Kim Kardashian asked for Reese Witherspoon’s approval before wearing her Legally Blonde-inspired look for Halloween.
The reality TV star is following in her late attorney father Robert Kardashian’s footsteps by training to become a lawyer, and last Thursday, decided to transform into Witherspoon’s bubbly sorority girl-turned-Harvard Law School student character Elle Woods for a bash.
Sharing several snaps on her Instagram page, Kardashian donned a pink dress and blonde wig, and also uploaded a video showing her parodying Woods’s famous Harvard admissions video essay.
The look was met with acclaim from fans, as well as Witherspoon, who commented, “Elle Woods forever,” adding the 100 emoji.
And speaking to Entertainment Tonight Canada, Witherspoon revealed Kardashian actually reached out to her for her blessing before debuting the costume.
“She actually wrote me and said, ‘I’m gonna do it.’ And I was like ‘Go for it!'” The Morning Show actress said. “It turned out great. She did a great job.”
“I’m impressed with that!” her co-star in the Apple TV+ series, Jennifer Aniston, added.
Aniston hadn’t yet seen the clip, but after her pal gushed over the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star’s project, she enthused: “That’s incredible, you have to show me that!”
Meanwhile, a third Legally Blonde movie is currently in the works, with Witherspoon hoping co-stars Jennifer Coolidge, Luke Wilson and Selma Blair will return for the flick.

Reese Witherspoon is hoping to reunite with her original Legally Blonde castmates on the upcoming third movie in the popular franchise.
The actress will reprise her role as Elle Woods, a naive sorority girl who tries to win back her ex-boyfriend by enrolling into Harvard Law School, in the reboot.
Reese’s flick will follow on from the 2001 original and its 2003 sequel, and a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, she speculated over which fan favourites may return for the feature.
“It’s just a development project right now, so we’ll see,” she told reporters at a screening of her new Apple TV+ series The Morning Show at the Paley Center in New York on Tuesday.
“I love Jennifer Coolidge and Luke Wilson and Selma Blair and so there’s so many great characters that people love,” Reese continued, naming Elle’s onscreen pal Paulette, her boyfriend, Emmett, and on/off friend Vivian, respectively.
She added: “If we end up doing it, hopefully they end up all being there.”
Earlier this year, Reese revealed during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she was still working on the project.
“We’re definitely talking about it…,” the 43-year-old said. “I mean it’s sort of about women being underestimated and I think it’s a good idea… Things have changed, but not that much has changed! I love playing that character. She’s so amazing.”
MGM executives previously indicated they are looking to release the third instalment in May 2020.

Luke Wilson is ready to reunite with Reese Witherspoon on Legally Blonde 3.
The 47-year-old doesn’t know much about the project, but is onboard for reprising his role as lawyer Emmett Richmond from the much-loved 2001 romantic comedy Legally Blonde, in which Reese played bubbly law student Elle Woods.
“Reese is so funny that I’d go back in a second and do it,” he shared during a recent interview on SiriusXM’s The Michael Yo Show. “I’d definitely be up for it. All I’ve heard is the same thing everyone else has heard, it’s that they might be doing a Legally Blonde 3. But I can’t imagine anything that would be more fun. Reese played such a great character. I’d love to do a Legally Blonde 3.”
While he confessed it was strange to have made “a semi-classic” back in the early 2000s with Legally Blonde, he revealed that he now has women his age telling him that they’ve shown the movie to their daughters and that they “love it” too.
In Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, which was released in 2003, graduate Elle marries boyfriend Emmett after she heads to Washington, D.C. to pass a bill to ban animal testing.
And Luke joked that they could make the third movie “real”, and said that the couple should divorce to give his character “some financial issues”.
Reese confirmed last June that she was ready to step back into Elle’s designer shoes for Legally Blonde 3, which is set to be released in February 2020.
“Oh, it’s gonna be so fun!” the Oscar-winning actress gushed to Entertainment Tonight. “I got to go to a meeting the other day where we talked about all the new plot points and all the characters and some returning characters and some new characters. I mean, I got so excited just in the meeting. I was like, ‘This is gonna be good.'”
