Dita Von Teese was delighted to make an appearance during Jean Paul Gaultier’s final couture show.

The legendary French designer announced his retirement plans in a statement posted to social media last weekend, and on Wednesday night, staged his final catwalk show at the Theatre du Chatelet as part of Paris Couture Week.

The extravaganza drew in a number of top models, including Bella and Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Joan Smalls, and Irina Shayk, as well as Gaultier’s go-to muses such as Karen Elson, Coco Rocha, and burlesque star Von Teese.

“What a night it was! I’m so grateful to have been part of @jpgaultierofficial’s final #hautecoutureshow, with so many of his muses and friends present! Jean Paul has always celebrated individually and beauty in many forms, and in all stages of life in a completely authentic way,” she posted on Instagram alongside a photo of her walking the runway in a blush pink satin corset dress made from belts. “I’m glad that being inclusive has become something brands feel compelled to do now, but #jeanpaulgaultier has been a champion for inclusiveness and diversity consistently, and genuinely, all along, because he truly believes in it.”

Von Teese went on to urge Gaultier’s fans to check out his Fashion Freak Show revues, which have previously been staged in Paris and London.

“I’m thankful to Mr. Gautier not just for shining the spotlight on me over the past 18 years, but for creating this joyful space that truly celebrates beauty in many forms. I can’t wait to witness the next chapter for Jean Paul. And, as his #FashionFreakShow tours, try to go see it, because it captures the magic of being at his runway shows in a fantastic way,” the 47-year-old added.

Paris Jackson made her runway debut at Jean Paul Gaultier’s final show during Paris Couture Week on Wednesday night.

The French fashion designer shocked fans last week when he announced that his Paris Couture Week presentation would be his last haute couture runway, and he made sure he went out with a bang by turning the star-studded catwalk show at the Theatre du Chatelet into a party.

One of the most surprising additions to his line-up was Paris, daughter of the late Michael Jackson, who hit the runway in a ’60s-inspired bohemian chic look which was comprised of a printed robe with a long train, a psychedelic patterned top, colourful snakeskin trousers, and wedge platform sandals. She topped the look off with colourful beaded jewellery and a green headband.

The 21-year-old later shared footage of her walk on Instagram and wrote in the caption, “Absolutely honoured and deeply grateful @jpgaultierofficial.”

In the comments, Naomi Campbell gave her seal of approval by calling the look “beautiful”.

Burlesque star Dita Von Teese also brought a little celebrity glitter to the show, strutting the runway in a sexy outfit crafted from belts and a corset, while Culture Club singer Boy George performed during the finale.

Models including Gigi and Bella Hadid, Winnie Harlow, Irina Shayk, Karlie Kloss, and Joan Smalls all made an appearance, alongside Gaultier muses such as Karen Elson and Coca Rocha, who performed an Irish dance down the runway.

The event brought out many industry icons who wanted to catch Gaultier’s final fashion show too. Carla Bruni, Eva Herzigova, and fellow designer Christian Louboutin were among the famous faces in the audience.

Opening the show, the retiring Gaultier urged his fans to recycle their clothes, stating, “In my first show and this, my last, there are creations made with the jeans I’ve worn. It’s the most beautiful of materials. Like a lot of humans, it becomes even more beautiful as it gets older.”

Jean Paul Gaultier’s model muses have reflected on some of their favourite memories from his decades-long career.

Last week, the legendary French designer announced his retirement plans in a statement posted to social media, and on Wednesday night, he held his final couture presentation as part of Paris Couture Week.

But prior to the spectacle, some of Gaultier’s go-to models took to Instagram to honour his work and designs, with Karen Elson posting a video of the “mildly scandalous” advert she shot for the Classique perfume in the early 2000s.

“Jean Paul Gaultier will always have a piece of my heart. When I was a teenager, I would stay up late and watch the show Eurotrash which he was the host, it opened up the door to me to the counterculture were all those who didn’t fit in found a place to call home,” she wrote in the caption. “As a designer Jean Paul welcomed me with open arms and always made me feel beautiful in his spectacular runway shows. Bravo Jean Paul! Thank you for inspiring so many of us.”

Carla Bruni uploaded a slideshow of images showing her walking the runway during various Gaultier presentations and added: “Doing his shows was always a great joy and a great honour.”

Meanwhile, fashion editor Carine Roitfeld posted a snap of herself and the 67-year-old and wrote in the caption, “50 years of career. 35 years of friendship. Congratulations.”

Elsewhere, burlesque performer Dita Von Teese recalled her appearances in the fashion star’s shows and noted that she will always be thankful to Suzanne von Aichinger for introducing them.

“I can’t believe this will be the final @jpgaultierofficial #hautecouture show. I’m so grateful to have been part of the story,” the 47-year-old added.

Jean Paul Gaultier has concluded his 50-year fashion career with a star-studded runway spectacle.

The legendary French designer announced his retirement plans in a statement posted to social media last weekend, and on Wednesday night, staged his final catwalk show at the Theatre du Chatelet as part of Paris Couture Week.

The extravaganza drew in a number of celebrities, including Nicolas Ghesquiere, Christian Lacroix, Carla Bruni, and Christian Louboutin, but at the opening, Gaultier called for fans to embrace sustainability and recycle their clothes.

“In my first show and this, my last, there are creations made with the jeans I’ve worn,” he told the crowd. “It’s the most beautiful of materials. Like a lot of humans, it becomes even more beautiful as it gets older.”

As promised, Gaultier offered guests a party, with the presentation opening with Karlie Kloss standing in the centre of the stage and opening a black coffin, to reveal model Issa Lish standing in a frilled white minidress inside.

Lish then took to the catwalk and was followed by a parade of models in quirky ensembles, such as a white dress covered in gloves, a top made from a tuxedo jacket, and a black tulle dress with images of Japanese art attached to the front.

Many of the 67-year-old’s key motifs were also included, with one model sporting a jumpsuit that resembled the conical bra he created for Madonna in the 1990s, burlesque star Dita Von Teese posing in an outfit made from a satin corset and belts, Gigi Hadid in a sailor uniform-inspired look, Karen Elson in a corseted number, and Irina Shayk in a Goth-inspired black tulle ballgown.

The event also featured special appearances from Joan Smalls, Paris Jackson, who made her runway debut, Erin O’Connor, as well as Coco Rocha, who did an Irish dance on the catwalk, as she also did back in 2007.

To conclude, Boy George performed a song during the finale, with the models applauding Gaultier as he proceeded to take his bow.

Dita Von Teese made her debut in Jean-Paul Gaultier’s Fashion Freak Show during Paris Couture Week.

It was reported earlier this month (Jan19) that the burlesque star would be joining the designer’s sexy musical retrospective, and the night before she took to the runway for Gaultier’s couture show, Dita wowed the crowd at the famous Folies Bergere cabaret hall in the French capital.

“I’m thrilled to take part in Jean-Paul Gaultier’s stage show; the Folies Bergere theatre is rich with showbiz history,” Dita beamed to The Hollywood Reporter. “Josephine Baker made her indelible mark on Paris with the ‘banana dance’ in this very theatre (in the ’20s), and the place still feels mythic, with the patina that makes you feel the energy of the past, while experiencing something totally modern and new!”

Talk of what evolved to become the Fashion Freak Show began years ago, with Frenchman Gaultier opening the cabaret in October. In it, he has included nods to some of his most famous muses, including Madonna, Kylie Minogue and filmmaker Luc Besson.

“When Jean-Paul first told me about his idea a couple years ago, I knew it would be a groundbreaking, celebratory show with a playful sense of humour,” Dita recalled. “I saw the show during my last European tour of The Art of the Teese, and I was so excited and proud of him for finding such a great way to tell his story. I am privileged to join his incredible cast this week for a special engagement!”

Following her performance on Tuesday (22Jan19), Dita then walked Gaultier’s runway, marking the fourth time she’s strutted for him.

Wearing a nude-and-black tulle gown with a velvet cage bustier and wing-like shoulder detailing, dubbed the Diva Von Teese, the 46-year-old was cheered on by front row guests Catherine Deneuve, Kat Graham and Irina Shayk.

Cindy Bruna and longtime Gaultier collaborator Coco Rocha also walked for the designer, who closed down his ready-to-wear line in 2014 to focus solely on couture.

International burlesque beauty Dita Von Teese hammers out her back pain with a power tool.

The professional dancer suffered some kinks ahead of her Dita Von Teese and the Copper Coupe tour last year (18) and she was surprised to learn a workshop machine was the answer to her body woes.

“I was going to physical therapy before my tour this (last) summer because I’d had some lower back issues, and my physical therapist pulled out the Theragun, and my life was changed,” she tells New York Magazine. “I got one immediately and even got one engraved. I use it on tour, and everyone passes it around.”

Dita is such a fan of the device, she considers the machine a part of her family, admitting she has even incorporated it into her romance with Disney visual designer Adam Rajcevich.

“It’s a power tool that really gets the knots out. I don’t know about you, but my partner is like, ‘If I have to give you another foot massage …’ But he’s not tired of using the Theragun on me,” she smiles. “It’s not one of those ‘back massagers’ that’s meant for something else either. It’s the real deal percussive therapy.”

In addition to finding the Theragun for back pain, celebrated fashionista Dita, 46, also came across some life-changing wardrobe information last year that has changed her lounge style forever.

“I was in London recently performing at the Palladium, and stayed with a girlfriend, Fiona Leahy, who’s the one I always look to for fashion inspiration,” she recalls. “One night she came out wearing this cashmere onesie, and I liked it so much I took a picture of her wearing it and put it on Instagram. The next thing you know I had one, too.

“With all the things I wear for work – the belts and corsets – nothing feels better than putting on a cashmere onesie at the end of the day. It’s become my most treasured piece of clothing, because it feels like a holiday. I never thought of myself as a onesie kind of gal but it’s pretty chic and streetwear-ready.”

Dita Von Teese loves a good shower to wash off her body make-up

In-demand burlesque beauty Dita Von Teese refuses to go to bed without removing every trace of make-up.

The 45-year-old glamour girl is covered from head to toe in cosmetics during performances, but when she retires from the stage and prepares for bed, she has one golden rule.

“Never in my life have I gone to bed after a show with my make-up on my body or my face. I would never do that,” she tells Us Weekly, insisting she prefers to dissolve into “nothing” before she catches her “beauty sleep”.

“It’s like I say, ‘I am never really fully naked up there. I am completely covered in layers and layers of illusion – make-up and powder and everything’, so it’s really about that shower at the end of the night.”

Dita has decked out her new stage shows in copper to mark her “most extravagant” performances ever.

The sexy dancer, who was married to shock rocker Marilyn Manson, has partnered with bosses at luxury vodka distiller Absolut Elyx for a 24-city U.S. run, and instead of dipping into her signature giant cocktail glass at the close of her show, Dita will be splashing around in a giant copper coupe to honour her sponsors’ famous distilling process.

“A friend of mine was like, ‘You’re famous for bathing in a giant cocktail glass; have you ever considered a sponsor?’” she laughed to Us Weekly magazine. “I love all of Elyx’s imagery, and I am super familiar with all of their copper stuff because I did my kitchen in British racing green with copper fixtures… I’ve got the hots for copper!”

Dita teamed up with shoe icon Christian Louboutin and British designer Jenny Packham to create copper-coloured custom pieces embellished with Swarovski crystals for the show, noting the costumes for the Dita Von Teese and the Copper Coupe Tour are her “most extravagant yet”.

She celebrated the launch of her Dita Von Teese and the Copper Coupe Tour, which ends in Las Vegas in June (18), at a fitting cocktail party in New York on Monday (30Apr18).
