Scarlett Johansson has accused editors at a publication of altering her divisive comments on “political correctness” for “clickbait”.

In a cover interview for AS IF magazine, the actress insisted she has the right to “play any person, or any tree, or any animal because that is my job and the requirements of my job”.

“I feel like it’s a trend in my business and it needs to happen for various social reasons, yet there are times it does get uncomfortable when it affects the art because I feel art should be free of restrictions,” she added.

Johansson’s comments drew huge criticism online, with movie fans pledging not to see her films anymore. In light of the backlash, she released a statement over the weekend claiming her comments in the interview had been “edited for clickbait” and “widely taken out of context”.

“The question I was answering in my conversation with the contemporary artist, David Salle, was about the confrontation between political correctness and art. I personally feel that, in an ideal world, any actor should be able to play anybody and Art, in all forms, should be immune to political correctness. That is the point I was making, albeit didn’t come across that way,” the 34-year-old said in her statement obtained by editors at Entertainment Tonight. “I recognise that in reality, there is a widespread discrepancy amongst my industry that favours Caucasian, cis gendered actors and that not every actor has been given the same opportunities that I have been privileged to. I continue to support, and always have, diversity in every industry and will continue to fight for projects where everyone is included.”

Last year, Johansson backed out of the role of a transgender character in the film Rub & Tug following widespread backlash from the LGBTQ community.

And in 2017, she came under fire when she took the starring role in the big-screen adaptation of Ghost in the Shell, the manga cartoon whose main character is Japanese.

Lady Gaga’s Haus of Gaga store will officially open at the Park MGM in Las Vegas on 30 May.

The Poker Face singer, who is gearing up to return to Sin City for her ongoing Enigma residency, took to Twitter on Thursday to announce the news, posting the black and white Haus of Gaga logo, with a pink neon sign that read ‘Las Vegas’.

It is not yet clear what will be sold at the Haus of Gaga boutique, but sources tell the Las Vegas Review-Journal it will be stocked with Gaga-branded products.

And the A Star Is Born actress is also hoping to staff the shop with fans, known as Little Monsters. According to the MGM Resorts International career website, the retail store is hiring part-time and full-time sales associates.

“Become one of the stars behind the show and become part of the world’s most powerful entertainment brands,” the employment listing reads. “Our company has one exciting mission: To entertain the human race.”

Gaga, 33, first set up Haus of Gaga in 2008, with the concept originally modelled on Andy Warhol’s Factory and consisting of her creative team. Current members of her crew include her fashion director Brandon Maxwell, hairstylist Frederic Aspiras and make-up artist Sarah Tanno.

Previously, Aspiras opened up to Entertainment Tonight about his work with the Haus of Gaga, and explained that he always wants the superstar to feel “special, beautiful and confident”.

“I’m so grateful to have had shared this journey thus far (with Gaga),” he commented. “But today, we celebrate the achievement of someone who believes in her art and empowers me to work beyond the lines. I find that to be the most rewarding part of the relationship that I have with Gaga.”

Gaga’s next Las Vegas show will take place on 30 May, with the current run of Enigma continuing until 8 November.

Naomi Campbell seemingly shaded Kim Kardashian when she was asked about her rumoured feud with the reality star.

The supermodel attended the Time 100 Gala at Lincoln Center in New York City on Tuesday (23Apr19), and was asked by Entertainment Tonight reporters about how gossip of the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star copying her style started.

“Next question,” the beauty bluntly responded with a smile.

Speculation of a feud between the pair began when fans noticed that 38-year-old Kim had been wearing an array of vintage designer looks from Versace and Mugler that Naomi had worn during her early career.

The legendary supermodel, 48, subsequently started to share throwback snaps of herself donning the same outfits, leading many to suspect that she was indirectly referencing the star’s style.

Kim recently confessed to People that Naomi was in fact the inspiration behind her fashion choices, and insisted that she’d never tried to shy away from the fact.

“It’s funny because people were writing about it like it was some scandalous thing,” she admitted. “I’ve always been so open that she is the ultimate fashion and glam muse. She got the best runway looks.”

Kim went on to reveal that she had approached the model to address the speculation, and insisted that the pair had “laughed” about the rumours.

“(Naomi) and I have talked about it and laughed that it has become such a big deal, because I’ve always been so upfront with her privately about how she is my forever fashion and glam muse,” Kim recalled. “She is literally one of the most beautiful, iconic people that inspires me fashion and beauty-wise.”

Joe Jonas dressed as fiancee Sophie Turner‘s Game of Thrones character Sansa Stark ahead of the show’s highly-anticipated season eight premiere.

The Sucker hitmaker first donned the outfit for a Halloween party last year (18), and gave it another outing before the season’s first episode on aired on Sunday (14Apr19), sharing a hilarious clip on Instagram of his new look.

In the video, which the star simply captioned “MOOD”, Joe could be seen making a grand entrance in one of the character’s signature floor-length, blue velvet dresses, complete with a corset, bell sleeves and gold embellishments around the neckline.

The 29-year-old topped off the look with a wig that strongly resembled Sansa’s iconic auburn tresses, styled in homage to the popular character, while the theme music from the HBO series played over the video.

Stars flocked to remark on the Burnin’ Up star’s resemblance to his beau, despite the fact that he still kept his stubble and bushy eyebrows.

“Tooooo good!!” wrote brother Nick Jonas’ wife Priyanka Chopra, while Joe’s I Can Do That co-star Alan Ritchson laughed, “Hast been a harsh winter for our queen.”

While Joe is hugely supportive of his fiancee and a renowned fan of the show, Sophie recently revealed that he had to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) after learning how the series ends while spending time on the set.

Admitting bosses took desperate measures to keep details under wraps, Sophie told Entertainment Tonight: “Joe was on set most of the time so he kind of figured it out and he was like, ‘Can you fill me (in)?’ And, he signed an NDN, NDA and everything so it’s all good.”

Ciara has insisted that drinking “tons of water” was key in helping her regain her sleek figure.

The star, who is renowned for her toned physique and works hard to keep it in shape, admitted to Entertainment Tonight that making small lifestyle changes helped her shed 50lb (23kg) in five months after welcoming her daughter, Sienna, on 28 April 2017.

“Tonnes of water – water is key – and honestly just listening to your body,” she cited as the most important thing she does for her wellbeing. “I had to work on mastering that because I love food so much, and food is so good. It’s so comforting and the problem is that, when it’s in your face, you want more.

The Love Sex Magic songstress went on to admit that she found restricting her diet the toughest part of getting back in shape, and insisted that “finding balance is key”.

“That’s what I’ve really been working on and I will tell you it’s been a long time, it’s hard work trying to do that…” the 33-year-old reflected. “I really talk to myself, (I say) ‘I’m not going to eat those fries right now…brownie ice cream, I hear you. Imma eat you tomorrow’.”

Sienna is the star’s first child with her husband, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. She also has a son, four-year-old Future, from her previous engagement to rapper Future.

The Level Up hitmaker also suggested that, while she takes the time to tone up, she’s also keen to embrace her flaws.

“Even something as real as having stretch marks on my back on both sides, I look at these babies and it’s all worth it,” she confessed. “This is beautiful.”

Taron Egerton has confessed he found his wardrobe for the upcoming Elton John biopic Rocketman “liberating”.

The actor made the comments during an interview for Entertainment Tonight to promote the film, in which he wears outfits ranging from horned and winged bodysuits to feather-covered creations to a sequinned Los Angeles Dodgers uniform.

In particular, Taron claimed he especially enjoyed wearing an outfit comprised of gold hot pants, a gold jacket, and winged boots.

“I found it quite liberating, actually,” the star revealed. “I did, yeah I did, I think there is something quite freeing about just sort of going ‘To hell with it, I am going to wear what I like’.”

Taron posted a picture of him wearing the costume on Instagram to celebrate the Your Song hitmaker’s birthday on 25 March (19), in which he gushed over the singer as being “the most extraordinary person I’ve ever met”.

The 29-year-old went on to confess that the photo dated back to the early stages of the movie, and the music icon’s birthday seemed the perfect time to share it.

“It was an old photo actually,” he admitted. “It was from when we were doing fittings for the film and I have been keeping it back for a special occasion and it felt like the right time.”

Rocketman chronicles the Tiny Dancer star’s journey from obscurity to worldwide acclaim, including his personal struggles with relationships, his sexuality, and addiction.

Taron stars alongside Jamie Bell, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Richard Madden in the movie, which will begin hitting cinema screens on 31 May.

Keira Knightley has joked that her baby daughter made her so sleep deprived it made her a better actress.

The 33-year-old Oscar-nominated actress welcomed her daughter, Edie, with husband James Righton in 2015, then started work on World War II drama The Aftermath, opposite Alexander Skarsgard, a mere 18 months later.

And due to the relentless first year of motherhood, with night-time feeds, teething babies and round-the-clock parenting, Keira revealed she was suffering from a severe lack of sleep while on set.

“The weird thing with acting is that sleep deprivation basically makes your emotions very close to the surface,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “It’s much easier to cry. You feel like crying all the time, so I can turn that on like that, so this is great. Thanks kid.”

Keira laughed: “The bags under my eyes are a little bit more, but apart from that, the crying is good!”

The first-time mother recently admitted that motherhood has been “f**king difficult,” and she thinks women don’t get enough credit for the huge “physical and emotional marathon” they go through after giving birth.

“I come from a place of amazing privilege. I have an incredible support system; I’ve been unbelievably lucky in my career; I can afford good childcare, and yet I still find it really f**king difficult,” Keira told Balance magazine.

And while she still loves her daughter unconditionally, she urged other mothers to accept that what they are doing is enough.

“It’s OK to say that,” she shared. “It doesn’t mean I don’t love my kid, it’s just me admitting that the sleep deprivation, the hormonal changes, the shift in relationship with my partner, are all things that make me feel as if I’m failing on a daily basis.

“I have to remind myself that I haven’t failed, I’m just doing what I can do, but it’s not easy,” Keira added.

Tyler Perry looking to revamp Madea film franchise by taking character back in time

Tyler Perry is considering taking his beloved Madea character back in time to revamp the movie franchise.

The actor/director will retire his challenging pensioner after new movie A Madea Family Funeral, but he isn’t killing off the character completely, and is hatching plans to revisit her in the 1970s.

“That’s an idea that I’m thinking of doing,” Perry told Entertainment Tonight. “Letting it go back to the 70s and seeing an actress actually play her in that time… I got some people in mind, but we’ll see.”

Perry has played Madea in 11 films, which began with Diary of a Mad Black Woman in 2005. His final outing as the character will hit cinemas on Friday (01Mar19).

“I’m looking forward to the next chapter,” Perry added. “I’m turning 50 this year and I don’t want to be her age, playing her.”

The final Madea outing comes hot on the heels of Tyler’s performance in filmmaker Adam McKay’s Oscar-nominated movie Vice, for which he was transformed into former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell, and the star reveals he actually reached out to former President George W. Bush’s one-time cabinet member to seek his permission before taking on the role.

“It was pretty surreal,” Tyler confessed on U.S. breakfast show Today. “There are not a lot of living African-American heroes, so before I said, ‘I’m going to do this’, I wanted to call and say, ‘Is this OK?'”

Powell, who was the first African-American to serve as Secretary of State, couldn’t have been more receptive to the idea, much to Perry’s delight.

“It was really, really powerful,” he shared of their talk. “He sent me his book (memoir); we had a great conversation. It was pretty good to be able to pick up the phone and call.”

Powell served under President Bush from 2001 to 2005.

An ill-fitting dress helped actress Rachel Leigh Cook perfect her iconic awkward staircase scene in cult romance She’s All That.

In the beloved film, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, Cook’s nerdy character, Laney Boggs, wows her school’s hunk, portrayed by Freddie Prinze, Jr., with her red dress makeover for the prom, but her big reveal is ruined when she stumbles on the last step and falls into his arms.

Rachel Leigh admits the scene really was as awkward as it looked, because she was wearing a dress that was too small for her.

“I remember feeling really self-conscious in the scene where I have to come down the stairs in the red dress,” the now 39-year-old actress tells Entertainment Tonight. “There were two of that dress. We needed a stunt double dress for the scene where I had to run out and fall down in the driveway.

“One dress felt a good size smaller than the other one. Apparently the (main dress) was not available, so I’m in the second dress just (trying) to get down the stairs. Just without breathing. Say some words and then we’ll be done!”

The 1999 film was a surprise hit at the box office, but Cook admits she has mixed emotions about playing Laney on the big screen: “I remember it being a special time but, you know, I was a teenager making a movie about being a teenager, so, like any teenager, I was full of awkwardness and insecurities and not knowing how to navigate my life or my career or anything!”

Ironically, the actress is skipping her own 20-year high school reunion bash to mark the film anniversary: “No offence to Minneapolis South High School, but I think this means slightly more to me just, because this continued to be such a huge part of my life… And I got to go to a fake prom, I got to maybe be fake prom queen, like a lot of stuff happened in three and a half weeks in 1999.”

Khloe Kardashian swears a drugstore cream is the key to tackling blemishes.

The new mother, who welcomed daughter True with boyfriend Tristan Thompson last April (18), always steps out with a flawless complexion whenever attending red carpet events.

However, Khloe has now shared that her number one hack for getting rid of blemishes and acne fast is to use an easily accessible ointment.

“I do know if you have a breakout that’s red, cortisone cream – it reduces the redness,” she said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the recent launch of her BECCA Cosmetics collaboration with her friend Malika Haqq in Los Angeles. “I’ve done that a couple times when I needed to, but honestly there’s nothing like some water and some sleep.”

Even though Khloe’s life has become a lot more hectic since the arrival of baby True, she still tries to indulge in the occasional beauty treatment or exercise session. But she confessed that she will never be tempted to try a form of yoga ever again.

“Well, I did goat yoga with Kevin Hart and I don’t know if that’s a beauty treatment ’cause it wasn’t relaxing whatsoever,” the 34-year-old sighed. “It was like a fad. I don’t know if it still is. And you basically are doing yoga and goats walk all over you and it was so cute for about fifteen seconds and they all started peeing and pooping and it was just not fun.”

Meanwhile, Khloe recently opened up about some of her go-to beauty products. In a post on her app, she shared that she always has her bathroom stocked with Neutrogena’s Make-up Remover Cleansing Towelettes and Neutrogena’s Extra Gentle Eye Make-up Remover Pads to make taking off her cosmetics before bed a piece of cake.

“I love to get glam, but it can be such a b**ch to take off all that make-up, LOL (laugh out loud),” the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star noted. “To get my skin clean, first I wash my face (of course), then use two Neutrogena towelettes to remove any left-over product, including one that’s just for eyes since eyeliner and mascara can be so tricky. Both are under $10 (£7.50) and available at any drugstore.”
