Carine Roitfeld is hosting a star-studded virtual fashion show to raise awareness for the coronavirus relief effort.

The second annual CR Runway show, in collaboration with the amfAR Fund to Fight Covid-19, will be a catwalk extravaganza featuring the likes models Karlie Kloss, Alessandra Ambrosio, Ashley Graham, Adriana Lima, Halima Aden, Hailey Bieber, and Irina Shayk.

Hosted by Derek Blasberg, head of fashion and beauty partnerships at YouTube, the Fashion Unites show will feature runway walks with models wearing looks from their own personal wardrobes, which Roitfeld styled remotely.

The 30-minute show has been entirely self-filmed and will feature inspiring words from the fashion elite.

Designers Diane von Furstenberg, Virgil Abloh, and Alexander Wang are set to make a virtual appearance alongside Kim Kardashian, Winnie Harlow, and Amber Valletta.

The former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris said she was inspired to “engage with the creativity of others more than ever” while in self-isolation at her luxury apartment in Paris, France.

“I am very proud of how much we all stepped out of our comfort zones to create this event,” she told WWD. “For the first time, hairstylists brought their visions to life without the use of their hands, models called the shots from behind the camera, and I learned how to style looks using only what I could see through a video call on my phone.”

The inaugural CR Runway fashion show, co-founded by Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld, debuted in Florence, Italy, in June last year, and included models Irina Shayk, Bella Hadid, Karolina Kurkova, and Stella Maxwell.

The Fashion Unites show will stream on YouTube at 4pm (EST) on Friday.

Pregnant Ashley Graham has dressed up as a “knocked up” Jessica Rabbit for a Halloween party.

The model announced in August that she is expecting her first child with her husband Justin Ervin, and over the past two months, has regularly shared pregnancy updates with her social media followers.

Over the weekend, Ashley got into the Halloween spirit too, stepping out for a bash in Los Angeles wearing a costume inspired by the sexy animated character from 1988 film Who Framed Roger Rabbit, while Justin chose to dress as late wrestler Randy Savage, also known as Macho Man.

“Macho Man knocked up Jessica Rabbit for Halloween,” she captioned a series of snaps on her Instagram page.

Ashley’s post quickly racked up more than 600,000 likes, with many of her celebrity pals commenting on her skintight red latex dress, purple gloves, and red wig.

“You are so gorgeous,” posted singer Bebe Rexha, with actress Camila Mendes writing, “Looove (sic).”

Fashion journalist Derek Blasberg stated, “JESSICA RABBIT HAVING BUNNIES!” while personal trainer Kira Stokes joked: “Just cut the bottom off your dress and throw Justin’s leggings on and you’re ready for our workout tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, some of Ashley’s other followers asked her how she managed to get into the tight dress considering her growing baby belly, to which the 31-year-old replied, “BABY POWDER.”

And another fan suggested she should have dressed as wrestler Miss Elizabeth for the event, to which she explained: “Couldn’t fit into a corset LOL (laugh out loud) but there’s always next year.”

Christian Louboutin thanked his “partner in crime” Diane von Furstenberg for her unwavering support as he accepted a top fashion honour from the Couture Council on Wednesday.

The 56-year-old Frenchman was given the Couture Council Award for Artistry of Fashion, which recognises his contributions to the fashion industry, in a ceremony at the Lincoln Center in New York.

In his emotional speech, Louboutin reflected on his career and thanked his longtime friend for her efforts in kickstarting his now-iconic footwear brand.

“She’s my godmother, she’s my sister, she’s my travel companion, she’s my oracle, she’s my partner in every crime,” he shared. “She has always been a radiant of support, emotionally and professionally.”

He recalled how he had even sold his first pair of shoes in America from Furstenberg’s office as he started out in fashion, and wanted to share the prestigious award with his friend of more than thirty years.

“I owe her so much, but more than that, I love her so much,” Louboutin gushed. “To me, this award is also a celebration of love and friendship, so I would like to share this award with her, my oldest friend, Diane von Furstenberg.”

The designer was introduced to the stage by his friend, actress Priyanka Chopra, who wore a pair of white Louboutin slingback shoes in honour of the Frenchman.

“These iconic shoes that women around the world have worn make… each one of us real women, everyday woman when we wear these shoes, when we own our first pair, we achieve such a sense of achievement, a sense of pride,” Chopra said. “It gives you the little extra oomph that you need.”

During his speech, Louboutin recalled how he first met the Quantico actress at a film festival in Morocco before she met her now-husband Nick Jonas, and the duo later met up in India, “where they got to share lots of great nights and dirty stories”.

Cara Delevingne doesn’t consider herself to be a “fashionista”.

The model/actress has reflected on her career in a new interview with Derek Blasberg for U.K. Elle magazine, and revealed that despite being the face of Dior Beauty, and walking the catwalk for luxury fashion houses including Chanel, she thinks members of her family are much more stylish.

“I’m still not a fashionista. I think anyone, in comparison to me, is more ‘fashion’ than I am,” she said. “I guess my household was more fashion-y than most. My dad is a fashionable person, though he likes to be naked, and my mother is a fashionable person – she’s kind of a hoarder. My grandmother always had a lot of clothes, too.”

Cara went on to open up about her fears of not being a successful model when she first started out in the industry, and told Derek she needed to try her hand at other options, such as acting, or she’d have a breakdown.

“I didn’t ever think that I would be successful at it in any way, shape, or form. But a few years in, I realised it wasn’t good for me, physically or emotionally, and I’d have to try new, different things,” the 27-year-old explained.

Elsewhere in the interview, Cara recalled some of her most memorable fashion moments and pinpointed her Burberry perfume campaign with icon Kate Moss back in 2014 as a highlight.

“One of the best and worst moments was shooting my first Burberry campaign with Kate. It was terrifying! How do you get your photo taken next to her? It’s like shooting with a panther. She’s the queen of the set but also, she might eat me. I was in awe but trying to get the shot. Every time I was on set, I’d be staring at her instead of looking at the camera,” she laughed.

Derek Blasberg didn’t have a hard time convincing Victoria Beckham to launch her own YouTube channel after she realised she’d be controlling her own narrative.

It was announced earlier this month that the fashion designer would be joining the YouTube revolution with a channel of her own, which she launched during her London Fashion Week show on Sunday (17Feb19).

For the venture, she’s teamed up with style journalist Derek, who has been hired as the fashion and beauty director, with Derek explaining to Harper’s Bazaar how he managed to sweet talk her into it.

“A lot of social media can be really daunting; it’s all about opening up your life and Victoria is a very private person. But I think what appealed to her about this is that she is controlling her own narrative,” he shared. “She finally has a place to say, ‘This is how I do my lipstick,’ ‘This is what time I wake up,’ ‘This is what time I do my workout,’ and, ‘This is what I wear during my workout.’ And those are all things Victoria’s followers want her perspective on.”

And for the designer herself, who presented a line full of her usual feminine elegance in the British capital over the weekend, YouTube was an untapped market for her namesake label – which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2018.

“Although my kids are obsessed with YouTube, it’s a platform that I hadn’t really tapped into at all until Derek approached me,” she said. “The more (Derek) explained, the more I thought that this would be a great platform for me to show what I do, who I am and to introduce my team. It is going to be informative, there will be beauty content, but then there’s also going to be humour. This is content that I am going to own – and it can be whatever I want it to be.”

Victoria Beckham is pulling out all the stops to ensure the launch of her official YouTube channel is a success, and will debut the platform with a live stream of her London Fashion Week show.

The 44-year-old Spice Girls star turned designer will premiere the channel on Sunday (17Feb19), with viewers treated to an inside look at the workings of her eponymous brand and the chance to clap eyes on Victoria’s hotly-anticipated fall/winter 2019 collection with a live stream from Fashion Week.

The stream will also be broadcast on the iconic giant screens at London’s Piccadilly Circus.

“I am thrilled to launch my YouTube channel at such an important time of the year for me and offer an exclusive insight into my experience of London Fashion Week,” Victoria said in a statement. “I can’t wait to share my latest collection with as many as possible through the live stream.

“I look forward to building my channel with fun and exciting content that will keep me connected with my followers as well as build a sense of community with an amazing group of collaborators.”

Style journalist Derek Blasberg has been employed as the Fashion and Beauty Director of the channel, for which Victoria has hired a scriptwriter to ensure that fans enjoy the unique content she broadcasts.

In a statement, Derek said of the new venture: “Victoria Beckham has been a style star for more than two decades. It’s been fascinating to watch her evolution from Pop star to fashion designer, and I’m honoured to be a part of her opening up her brand and her life to the world of YouTube.

“Victoria’s channel will give people all over the world the chance to enjoy updates and behind-the-scenes access to the whole world of VB, and I believe it will truly spice up their lives.”

Victoria Beckham is set to provide fans with style and beauty advice on a new YouTube channel.

The former Spice Girls star-turned-fashion mogul recently announced the exciting news in an Instagram clip, in which she appeared alongside the platform’s fashion and beauty director Derek Blasberg.

“Today I have special news to share,” she said in the video. “I will be launching my own YouTube channel with beauty tutorials, styling tips and lots of stuff from me.”

The clip was shot during the 44-year-old’s appearance at London Fashion Week in September, during which she celebrated the 10-year anniversary of her fashion brand.

“I really feel that now I can put my foot on the gas and do everything that I’ve wanted to do for a long, long time,” the designer added. “I’m really, really excited to reach out to my customer and get to know him or her better.”

The new venture will be a rebooted version of Beckham’s current YouTube channel, which has more than 22,000 subscribers and offers make-up tutorials and footage from runway shows.

Beckham has had much to celebrate lately – earlier this month (Nov18), she was awarded the first ever Fashion Icon Award during the People’s Choice Awards.

“I feel so honoured…,” she said ahead of the ceremony in a statement. “This year I am celebrating 10 years of my brand, and this is a wonderful way to mark that decade. I am so grateful to be the inaugural recipient. I love what I do, and love that I have been given the opportunity to empower women through my collections.”
