Bebe Rexha was once pressured to “starve” herself by industry bosses prior to shooting a music video.

The Meant to Be singer is a vocal advocate for body positivity, having encountered a number of instances of size discrimination since launching her career in 2013.

However, in a new interview with Cosmopolitan U.K. magazine, Bebe made a point of speaking out about one instance in which she claimed an executive urged her to lose weight.

“When I first got signed, the label said, ‘Are you ready to get in boot camp shape?’ They wanted me to lose 20 pounds (nine kilograms). Back then I was so small, I was only 130 pounds (58 kilograms),” she recalled. “It f**ked me up. I was so cold all the time. I would starve myself before filming a music video.”

Bebe went on to mention a female creative director who insisted she hit the gym twice a day too.

“She’d sit opposite me at the dinner table and say, ‘You’re not losing enough.’ All I was eating was salad,” the 30-year-old remembered.

At present, Bebe is very comfortable with her U.S. size 6 figure (U.K. 10), and in June, took the opportunity to reject mean comments social media users were making about her size.

“I don’t give a two s**ts about what people think about my weight. I care about what I think about my weight,” the star posted. “To all the people tweeting mean things to me about my weight you just want a response and you will not get it.

“The hate you breed that stems from Insecurity don’t look pretty on you.”

Jordyn Woods debuts new tattoo after Tristan Thompson drama

Jordyn Woods has debuted a new tattoo which seemingly references the tough times she faced in the wake of the Tristan Thompson scandal.

The 21-year-old model unveiled the ink on her forearm while attending the recent UOMA Beauty Summer House party in Los Angeles, and later showed it off again at the premiere of 47 Meters Down: Uncaged on Tuesday night.

Inked in a fine cursive script, the tattoo reads, “What’s meant for me will never miss me.”

The words refer to an excerpt from a quote by Arab Muslim writer Al-Shafi’i, who lived from 767 to 820 AD.

The full passage is: “My heart is at ease knowing that what was meant for me will never miss me, and that what misses me was never meant for me.”

Last week, Woods was spotted leaving a private tattoo studio in Los Angeles with a fresh bandage on her arm. The new body art was reportedly done by her brother John Woods.

The same day, she took to her Instagram Stories to tease fans about her tattoo and tagged her sibling in the now-expired video.

It’s not clear what inspired Woods to choose the empowering words, but it comes six months after her alleged tryst with Khloe Kardashian’s basketball player boyfriend, with whom she shares 16-month-old daughter True.

Thompson reportedly kissed the model after a house party back in February, and while Woods denied anything else happened with the 28-year-old sportsman, she was instantly ousted from the Kardashian-Jenner family’s inner circle and forced to move out of her former best friend Kylie Jenner’s house.

However, she’s hopeful that they will reconnect in the future.

“I hope everything falls into place and that we can all grow and build our relationships with our family and God. And come back together one day and be stronger and happier,” the TV personality told Cosmopolitan U.K. in an interview for the September issue.

Ashley Benson has been named as the face of Cosmopolitan’s new range of perfumes.

Executives at the publication have partnered with Luxe Brands, the company behind Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber’s scents, on the line of high-end fragrances.

Four perfumes – Extra Concentrated, 100 per cent Chilled, Love, Unfiltered and Pure Sugar – come in a crumpled juice box-style packaging, complete with a straw.

The Pretty Little Liars star is to be featured in print and online campaigns for the new scents, called Eau de Juice, which are available to buy from Ulta Beauty, priced at $55 (£45).

Cosmopolitan’s editor-in-chief Jessica Pels said that the perfume is the “perfect new extension” for the publication.

“In the spirit of Cosmo and our 81 million-strong audience of modern young women, Eau de Juice is cheeky, witty, and fun. Fragrance is the busy girl’s best secret weapon,” she explained.

While Noreen Dodge, chief marketing officer of Luxe Brands, commented that the Eau de Juice packaging is “very Instagrammable very eye-catching.”

“We love the idea of if it’s not on Insta did it even happen,” she said. “Especially when you’re talking about this demographic. We wanted to make sure when we took that sensibility into the design of this brand. We went through a lot of rounds of design.”

And Steve Ross, global chief licensing officer and head of brand development for Hearst Magazines, also shared that the unique bottle is being patented.

“You can really see this brand come to life in a cheeky and whimsical way. We know that roughly one-third of all beauty spending in this country is done by Cosmo readers, so we’re betting fragrance will be a relevant category that will really resonate with them,” he stated.

Mariah Carey is convinced she’s left it too late to get her lips augmented.

The We Belong Together hitmaker can usually be found rocking a glossy pink or peachy pout when making public appearances, and during a cover interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, Mariah revealed she opts for a more subtle colour because red doesn’t work for her lips, which she has considered enhancing with cosmetic surgery.

“I look horrible with a red lip. I probably should have gotten my lips done, but it’s too late,” the pop diva candidly revealed.

In the wide-ranging interview, Mariah proudly showed off the fact that she didn’t need to wear Spanx shapewear by telling the journalist, “There’s nothing here but this knit dress,” as she ran her hands down her torso, and lamented on modern style, by quipping, “A lot of girls are just nude in front of everybody. No offense to them.”

Mariah also took a quiz, during which she was asked to pick out about her favourite outfit ever, and she pointed to the voluminous Vera Wang gown she wore when she got married to music manager Tommy Mottola in 1993 and the dress she wore when she tied the knot with TV personality Nick Cannon, the father of her twins Monroe and Moroccan, in 2008.

The singer then gave her top tips for taking a good selfie and advised her fans to stop pouting in their photos.

“Let someone else take the picture – unpurse your lips!!! Ugh,” she recommended.

In the cover image for the magazine, Mariah wears a white T-shirt bearing a picture of herself, and Cosmopolitan editors added in the caption, “Yes, that is her own face on her shirt.”

Tess Holliday has responded to a TV broadcaster who has criticised her body shape and weight.

The 33-year-old plus-size model and body positivity activist was targeted by Piers Morgan in late August (18) after she landed her first Cosmopolitan magazine cover, with the journalist describing the photoshoot as “dangerous and misguided”.

On Thursday (20Sep18), Piers once again hit out at Tess’ weight in an open letter published on Mail Online, though the fashion star has since responded by stating that she remained undeterred by his comments in an Instagram post.

“People ask me all the time how I deal with all the folks who attack my size/body/motives. It’s simple: I laugh #effyourbeautystandards,” she captioned a snap from her Cosmopolitan shoot showing her smiling while posing in a black dress.

Tess, who works out with personal trainer Massy Arias, is a U.S. size 22 but has always maintained that she leads a healthy lifestyle and suffers from no health problems.

But in his article, Piers asserted that the mother-of-two is “morbidly obese” and is “trapped in a hellish spiral of self-delusion”.

In addition, he slammed magazine editors for encouraging Tess to embrace her size 22 figure.

“You’re only getting the cover of Cosmo and endless TV appearances because you’re massively, dangerously overweight yet feigning joy,” the 53-year-old wrote. “In your heart, you must know this? The editors and producers paying you large sums of money to glamourise your morbid obesity are cynically exploiting you. They’re your enablers.”

Previously, Tess brushed off Piers’ comments by posting a message on Twitter in which she joked that the broadcaster seemed to be “obsessed” with her.

Tess Holliday: ‘I’m not a burden on the British healthcare system’

Tess Holliday has hit back at nasty comments she’s a burden to the British healthcare system after she landed her first Cosmopolitan cover.

Tess shows off her U.S. size 22 body on the cover of the latest issue of the British magazine, where she’s seen blowing a kiss to the camera in a satin green lingerie body. The tagline reads: “Tess Holliday wants the haters to kiss her a*s.”

The cover has come under fire by some who accuse the plus-size model of promoting an unhealthy lifestyle, but Tess has a clear message for her critics.

“To everyone saying I’m a burden to the British health care system, I’m american so you don’t have to worry about my fat ass. Worry about what horrible people you are by whining about how me being on the cover of a glossy magazine impacts your small minded life,” she blasted on Twitter.

One person who’s been vocal about his disdain for the 33-year-old’s latest modelling gig is ranting broadcaster Piers Morgan.

Sharing the Cosmo cover on his own Instagram account, Piers fumed: “As Britain battles an ever-worsening obesity crisis, this is the new cover of Cosmo. Apparently we’re supposed to view it as a ‘huge step forward for body positivity.’ What a load of old baloney. This cover is just as dangerous & misguided as celebrating size zero models.”

Tess, who recently started working out with personal trainer Massy Arias, has always maintained she leads a healthy lifestyle, with her husband Nick Holliday previously telling Cover Media that the flame-haired star suffers no health problems.

“The thing is they don’t believe her, they’re like ‘but what about your health?’ Do you have high blood pressure? No. Do you have diabetes. No. And they’re like but you’re going to get heart disease. Well maybe, but my dad’s got heart disease and he weighs like 100lbs,” Nick ranted.

Tess Holliday created body confidence campaign ‘out of frustration’

Tess Holliday launched her #effyourbeautystandards online campaign “out of frustration”.

The Instagram account has almost 400,000 followers, while the hashtag has been applied to over three million posts on the platform since Tess launched the initiative in 2013.

As a self-described “body positive activist,” the model decided it was time to take action after growing sick and tired of the negative comments she was receiving on her own Instagram posts.

“I created (the campaign) out of frustration,” she explained in an interview with Cosmopolitan UK. “I was angry and sad that people kept commenting on my pictures saying, ‘You’re too fat to wear that!’ or ‘Cover up! No one wants to see that!’ And then one night I was lying in bed and thought, ‘F**k that!’ So I posted an image with four photographs of myself wearing things that fat women are often told we ‘can’t wear’, and encouraged others to do the same.”

The 33-year-old is one of the most recognisable plus-sized models in the fashion industry today, having worked with brands including Benefit Cosmetics and H&M, while posing for publications such as Vogue Italia and Nylon magazine.

However, she admitted that she wasn’t so confident before she gave birth to her first son Rylee at the age of 20.

“I was a U.S. size 16 to 18 my entire life before I had Rylee. I look back on those photos now and I don’t wish I was that size, but what I wish is that I loved myself 120 pounds ago,” said Tess, who is also mother to two-year-old son Bowie. “I’m at the heaviest I’ve ever been in my life now and it took me being the heaviest to finally love myself.”

Tess also insisted she’d continue to fight for diversity for “the tonne of models out there who don’t have the opportunity because they don’t have three million followers on social media”.

Kim Kardashian’s hairstylist Jen Atkins has shared a simple insider tip on how to avoid oily, unmanageable hair.

The hair professional works with the reality TV star and the entire Kardashian-Jenner family, as well as Chrissy Teigen and supermodel Bella Hadid, and to keep her clients looking perfect, she ensures products are tailored to scalp conditions.

Atkins explains she has multiple options to treat various textures and scalp types in her Ouai product line, but it should be easy to find solutions for greasy hair at home by employing a simple shampooing technique.

“No one thinks about this, especially if you’re a girl who suffers with a greasy scalp, but you should wash your hair with two different shampoos, because the root and ends are such different hair,” she told Cosmopolitan.

“Think about it, the ends of your hair have usually been coloured and are pretty dead, so you wanna use a hydrating shampoo like our Ouai Repair, or Ouai Smooth to wash the ends with, but you want to wash the roots with a more cleansing shampoo, like Ouai Volume, or Clean.

“Wash the roots first, then wash the ends and you’re good to go.”

Jen has spoken about the value of using the right products at the right time to enhance hair before, revealing to Flare last year (17) she makes it a point to turn down the heat on her styling tools and to use formulas that protect tresses.

“I spend so much time making hair look like nothing was done to it,” she laughed. “You want products that aren’t too sticky or heavy, and you shouldn’t be afraid to layer them.”

Lucy Hale is a chronic chewer thanks to ‘oral fixation’

Actress Lucy Hale makes sure she always has a huge bag of chewing gum on hand to fulfil her “oral fixation”.

The former Pretty Little Liars star admits she is somewhat of a chronic chewer and is rarely without a pack – or a dozen – of Mentos Pure Fresh Sugar-Free Gum.

“I always (get the big size),” she tells Cosmopolitan. “I have an oral fixation, so I always need to be chewing something.”

Her fixations don’t end with chewing – the 28-year-old confesses she also has a thing for tackling chapped skin immediately with a $14 (£10) tub of Aquaphor Healing Ointment Advanced Therapy Skin Protectant.

“I keep this tub of Aquaphor next to my bed that I’ve probably had for three years,” she shares. “It’s the best. I use it for everything. Mainly for chapstick, but you can put it anywhere.”

Fussy Lucy, who washes her face three times every night with an oil cleanser, cream cleanser, and milk cleanser, is also adamant about the type of deodorant she wears, which is part of the reason why she recently signed up as a brand ambassador for Degree.

“I’m someone who rewears clothes,” she explains. “I used to be the girl who would buy a bunch of stuff, and now it’s just more about quality than quantity, and there’s nothing worse than not being able to wear something because of deodorant stains. “The whole point of this deodorant is you can wear it with black and white clothing, which is my whole closet anyway, because on white, it doesn’t turn yellow, and on black, it doesn’t leave white marks.”
