Devon Windsor and her new husband Johnny Barbara are celebrating their marriage by honeymooning in South Africa, Kenya, and the Maldives.

The Victoria’s Secret beauty tied the knot with Johnny Barbara, co-owner of fashion label Alexis, at St Bartholomew’s Anglican Church on the Caribbean island of St Barths on 16 November in front of guests including Olivia Culpo, Georgia Fowler, Shanina Shaik, and Cara Santana.

Now their three-day wedding event is over, the newlyweds are taking time out to celebrate their marriage on a multi-trip honeymoon, with planned stops in South Africa, Kenya, and the Maldives.

“Johnny and I have been wanting to do an African safari our whole lives. We were saving it for our honeymoon because we wanted to something that was a unique experience and that we will remember forever,” Windsor told Bazaar Bride of their honeymoon plans. “We went to Maldives the first year we started dating, and said that when we get married we were going to come back – so we had to make it a stop on our (trip). It’s definitely one of our favourite places in the world.”

The couple took off on their honeymoon on Wednesday. Windsor documented their travel extensively on her Instagram Stories, showing them drinking wine and changing into matching pyjamas before take-off and landing in Paris, France for a brief stopover before catching a connecting flight to Africa.

On Thursday, she shared footage of them preparing for take-off on the next plane and added in the caption, “Last leg! Next 12 hours let’s go.”

Windsor got engaged to the businessman in June 2018 after two years of dating.

Model Devon Windsor designed two new swimwear pieces to wear during her recent wedding weekend.

The 25-year-old tied the knot with Johnny Barbara, co-owner of fashion label Alexis, at St Bartholomew’s Anglican Church on the Caribbean island of St Barths on 16 November in front of guests including Olivia Culpo, Georgia Fowler, Shanina Shaik, and Cara Santana.

The day before the wedding, the couple hosted a party at a beachside restaurant and Windsor made sure she stood out from the crowd by wearing white pieces she had designed for her swimwear line Devon Windsor Swim, which she launched earlier this year.

“Being a new swimwear designer, I worked closely with my mother-in-law, now-husband, and sister-in-law to design the most intricate hand-embellished pearl and sequin swimsuit that took multiple days of just bead application alone at their atelier,” she explained to Bazaar Bride. “The coverup for my first look also had French macrame lace and French embellished lace trim all framed with pearls to tie in my swimsuit. The second look was an embroidered lace look with high-waisted bottoms that had a detachable skirt flowing down the back and a halter top. Both looks were all white and made me feel so, so special.”

For the ceremony itself, the model turned to Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad, who created a sheer, floral lace white gown and a veil with matching lace trim.

“I have always been obsessed with his couture and bridal gowns. His attention to detail is unlike anyone I have ever seen. My first gown was an off the shoulder, long-sleeved lace gown that had a long train,” Devon gushed.

The Victoria’s Secret star later changed into another Murad design – a delicate beaded dress – for the reception.

Devon Windsor is a married woman.

The 25-year-old tied the knot with fiance Johnny Dex Barbara at a church in St. Barths on Saturday, in front of guests including Olivia Culpo, Georgia Fowler, Shanina Shaik, and Cara Santana.

Devon wore a sheer, floral lace white gown by Zuhair Murad, which featured intricate detailing on her torso and chest, a long white veil, and her blonde hair in loose waves.

The newlyweds posed for photos with their guests after the intimate ceremony and smiled at the locals who had gathered outside of the church.

Devon later changed into a white one-piece embellished bathing suit for pictures with her new husband on the beach in St. Barths, before partying with friends and family.

The model posted a snap on Instagram confirming the news, showing her wearing a personalised white bikini that read, “MRS. BARBARA.”

Shanina shared videos from the big day on her Instagram Stories too, with one clip depicting the happy couple just about to cut their wedding cake, with Johnny carrying his new wife.

The Victoria’s Secret Angel later posted videos from the boozy bash, which featured the model doing tequila shots with Sports Illustrated beauty Olivia.

Devon and Johnny spent the days leading up to their picturesque wedding spending time with their loved ones on the Caribbean island, with the bride-to-be also finalising the details of the ceremony.

“So much joy seeing all my friends coming in for my wedding!! Thank you for coming all over the world for this weekend!” she wrote alongside a clip of her walking on the beach.

Model Devon Windsor is set to wed this weekend in St. Barths.

The Victoria’s Secret beauty will tie the knot with her fiance Johnny Dex on the picturesque Caribbean island in the coming days, with guests expected to include a number of the model’s friends, including Shanina Shaik.

The bride-to-be has been documenting the run-up to her big day on Instagram, as she finalises the details of the ceremony with Dex.

“So much joy seeing all my friends coming in for my wedding!! Thank you for coming all over the world for this weekend!” she wrote alongside a clip of her walking on the beach.

Windsor then shared a video of the soon-to-be husband and wife driving to their wedding rehearsal.

“We’re on our way, don’t mess up!” the model laughed.

According to the New York Post’s Page Six, Windsor and Dex enjoyed quality time with their families in Guadeloupe before jetting to St. Barths.

The 25-year-old became engaged to the businessman in June 2018 after two years of dating.

He popped the question to Windsor in an elaborate proposal in the Bahamas, taking her on a plane ride over a private beach, where “Marry Me” was spelled out in rose petals on the sand.

Last week, she shared a sweet video of when she and Dex obtained their marriage licence. Beaming as they left a courthouse, Windsor was wearing a white blazer and matching miniskirt with a beaded headband, while her fiance looked dapper in a powder blue suit.

“First comes love then comes… marriage license!!! Step one, done! Next up…’, she wrote on Instagram, alongside bride and groom emojis.

Devon Windsor has described launching her own swimwear line as a “dream come true”.

To promote the venture, the 25-year-old has posed in campaign images for her eponymous line with fellow Victoria’s Secret model Lorena Rae, with the range featuring more than 30 different styles ranging from full-pieces, bikinis, and cover-ups.

“I am so excited to finally share this brand with everyone – this has been a passion of mine for so long, and to see it come to life is a dream come true,” she gushed on Instagram.

Devon was inspired by her annual family vacations while designing her debut collection, and wanted to create wearable, statement swimwear.

“There is something about being able to mix and match colours, patterns and silhouettes, and create your own unique look that fuels confidence and excitement!” she previously told New York Style Guide.

And the model, who has walked the runway for the likes of Tom Ford, Versace, and Chanel, has spent the last year testing out the swimwear personally.

“I’ve been wearing it, testing the fit and cut, even photographing it and seeing how it looks. I’ve had friends and family wearing the styles as well because I thought it was important to get feedback from a range of body types and sizes, not just my own,” Devon confessed.

Designed to include a variety of silhouettes, the blonde beauty took inspiration from vintage swimwear.

Devon Windsor is available at devonwindsor.com and selected retailers. Prices range from $50 to $115 (£40-£92) for bikini tops and bottoms, and from $100 to $195 (£80-£155) for swimsuits.

Candice Swanepoel is walking in the 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

The supermodel will return to the runway just five months after giving birth to her second son Ariel, whom she welcomed with fiance Hermann Nicoli in June (18).

With many of her fans worried that mothering duties could make her a no-show for the lingerie brand’s annual extravaganza, Candice confirmed she would be returning to the fashion show with a post on her Instagram stories, as reported by editors at Vogue Australia on Monday (15Oct18).

The fashion show is taking place in New York in November, following a two-year hiatus abroad with stints in Shanghai, China and Paris, France. It was also recently confirmed that Victoria’s Secret had tapped Mary Katrantzou to create pieces for the event, taking over from Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing, who was 2017’s designer.

Another model returning to the catwalk is mother-of-two Behati Prinsloo, who took a break from the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show following the birth of her daughters Dusty, two, and Gio, eight months.

“I’m coming back this year. I missed two years, so I’m really excited to walk this year,” she divulged during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

Lais Ribeiro, Martha Hunt, Stella Maxwell, Leomie Anderson and Devon Windsor are also returning, while there will also be plenty of new faces such as Duckie Thot and Winnie Harlow.

“I can’t believe this!!” Winnie exclaimed on Instagram, following her casting. “Thank you for giving me all the energy and kindness in that room! Thank you for allowing me to walk for VICTORIA’S SECRET!”

Other models include Georgia Fowler, Grace Elizabeth and Kelsey Merritt, the first Filipino model to walk in the show.

Robyn Lawley slams Victoria’s Secret over lack of curvy models

Robyn Lawley has criticised Victoria’s Secret for not hiring any plus-size models.

An association with the American lingerie brand has helped stars such as Candice Swanepoel, Lily Aldridge and Sara Sampaio become some of the most sought-after names in the business, and as a result, walking in the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is considered a career goal by many of today’s models.

However, plus-size model Robyn is not a fan of the label, believing that it excludes “curvy girls”.

“I hate Victoria’s Secret,” the 29-year-old commented in an interview with Australian current affairs programme The Sunday Project, which aired on Sunday night (09Sep18). “If they don’t use a curvy girl (in the show) this year, I’d be shocked. And if they don’t, just don’t buy their stuff.”

On Friday, it was announced that Winnie Harlow would be walking in the fashion show for the first time, while the likes of Barbara Palvin, Leomie Anderson and Devon Windsor would be returning to the prestigious catwalk later this year.

Though Victoria’s Secret bosses have yet to confirm any “curvy” models for the spectacle, Robyn is encouraged to see that many other brands are embracing a more diverse line-up.

“I think the fashion world has to wake up. And I think they are, very slowly,” said the star, who was the first plus-size model to be featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

She also admitted that she often feels insecure after seeing images of perfect-looking women on social media, and opened up regarding her decision not to have corrective surgery on the facial scar she suffered after falling down a staircase in her New York home.

“I was like if the fashion world doesn’t accept me back, I’ll focus on bigger more important things,” Robyn affirmed.

Shanina Shaik was once told she wouldn’t book high-end fashion jobs because of the colour of her skin.

The Australian beauty moved to New York as a teenager to achieve her ambition of becoming a model, and made her debut at New York Fashion Week in 2009.

Now, the 27-year-old is a runway regular, walking for labels like Jason Wu, Tom Ford and Vivienne Westwood. But her rise to the top wasn’t easy, and Shanina, who has Pakistani, Lithuanian, and Saudi Arabian heritage, says she’s had to fight to succeed.

“I used to get bullied. I was told that I wasn’t going to be able to model because of the way I look,” she said to The Hollywood Reporter. “I was told that because of the colour of my skin that I would never be able to book high-end fashion jobs.”

Shanina will be shining a light on the topic of racism in fashion on new TV show Model Squad. The E! Series, which premiered on Tuesday (04Sep18), follows Shanina, Devon Windsor, Hannah Ferguson and Olivia Culpo, among other models, as they navigate the industry.

And while the style world is slowly becoming more inclusive, the Victoria’s Secret model says more still needs to be done.

“Sitting back and seeing more diversity on magazine covers and in campaigns, it’s really exciting. I don’t think we’re completely there yet, but we’re doing better,” she stated. “With everyone so mixed and diverse, it’s hard for some people – like myself – to fit into a category. We have made strides and I love to see how a lot of designers and editors have championed models of colour in the past few years, but there could definitely be even more representation and inclusiveness.”

Devon Windsor is hoping to try her hand at design as her career progresses.

The Victoria’s Secret star, who has also walked the runway for Celine, Chanel and Moschino, is becoming an increasingly recognisable name in the fashion industry.

In addition to her modelling work, Devon is interested in food and cooking and has also tried her hand and acting, landing a small role opposite Vince Vaughn in Brawl in Cell Block 99 last year (17).

As for future ambitions, nothing is off limits.

“Career wise I have so many goals left. I want to try and build my brand outside of the modelling industry whether it be acting or hosting or even creating my own line,” the 24-year-old explained in an interview with website Meaww. “I would love to have my own line of products be it clothing or anything and do whatever I can lay my hands on.”

Her next venture is television, where Devon will be providing an intimate glimpse into her life in new show Model Squad, which debuts on the E! network next week (04Sep18).

But if viewers are hoping to see the romantic beach proposal from her now-fiance Johnny Dex, who proposed to Devon in June, they should prepare to be disappointed.

“Model Squad season one was filmed last year at this time so we don’t actually get to see the proposal,” she explained. “However viewers will get to see me talk about my relationship and navigate through the struggles we face.”

However, Devon, who added she can’t wait to be a mum, is pleased that she shares plenty of scenes with friend Olivia Culpo, who she was able to reconnect with through the show.

“Olivia and I have such have such hectic schedules that it is hard to make time for each other. Filming Model Squad was a guaranteed set time we got to be together,” she smiled.

Devon Windsor’s recent engagement to Johnny Dex was completely unexpected.

The Victoria’s Secret star, who has also walked the runway for Celine, Chanel and Moschino, announced her engagement in June (18), after Johnny delivered a romantic proposal on a private beach, where “Marry Me” was written in the sand.

And after two years of dating, Devon admitted that she had no idea her boyfriend was planning to pop the question.

“Everyone keeps asking me if I had any idea and I really didn’t because even my managers were in on it. Johnny had been working with my manager and he sent me call sheets and everything, so I was like totally in shock,” she shared in an interview with People magazine, recalling the moment she realised she wasn’t flying to the beach for a photoshoot after all.

“I flew over twice actually. The first time we were kind of high up so I couldn’t see it (the message), but I could really see that it was Johnny. I was like, ‘Wait what is going on right now?’”

Devon admitted that while she’s “tried” to get the ball rolling when it comes to wedding planning, she hasn’t got very far.

However, the future bride and groom do have a couple of early ideas.

“Ideally we want to have some destination wedding, somewhere tropical and by the ocean because I am such a beach bum,” the 24-year-old explained. “I don’t want to be too stressed and try to rush into it, so I think it will be at least a year away.

“I am not a very poofy princess-type bride, especially if it is like going to be a destination wedding or something by the ocean,” the model added of the bridal gown. “I would say I’m into more of a boho, beaded, easy dress. But who knows until you really try stuff on.”
