engagement ring for the first time, two months after saying yes to Colin Jost.
The actress displayed the huge 11-carat egg-shaped sparkler on Saturday during a Marvel event at Comic-Con in San Diego.
As her new Black Widow standalone movie was announced, Scarlett took to the stage in a black and white David Koma jumpsuit with sheer panelling, Gianvito Rossi heels, and her jaw-dropping engagement ring.
According to editors at Page Six Style, the stone is a yellow-brown tinted diamond, mounted on an unusual black band, and worth more than $400,000 (£320,000).
It is also reportedly the work of Taffin’s owner James de Givenchy, the nephew of legendary French fashion designer, Hubert de Givenchy.
On 29 June, an employee of the New York-based jewellery company shared a photo of a ring very similar to Scarlett’s on Instagram, with the caption: “11 cts (carats) light brown diamond, type 2A.”
The 34-year-old and Colin first made their debut as a couple back in November 2017 and announced that they were engaged in May. The loved-up duo was spotted celebrating their happy news just one day later at the Blue Hill restaurant at Stone Barns in New York, according to reports.
Scarlett and her Saturday Night Live co-head writer beau were last seen on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of Avengers: Endgame, just weeks before Colin popped the question.
The blonde star was previously married to Ryan Reynolds from 2008 until 2010, and Romain Dauriac from 2014 to 2017, with whom she shares five-year-old daughter Rose.
This is the first marriage for the 37-year-old funnyman.
